You get what you pay for
Although the staff was great and did anything you asked the rooms are not great. But you get what you pay for . The pool was dirty and full of rats so i didn't want to use it. Food was great in the bar though but full of dirty old men but all of phnom penh was so couldn't wait to leave the country. Best thing about the stay was the food and staff.

Quick stop in Phnom Penh
Hotel is well situated around a lot of bars and restaurants while the rooms are still nice and quiet. The bar attached was a great atmosphere.

Photos are very misleading, this place feels like a brothel. It’s a bar with some rooms above it, no hotel services at all, we stayed 6 nights and had 2 towels to use for the entire stay. The pool is basically in the bar, just steps away from the billiards table. The stairs leading up to the rooms go up the outside of the building at the back, and we were greeted by a large rat running down the stairs one night. I’ve stayed in very rustic hotels in Phnom Penh and hostels in many countries, I’m not afraid of rustic budget accommodations, but I would never stay here again, it was truly awful. The only good thing about it is the bed was comfortable, and there were no bedbugs! But the only bedding was a bottom sheet and top sheet, no blankets.

Hi Estelle,Sorry you weren't happy with your stay. We actually have 16 rooms which stay full most of the time. The pool is close to the restaurant and bar. Space is premium in this part of town so we don't have a massive space to work with. We are talking about a very inexpensive room after all. It is still a very pleasant space to chill and unwind after a day in the city. It is also the only pool on the whole street except for the Hyatt at about ten times the price whose pool is also right next to the hotel and not much bigger. We do what we can with what we have. We do have a lively and popular restaurant and bar downstairs but it's a far cry from a brothel. This is why it's named Sundance Inn & Saloon. I wish you would have spent some time there as I'm sure you would have made some friends and loved the food. I have no idea why you didn't get fresh towels we have a ton of new ones. Did you ask the cleaner who is there daily or reception? They are always there to help and most of them speak excellent English. As for the rat you saw outside all I can say is there are lots of these everywhere outdoors in Phnom Penh. We do everything we can but even the five star hotels have rats outside. I would like to solve this problem but after 12 years of battling them I can't solve Phnom Pen's rodent issue. I'm glad you found the bed comfortable and we have comforters on request. In this climate most people don't use them. Some other nice touches you might have missed are the new flat screen TV's, the new and very cold air cons and the fastest WIFI in Phnom Penh. It is a hotel built around a bar and that is why it is named as such. I understand this isn't your scene but most people love it. You do get a lot in an excellent location for twenty something dollars a night. Thanks for trying it anyway.Best RegardsHarry

Hôtel des bikers de PP quartier populaire et central donc très sonore et vivant confort très rustique néanmoins satisfaisant,ne pas hésiter à demander pourquoi on a du mal à fermer la porte de sa chambre , on vous donnera la solution rapidement, la proximité du marché central et des quais vous sont très faciles d’accès à pied pour le reste en fonction de vos envies tout est assez simple pour ceux qui adorent les front office oublié on s’adresse à la barmaid pour les clés

Simple rooms but great location and great bar/food
Nice cozy place in the middle of Phnom Penh. Had a small room but a very big bed. A bit hard to cool down the room, but if you are not allergic to the tropical heat then it’s not a problem. Fan in the room also helped. As stated in the name there is at street floor a nice saloon. ere you can get great food and great beer. The staff are really excellent and makes the place worth staying at. The pool is not really something to pick the hotel. But if you want to stay at a nice cozy place with a good bar pick this place.

I had the lowest priced room so did not expect much. Bed, bath very simple. All was fine except the number of small children running around early in the morning - before 7 am. The children were often in pool area which due to it’s small size did not allow for guests to swim. People were nice and room acceptable.

The Sundance Inn on street 172 has a bar with a pool table. There's also a pool (which I didn't try.) Most any time of the day there are usually several ex-pats in the bar having a beer and something to eat. The food is good and priced right IMHO. The room I had was fine, the AC was good and the ceiling fan helped move the cool air around. There was a T.V. but I didn't watch it. The Wi-fi is ok. I've stayed at this place twice, I'll keep coming back. I recommend this place. Laundry service is available, I was told the shirts would be ironed, (they weren't.)There is a laundry 2 doors down that Irons your cloths.

Hotel has been allowed to age a little, and could do with a make up, however Staff are very friendly and rooms very clean. Good prices in the bar .Food average but again cheap. Great location for walking to the river front and visiting the local markets etc.Tuk Tuk drivers around this hotel are all polite and will give fair prices for trips.

Do yourself a favor and stay at Sundance on 172!!!
Sundance Inn & Saloon on 172 is a great place to stay while in Phnom Penh. Clean and comfortable and affordable. Really nice swimming pool. The restaurant has awesome food at a great price and there’s also a free pool table. The bar is fun and friendly and lots of interesting people to talk to and help you get acclimated to Phnom Penh. Live sports on the big screen TVs. Dusty, the bar manager is incredibly helpful in pointing out things to see and do in the city and was a big help to a Phnom Penh first timer. Harry, the owner is awesome and will make sure you’re looked after and have a great time. Good live music some nights. So... clean and comfortable, awesome prices and value, friendly staff and patrons, delicious food and drink at affordable prices... what’s not to like? Do yourself a favor and stay, eat and drink at Sundance Inn & Saloon on 172!

