I haven't stayed at The Renwick since they were part of Hilton's curio hotel collection... and, in many ways, this independence is visible in the little, but important, details: the rooms show wear and tear (the suitcase rack had a broken strap, the showerhead leaked, there were only 3 hangers in the room, no writimg instruments, the lights above didn't work, etc), there was nobody at the check in and the check-out was done by someone who was on their way out (with backpack and air pods on)... and not even a thank you for staying or have a nice day.
am I being picky? perhaps. ... but, as I already mentioned, it's no longer like staying at a nice Hilton.
