Mike was very helpful and told us about the glaciers that we could see out his front door. The views were excellent of the bay and glaciers when it was clear out. It was very nice to sit by the kitchen table with Mike and discuss the area as it was all new to us.

Good Karma and a Great Rest
The owner was friendly and very helpful, making recommendations. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view was amazing. Very peaceful for a weekend break.

Michael was one the best hosts we've had TY o deal with. From moment we walked in, he was friendly and very helpful pointing out places to eat, viewing spots and hiking. Having been there 33 years, he knows a lot about the area. The view from any room is phenomenal as you are high up and can see across the bay to view glaciers and mountains. I highly recommend The Good Karma.

We loved our time at the Good Karma Inn. Michael, the owner, was very thoughtful and kind. We felt very welcome in his lovely inn. We enjoyed talking with him and he made us delicious breakfasts, dinner reservations and offered advice about how to enjoy Homer. The scenery and setting of the Good Karma Inn are extraordinary, and it was a pleasure to come back in the evening and enjoy the view of the mountains and the glaciers from the deck. We hope to return one day.

The property is in a beautiful natural location overlooking the bay and surrounding mountains from a slight elevation. Spectacular views were enjoyed from the room and attached deck. The resident flock of sandhill cranes are wonderful to watch. The owner/host was extremely helpful in getting reservations at the last minute for a restaurant and water taxi. His idea for a local day hike to a nearby glacier lake was a highlight of our Alaskan vacation.

This is a beautiful custom log home, with exceptional views of Kachemak Bay. Its wonderfully quiet and peaceful with only 4 units. The wonderful work of local artists, are displayed throughout the property. Michael is an engaging host and cooks a hearty breakfast. The only comment I have is, the mattresses could use an update.

Great view of Kachemak Bay and Homer Spit. Across the bay mountains, ice fields and glaciers. Tons of wildlife on site and nearby. Staff is outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The drive from Anchorage or Seward is long with limited cellphone coverage. Notification of anticipated arrival time to staff is highly recommended.

Great Accommodations… phenomenal views. Wildlife all around saw sandhill cranes moose (one with two newborns) right outside our window. Dog friendly and relaxed setting!

It is an excellent property. The owner takes a lot of pride in his facility and is always available if needed. Our family greatly enjoyed our stay. We felt as comfortable as being home, but in a better location. The owner provided us with excellent tips about the area (including where to dine). He was spot on! I highly recommend the Good Karma Inn!

A Jewel in Paradise
The Good Karma Inn is a jewel, mainly due to the owner and host - Michael. He chose a fantastic location and made sure that your bedroom would be very comfortable, with the finest views. A nice breakfast each morning and enjoyable conversation made everything seem just perfect.

Good Karma about the Good Karma Inn
Michael was an amazing host and the Good Karma Inn was the perfect place to stay! Right from the start, Michael was very communicative and welcoming. It made our stay that much more of a pleasant experience. Additionally, the stories he shared added to the experience and helped personalize the trip. The Good Karma Inn was easy to find, had a beautiful, not too far from the center of town, and was very clean and complimenting. When visiting Homer again, I will most definitely be staying at the Good Karma Inn again.

Perfect stay with eye-popping views
I had the pleasure of staying at the Good Karma Inn in early July and honestly couldn’t have had a better stay. Michael is an outstanding host, was welcoming and communicated great even before my arrival, was helpful with all questions, and makes a great breakfast to boot. I consider myself well traveled, have been to over 30 countries, and I’ve had the opportunity to stay in many different venues, and I don’t know that I’ve seen better views than I saw through my bedroom window at the Good Karma Inn. The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the bay with snow-capped mountains behind it and a five glacier view that sprawls as wide as you can see. Pictures don’t do it justice and I told myself If the views in person were even half as close to as advertised I’d be pleased..they were that and then some. My only regret is I couldn’t stay longer but I told Michael I’d be back and am already planning my next trip!

