Samara Pacific Lodge is a hidden gem for our Samara adventure! The location was perfect. We could walk to the beach for some surfing in the mornings, then head into town for delicious local eats in the afternoons. In the evenings, the pool area was a lifesaver! Nice and refreshing, with plenty of comfy loungers to catch some rays and unwind. The staff here were incredible. Kenneth and Allen were so friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond with a smile. And breakfast every morning was a delicious way to start the day. Those pancakes – seriously, amazing! The room itself was big, with balcony. The bed was comfy, and everything was spotless. Just perfect for crashing after a day of fun in the sun.

Nos gustó el ambiente y la atencion del personal. De facil acceso desde el pueblo, aproximadamente 1.4 km. La habitación limpia y bien dispuesta asi como un baño amplio y muy higienico.

A around 4am we heard howler monkeys. Later at breakfast we could see them in the trees across the road. Nice pool etc, but the monkey family was the best part

Beautiful hotel with great food
The hotel is very nicely arranged around a swimming pool, bar and restaurant. The restaurant food is a cut above most of the restaurants in Samara with a wonderful new Spanish chef. The only drawback was the road into the hotel, in horrible condition but not that big of a deal as a short ride. We know the area well as we live in the mountains above.

Friendly workers, Great Breakfast. No frills
The front desk and owner were awesome. Surprised that they didn't have a little frig/coffee maker in the room and the hotel didn't have ice unless you went to the front desk during working hours. Drink prices were reasonable. The made to order breakfast in the morning was a nice added touch. We went during the off season, so there were very few guests. The 3 rooms is a bit deceiving, the beds are basically the same that they would be in a double bed hotel, except they put up a wall and a window....no privacy. Bathroom should have been in the middle and the two bedrooms on the ends.

thanks for your comments, we was glad you enjoyed the hotel, in order to try and keep the cost of the room low as possible there no coffee machine or small frigs in the normal rooms however we have 1 apartment which has a kitchen in it but at a higher cost. Yes sorry the hotel does not offer a ice machine.

Amazing! Kids loved the pool. The location was spectacular and easy access too beach and town. Our check in process and individual was so friendly and helpful in every single way. Breakfast was delicious every day-kids loves the pancakes. Would definitely recommend this location.

The hotel was clean and well staffed, with the reception service excellent. No dinner or lunch was served but the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is about 15 minute walk from town and beach. Close enough to walk but on a dusty road.

Nice quiet family friendly place
Extremely friendly staff, always willing to help and go the extra mile to make sure you feel comfortable. The room had an AC and 2 fans, a nice bathroom with hot water and a balcony. Nice pool. The restaurant is closed due to the pandemic, but they do have breakfast and a selection of nice cocktails.

Loved the stay here. Felt authentic but had the amenities of home. Beautiful pool and bar area. Great staff and yummy breakfast! So cool to hear the animals all night too.

Nice place. Completely packed with mostly French tourists. Good breakfast, nice staff, and even though they say that you are 5 minutes walking to the beach, it’s minimum 5 minutes by car. After walking one way for 30 minutes on a very dusty road, we turned back.

Our stay at Samara Pacific Lodge was great! The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. The pool and dining areas were very well maintained and breakfast was good. Rooms are simple but were clean and had well-working AC. Parking is free, on-site, in a gated lot. The location is outside of downtown Samara but within 15 minute walking distance (20 minutes to walk along the beach). We would highly recommend this property!

Great week long stay!
Our family really enjoyed our week long stay at Samara Pacific Lodge. The owner and staff are all so wonderful! The family room was very basic (no fridge or anything), but the front desk allowed us to keep drinks in their fridge for us. The breakfast had 2 options (pancakes with fruit salad or typical- rice/beans, eggs and toast), and both were delicious. The fruit salad was so fresh and delicious. The fresh squeezed juice every morning was excellent. Oh and their homemade jam- especially the pineapple was SO GOOD! The rooms and grounds were clean, the parking was behind a gate with a passcode, and the front desk was most helpful with any info. The pool is quite deep, but there is a small shallow pool for kids if needed. The chairs/loungers around the pool were comfortable as well. Definitely recommend staying here!

