Everything is great at this property, the service at the Adan area or infinity pool is amazing, the waiters are the best. BUT … the service at the beach club is not that great, the hosts are rude, I asked for a spot at the beach and they told me I needed a reservation and deny me to sit at the beach. If you are going to the beach club expect to be treated rude there is always an excuse not to give you a chair, you need to do it online or reserve even if I do it in the morning still was late. They need to change attitude and customer service at the beach club. It’s not ok to be treated rude specially since that is included. Other than that amenity’s and hotel is great

Availed the VIP but not given the perks, I didn’t touch any items in fridge and mini but charged me after stated that i drank 2 cans of soda. The fridge was broken and items are not even cold so it was disgusting. Light bulbs are half dead so its dark in the room at night. For the price i paid it was not worth the hype. Not going back there.

The staff was impeccable and the massages were wonderful. I recommend Isaac and Ibra. The food was delicious and my room had a wonderful ocean view. If there's a downside it's the people selling time shares onsite but I managed to stay away. Great hotel for gay travelers who want to feel comfortable and accepted

Paper thin connecting door to the room next door. I could hear every word they said. They have young straight guys peddling overpriced massages all day long at the pool. Feels weird.

This hotel was beautiful, the staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool and beach options and the full service restaurant on property. It was modern and updated with beautiful bathroom. The concierge Hector was especially helpful and so was the front end valet.

I cannot get wifi in my room and i have told them 5 times that i need to be relocated to the main building. No one will listen to me. I have to get online to work. My room is in another building and the connecting door to the room next door is basically non existent. I can hear every word the people in the room say. It’s really a bummer and a really bad experience. Stay away from room 214

I gave the property a "good" rating though a few things could have made it excellent. Pluses include the Eden pool, walkability to restaurants/bars, the gym, the size of our room, the amenities in our room, balcony, friendliness of staff, availability of room cleaning. The one thing that bothered me the most was there was construction above and below our room on certain days and I was not aware prior to my stay that we would experience the noise and the debris that fell onto our balcony. I would not recommend eating dinner at the "Top" restaurant. The price of food and drinks is high compared to much higher quality restaurants a short walk away. The food was mediocre. The spa services are great but the price is high even by American standards. I had an amazing massage but it seems not many people do. There are a lot of great spas in town that offer lower prices for similar quality. This was my second stay at Almar and I would go back for another in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at The Almar, and the Mantamar Beach Club too! Staff was very friendly...they helped make our first trip to PV awesome. Taxis outside the main entrance helped to eliminate Uber waits, when we did need a ride, but we were right in the heart of Zona Romantica, and walked most places. I would definitely stay here again!

You have to go to a 2 hour session of time share deal. Not Great but manageable. none of the pool areas wanted to charge drinks back to room. and you were charged extra for the coffee packets for room. Nice experience though not the greatest for sure. and charged a lot for maintenance fees.

We arrived there. Didn’t like our room at second floor. I ask the front removed from the desk if we can get a room at 3 or 4 floor. They couldn’t help us ., What is the manager Recardo was very Rude, unfriendly our room was very noisy , no view at all by beach club. False advertising. Some time we were awake at 2 or 3 Am noise of street. They were working at Beach club. We were there for 10 Days. We paid $$ per resort fee. I have experience. This in my entire traveling all over the world. That they give you one pack coffee for one day. You have to pay $$ for each day. Paying $$ per day in for 2 for one day stay. No dam coffee. You have walk 15 min walk to get coffee. But the stuff at Restaurants , cleaning Room , pool area. Very nice. Election structure. Also Io had known there were Bear weekend going on there. We were stay some other place. Very bad part as everyone in facebook, Tick Tok know about the incident. Someone from Bears guys Sh.. on the pool . Health Dep from Mexico came clean the pool. Such a shame. Very noisy place.

Coffe does have an extra charge.Please also note that your room was always assigned on the 4th floor not on te second floor as you are mentioning.

The room wasn't clean when we entered the room after making us wait 2 hours to even give us access. The refrigerator was broken with no minibar. The layout of the room was supposed to have a couch with a pull-out bed to accommodate the amount of people that we had. The reason why we chose that room. They brought up a couch that looked like they picked it out of a thrift store. Then it was just a couch, no bed at all. After we checked out, I've been going back and forth with the management. And they have zero interest for making the situation right.