Michael was a great host. He is very accommodating and makes a great breakfast. Animals are welcome which was one of the reasons I selected this location. I live in Alaska so I appreciated the fact he requires shoes off in the house. On top of all of that the views are amazing.

Best Breakfast in Homer, Alaska!
This was one of our best B&B experience. Mike makes the best breakfast! It was such a memorable experience, and we felt like we were visiting and staying with a family member and not with a stranger. Mike is very easy-going, has tons of stories to tell, and the views from our room (mindfulness room) was spectacular! If you visit Homer, this is definitely a place to stay.

Great views!
Unrestricted views of Kachemak Bay from a nice little B & B. We very much enjoyed chatting with the owner. The house is clean as a whistle. It's conveniently located. Nearby you can buy fresh salmon, eat at a great bagel shop, visit local artists and more. Would stay here again.

Great place to stay
An excellent small hotel to stay at where the owner Michael was readily available for assistance if required. Michael is an excellent source for local information and recommendations for restaurants and other stuff. He even gave us the best route out of town to maximize our sightseeing. Absolutely recommend the Good Karma Inn

Best stay in 9 days AK trip.
Really nice stay, the room is really clean and comfortable, the view is terrific, breakfast is wonderful, besides of all these, Miachel the owner is really helpful, he helped us to book the fishing trip and helped us to find the best seafood restaurant in town and gave us a lot of trip advises, we just left a big inn in Seward very disappointed，Good karma inn was the best one for the our 9 days trip.

The place to stay in Homer
I booked the hotel due to the good reviews - and I will add another one, combined with a strong recommendation to go there. The house it a little out of town on the hill - which guarantees the absolute fabulous view on the Kachemak Bay and the glaciers as well as the quiet- and peacefulness you will experience as soon as you got out of your car. Michael has designed and build the house as a B&B - all windows facing to the sea, very comfortable rooms, equipped with furniture he made himself. The beds are very comfortable! As he is also a buddist, he managed to give the house a very specific atmospere, which you will sense as soon as you allow yourself to do so. When you get up, you will receive a fantastic breakfast, which Michael prepares freshly every morning. Try his eggs! Further, if you have any questions about Homer or what to do there, do not hesitate to ask Michael for advice. It is hard to imagine, that there is anything in Homer to see or to do, that Michael does not know about. I sent my first four days in the Good Karma Inn and feld to relaxed and good that I had to reassure myself several times about my departure. I hope I can return in the near future.

Awesome, highly recommended :)
Besides the unfortunate event happened to the host the day we arrived (he was sick and hospitalized) we are thrilled with his place intern of spectacular view, very clean, relaxing and not far way from town and the spit. Micheal is a cool guy and he can provide lot of information for sightseeing.

Unfortunately the day these guests arrived I was medevac to Anchorage with kidney stones but I managed to cajole the doctors into releasing me the following day .......as my dear friend , Paul ,used to say .....”getting old is not for sissies...”

Absolutely worth it !!!
Everything worked out as expected. The view from every room is worth a million bucks !!! The property manager is fantastic and very helpful. We would definitely visit and stay here again.

Thank you I deliberately chose this raw land because it is located at the widest part of Kachemak Bay thus providing a 180° panoramic view of Kachemak Bay , the Kenai Mountains and 4 Glaciers

Our Vacation at Good Karma Inn, Homer, AK
Fabulous vacation......We got more than our money's worth from our host, Michael, who is very helpful and informative. He aided in making reservations for fishing trips and restaurants even before we had left to go to Alaska through communication via email. The view from the Inn was spectacular and friends and family who we have shown photos marvel at the beauty of the area. The Inn, which is in a private secluded setting, is minutes away from the Homer Spit where many restaurants and fishing opportunities are located. There are many sculptures and artifacts from native Alaskan artists that decorated the knotty pine living areas and bedrooms. Every evening we had extended interesting conversations with our host Michael who is a Viet Nam War Veteran and well traveled throughout Italy. No laundry services were available on the premises but once again, are just minutes away......