El personal es genial.
Bastante bien, el personal es súper archi recontar Ultra amable, sobre todo la muchacha que atiende ea genial. La habitación no tiene tele, y no es muy bonita realmente, pero, tiene todo lo necesario, realmente me parece una buena opción para ir a Samara. La piscina súper bien y el parqueo seguro. Pacific Lodge Overview
Samara Pacific Lodge was a great place to stay and relax. Staff was very friendly and quick to provide service. We would gladly stay there again. Two recommendations: improve WiFi in garden area; our room located in the garden had very poor WiFi with frequent outage. Although location is in walking distance from the town and the beach, do don’t want to walk there after dark (6 pm) because of packs of dogs who can be very aggressive. We were attacked twice and one lady was bitten. Suggest working with the municipality to address this issue

This is the perfect little getaway location for those who want comfort and genuine service without all the bells, whistles and stuffiness of a large luxury property. Very laid back and an absolutely wonderful owner. We will be back.

Cosy place!
Very nice place a little of from the village, difficult to walk in the dark. Misses a fridge on the room, to have cold water etc. Every nice pool! Mostly french people in the hotel.

El hotel es pequeño y sencillo pero tiene todo lo necesario para pasarlo bien Personal amable , trilingüe (español- inglés - Francés ) Un desayuno con 3 opciones de menú y todas preparadas de la mejor manera La piscina es limpia y de buen tamaño El aseo Diario de la habitación es un punto alto y el Hotel está a 800 metros caminando de la playa Samara la cual es aseada y bonita pero muy llena de gente y si vas en carro todavía más sencillo porque te puedes comunicar con playas aledañas muy fácilmente (recomiendo playa carrillo si vas con niños ) Si debo de resaltar no solo lo amable de la atención , Sino que al ir con familia de 5 miembros nos dieron una habitación de 3 camas dobles y 2 individuales Y 2 baños completo en pocos hoteles hemos estado hospedados tannn cómodos !

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They also arranged a horseback riding excursion which was fantastic and great value for the money. The room was fairly basic, but the pool was great and there were many comfortable places to sit around the lodge. The restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. It was a little farther from the beach than I thought, but still only a 5-10 minute walk. It was a 10-15 minute walk to town, but nice to be a bit removed from the noise. We also saw and heard howler monkeys right outside the hotel. Great place to stay!

A Quaint Resort
Absolutely fanstastic breakfast. The hotel has a lovely little pool that feels wonderful in hot and humid Costa Rica weather. Walk to downtown Sámara is around 20-25 minutes and so is the walk to the two beaches. The road leading up to the hotel is not paved. There is an excellent hike right next to the hotel leading up to a beach. You can see monkeys and other animals on this hike.

Très déçu par cet hôtel, hôtel vieillissant et manquant d'entretien. Peinture chambre sale, 4 transats autour de la piscine pour l'ensemble de l'hôtel. Peu de présence et d' enthousiasme des propriétaires. Il y a beaucoup mieux sur la plage à Samara et moins cher.

Nous sommes en fin de saison touristique et nous profitons de la basse ( c'est à dire en Juin ) pour faire nos travaux et non pas quand nous avons des clients pour éviter tout inconvenients sonores ou olfactifs. Nous sommes en train de réparer les transats de la piscine, peut être pour cette raison qu'il y en avait moins lors de votre venue Nous sommes très présents et enthousiastes par notre établissement, rien qu'à voir les commentaires que nous avons sur les autres sites. hôtel agréable et bien situé
Hôtel tenu par des français qui sont à notre écoute. Cela fait plaisir de pouvoir recevoir des informations, des avis et de faire le point à ce moment du voyage avec des gens qui connaissent la région. La piscine est propre, claire, bien exposée et très agréable; Les chambres sont confortables et donnent, par la porte de derrière sur un" côté prairie" différent. La plage n'est pas loin et ne présente aucun danger. A noter et c'est un gros PLUS Olivier qui, aux fourneaux, confectionne une très bonne cuisine, recherchée avec des plats travaillés d'excellent rapport qualité-prix. N'hésitez pas, s'il vous le propose, à goûter sa langouste...Une très bonne halte avec une super plage pas loin: playa Carillo.

Great hotel, wonderful staff. 15 min walk to the beach. Great restaurant onsite. Pool is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are basic but all you need is there. Showers are great compared to other places. Great place for the money!!

Don't stay here
Run down hotel with uncomfortable rooms, no coffee maker, no fridge, no TV, no wifi in the rooms, needs lots of repairs and far from the town. Would not recommend this hotel. Save your money and stay somewhere else.