This is a beautiful and clean property; however, the positives stop there. Warning for solo travelers…You may be targeted in an attempt of passport theft (by staff). The front desk agent charged me for amenities that I explicitly declined upon checkin. Afterward, she caused more confusion in an attempt to remove them then directed me over to concierge while she spoke with management. Meanwhile, my passport is still on the scanner. I forget that it’s there because of the ridiculous unauthorized charge. Fast forward an hour of concierge trying to sell a membership I finally get escorted to my room. Upon entry l realized my passport was not in my pocket. I return to the front desk and told her my passport is still on her scanner. She immediately replies that she gave it back. I said no she didn’t and told her to get management. Management suggested it must have fallen out of my pocket. That’s when I knew they were all in on it. I suggested to review camera footage of her handing it back to me. Management said they would do it. Fast forward another hour later behold…management came out of his office with my passport. No apology and still suggested that it must have fallen out of the super tight shorts that I was wearing. I get some rest and around 9:30pm someone knocks on my door. I don’t answer and the door unlocks and someone comes in. I said hello! Then she said, “oh housekeeping”! At 9:30PM? Second attempt at theft. Do not stay here!

Great Stay Overall.
It’s always great to stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The view from the pool deck is amazing. You can hear the music from Mantamar, but it is a calm oasis. The hotel is renovating the Sky Bar on the top floor. There were some other maintenance issues that need to be addressed. As you enter the pool deck area from the main building, there are two ramps for those with disabilities. One of those ramps is completely missing handrails. They used to be there but seem to have been removed. Hope they add them back. And, while they are at it they should add rails to the ramp at the entrance to the hotel. Our room had issues with hot and cold water not available in the sinks. It took two calls to resolve, but once fixed things were great. There is construction taking place in rooms on the pool deck level. There is nothing blocking the view of this so when you walk by, you see it. I would recommend they put up temporary walls or something to block the view. There is a heavy push to get you to listen to the timeshare pitch and to get a massage. But if you aren’t interested, just say so and it’s all fine. We’ve been here many times and continue to love it and the staff. Can’t wait for the next visit.

Amazing trip at a wonderful resort!
We loved our stay at Almar! Our room had an amazing view of the ocean, the staff was attentive and helpful, food was good, drinks were great! The 5th floor pool was gorgeous and we had a very relaxing massage at the spa. Our room shower was a little strange because the hot water would change directions everyday on which way you needed to turn the handle but we figured it out and the showers are huge and very relaxing. Our room was also directly behind there beach club that plays loud music in the afternoon, but we weren’t bothered much by it because we were always out on the beach or exploring the town while they played that music. They also are selling membership and will offer you credit at their restaurants or free massages. If you don’t mind sitting through a 1 hour pitch, the free massage and free lunch was well worth it for us :) Carlos, Angel, and Mar were extremely helpful. Great vacation! We will be back!

What a treat! Our Romance Suite was huge, with a big hot tub. The view was spectacular! The staff was attentive and friendly. Was it expensive for the nicer Ocean View Rooms? Yes! But totally worth it. The rooms in the lower tower probably had to deal with noise from the beach club, but the upper tower was just right. We can’t wait to come back.

My room was downgraded from what I booked - they refused to put in the room category I booked and insisted I need to pay more for it. The room I received was noisy located directly in front of the beach club. I was charged for complementary items like water and coffee and had to argue to remove these charges. I did not receive any of the VIP services and none of the services they claimed to have offered. They had no customer service - dismissive, rude and chose selectively to use the language barrier when it suited them. I will not stay here again and do not recommend them.

Almar Hotel Review: Mixed Experience Positive Infinity Pool: The hotel boasts a splendid infinity pool with a breathtaking view. Check-In Disappointment: Despite arriving early after a long flight, the staff didn't provide a room for refreshment, instead directing us to use a public toilet. Payment Hassles: Confusion with Expedia's payment led to an additional $200 charge, contradicting the initial booking. Room Quality: Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Misleading Amenities: The advertised connection with Mantamar Beach Club doesn't align with the reality of securing a beach bed. Poor Coordination: Inadequate communication between Almar Hotel and Mantamar Beach Club hindered a smooth experience. Unfortunately, this is my second time at this property and I was not impressed. The wait staff were good but they overcharge as if they have to make a quota on drinks. I had to have my bill readjusted twice. The room was cleaned but floors were not cleaned properly by the housekeeping staff nor was the bed.
