It's very comfortable place for tourists. This motel was located in the near bus stop and several big markets, so I was very convenient with this place.

lean Motel in Christchurch
We loved our stay at the Coachman Motel in Christchurch! The room was immaculate, the res ice was great, and we were within walking distance of several eateries. They upgraded us to a larger room and our bed was very comfortable with a heated mattress. We would highly recommend the Coachman Motel when in the Christchurch area.

Convenient location to Bush Inn shopping area and Countdown supermarket (walking distance). Unit was a comfy and quiet large room. Modernised bathroom. Easy parking.

We recently stayed at the Coachman motel Christchurch... we found the staff to be very friendly people, on viewing the motel we found the recently refurbished living area was very pleasant and the beds were very comfortable with quality bedding :) how ever the shower was mouldy in places and the shower head would fall off when trying to adjust the level, also the plug to use the hair dryer was no where by the only mirror which made styling difficult. The patio area was not inviting to sit outside with rusty tables and chairs, un mowed lawns and garden not maintained. We were also very dissapointed discount with our nz super gold card could not be given due to booking through Expedia. We wish the management a happy new year but will not be staying in the future.

The property had building going on, so there were annoying drilling noises. This may have been ok if we were notified. Another thing, the Sky TV did not work, only Sky News Australia. Overall very poor rating

Apologized for your experience in our property, we just finished install the heat pump for the each of unit, maybe that reason why you hear the noise. We checked the unit for the sky channel, noticed that the guests' accident reprogram the tv, but now we already fixed it. The job has been done now, please report for us if you have any issue when you check in, we definitely able to sort it those issue for you, like help you to change into the other unit, also, change the setting for the TV.

Handy to shops
Recently renovated tidy and quiet room. Close to shopping centres. Friendly & helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay in this room. Easy parking onsite. Good little kitchen.

Handy to everything, parking right outside your door, staff very accessible and easy to approach. Even though it is on a busy road the room was very quiet.

Handy location
Easy booking and a great welcome. Left our car there hours early before check in which was no hassle. Handy location and clean simple room.

Really grubby do not stay here
Appalling condition, rubbish strewn around exterior, grubby facilities, filthy oven, shower did not work, one small dirty pot and battered frypan.

Short overnight stay
I was literally sleeping in this motel- arriving late at night and moving on early in the morning. Staff were very helpful as I was arriving after office closed and leaving before it opened!

Convenient and comfortable
We had a small studio room which was ideal for our purpose. We stayed overnight for an early flight. It was comfortable and clean and was very good value for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Convenient, inexpensive, on major bus routes
I spend 15 to 20 nights a year in the Christchurch area, and I've stayed in a wide variety of places. The Coachman was cheap, has a great bathroom, is on major bus routes, and is next to a shopping center with a grocery store and there are many restaurants close by. Price is the big perk here, if you take the small studio as I did. You sacrifice a bit on space. I was traveling solo, so I was fine, but a couple might want the larger room. If you are a first time visitor and don't have a car, I would recommend something downtown instead--Breakfree is inexpensive, again by Christchurch standards. Service was good, water pressure great, bed comfy.

Small but nice but at a price...
I reserved a small studio and when I went into the room I was surprised at how small it was. But it did have everything I needed. The bathroom was new, well lit and not cramped. The room might be older but it was clean had a tv,fridge, microwave and coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable and the heater provided warmed things right up. The only downside.. the price was a bit high for a room like this in the middle of the week. I can get a much bigger room for the same money or less...

Reasonably priced accommodation in Riccarton.
Would pay to confirm the bedding configuration and number of people before checking in as we had asked for 2 king beds and had booked for 6, but they hadn't made up the sofa bed for our extra two guests and there were 2 singles in the second room. They did quickly supply the linen for the extras and we sorted it out. Overall, a decent enough place to stay, pretty quiet location and the beds were very comfortable and warm.

An Asian couple who went out of their way to help with all are needs. Calling car rental companies, air port transfer $20.00 ( late at night). They provided maps and information on city. The room was very very small but clean. Good for a sleep.

Good overall value for varied needs.
We are rarely in the rooms we book but most rooms we selected were very nice for the money. The owners were very helpful and responsive when the TV was not working. The rooms were very clean and comfortably sized. No problems whatsoever.

we stayed there for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful and our room was clean, spacious and had everything you need. It's an older style motel, well kept, but could do with a make over. Great location, close to public transport and shopping centre. We will definitely stay there again when in Christchurch

Did the job.
Very friendly people who let us in very early. Wifi was zenbu which seems to get used up fast but as I had been forced elsewhere to buy extra, I had plenty! Kitchen units are dated but the room arrangement was good, I liked the breakfast bar. Close to the airport which suited us.

Not 5 star, but very spacious, clean and comfy.
an older style motel unit, so don't expect it to be 5 star, but we wanted something that was reasonably priced in a good location (fairly handy to the city... about a 7 minute car ride) and it was perfect for our needs. 2 Adults, 2 kids, and we had plenty of space in the large studio type units. Kitchen had everything we required. Very generous with their shampoos, soaps, conditioner etc. Large size bottles of everything in the shower for our use. This is perfect if you're wanting something basic, spacious and doesn't cost too much.