Simple. Room is very small, but sufficient for solo traveler. Many shops, bars and restaurants around. Personal is friendly. Code safe box in room, TV and Internet. Bar on the first floor, beer 1$.

Hotel décevant, si ce n'est sa localisation.
Le personnel était désagréable si ce n'est les personnes s'occupant du ménage qui étaient très gentilles. Mauvais accueil, expéditif, alors que nous venions darriver de France. Bon point, ils ont envoyé qq1 nous chercher à l'aéroport mais cette personne même si c'est très agréable nous a de suite demandé de l'argent alors que nous n'avions pas encore pris le temps de retirer de l'argent. Pour le reste chambre décevante, mauvais WiFi, mauvaises canalisations. L'hôtel reste cependant bien placé et peu bruyant malgré l'emplacement. Expérience globalement décevante. Nous sommes encore au Cambodge en ce moment et ne rencontrons que de meilleures expériences à prix plus bas.

C'est simple... les photos ne correspondent pas du tout à l'etablissement. On a l'impression de réserver un hôtel de qualité et l'on tombe dans un bar qui loue des piaules. L'hôtel est sale et bruyant. Après avoir visité les chambres nous sommes tout simplement parti en perdant nos réservations pour trouver un hôtel correct. Et comme c'est non remboursable vous avez tout compris. S'il suffit de mettre des photos correctes il y a arnaque...

L'accueil est très sympathique et le responsable est toujours souriant et à l'écoute. Seul bémol et pas des moindres : notre chambre donnait sur la rue et il y a beaucoup trop de bruit la nuit !

A good informal well run, hospitable place to stay
All was well, it is a very well run and very friendly small hotel. A good location and all that you need is right there, either at the hotel or really very close by. Atmosphere really relaxing and friendly, the good management staff also very friendly and as helpful as possible. The in house food of all varieties was quite excellent, so much so that you really do not have to look anywhere else for eating and drinking satisfaction... Yes all great...! From Hamish, 12/12/17

2nd time at sundance
This stay was just as good as my first! Stu and the girls work hard to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. I have only given some a 4 star as there was work being done on the top floor with new tiles being layed so it's was a little dusty and we had to climb over thing to get to our rooms, the work was almost finished when we left and it looks alot better! drinks and food still one of the best places in PP I have been too so would stay again on my next visit.

Hôtel bien situé, personnel tres aimable
Hôtel t'es bien situé au centre ville de Phnom Penh avec personnel très aimable. L'hôtel a un bar au rez-de-chaussée très sympathique, mais un peu bruyant si vous recherchez de la tranquillité. Par contre, si vous voulez vivre la nuit de la ville, c'est la place idéale!

Good Staff, Location, Bar and Restaurant
Great place for the price, English speaking staff, good local advice and connections from owner Harry, Rory and Stu. Beds and shower great, as was food and bar. We had 2 rooms and kept one for late check out free of charge to hide in A/C from 109 F/43 C heat which was necessary for a couple hung over Canucks!

Really good hotel for this price
Very good location, short walk to river. Nice small pool. Breakfest and lunch are served with good price. Ask any drive from hotel's tuktuk-driver, he will happy to serve you.

La nostra camera era al primo piano (al piano terra la reception corrisponde al bancone bar) con finestrella sulla piccola piscina interna all'hotel, le scale sono poche ma ripide, la camera è abbastanza tetra ma dotata di frigorifero, tv, cassaforte, tavolo e armadio, luce fioca, bagno essenziale, prodotti da toilette. per una notte può andare, specie se si è stanchi del viaggio. la posizione è buona, si arriva a palazzo reale in circa 10/15 minuti a piedi, lungo la strada diversi ristoranti locali con griglia. avvisandoli forniscono il pick up gratuito dall'aeroporto. al piano terra anche un'agenzia viaggi con servizio vendita tra l'altro di biglietti bus

First time to Phnom Pen
My experience here is nothing like the reviews that convinced me to book here. Bar/reception was chaos staffed with new people without training. Kitchen was often closed or have run out of the daily special. I mean at 7am in the morning coffee has run out and I'm the only patron in the place. When food is available it is good. Needs a capable hotel/bar manager badly.

Room okay
The room we stayed in was situated right above the kitchen, so we were inevitabley woken early - this would have been okay - if we hadn't been on a 30 hour trip to reach the capital, due to flight delays. On arrival at 12.30am we were lucky enough to happen on a kind man who let us in, otherwise I don't know how we would have got in! We were shown to our room, but it certainly wasn't the one we paid for originally. So, all in all, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it wasn't the right room we paid full money for, and it didn't offer 24 hour check in as stated on the booking property features.

Below average
Compared to the next place we stayed this place and its staff seemed below average. Guess its more for the old boys and there newly acquired girls. We felt comfortable there. But everything was very basic and not to a good standard.

Centrally located
Bring ear plugs as the rooms are located above the saloon that offers live music certain nights of the week. Rooms are clean but never did get a hot or even warm shower. If you like to walk it's conveniently located to a number of services and sights - palace, temple, river, etc. Breakfast is available downstairs but not the cheapest price at $5.00 US for coffe, eggs and toast. Staff were very helpful when I couldn't get the in-room safe to open.

Convenient, but drab room
While staff was friendly and the location was great, the room was subpar. Plenty of mosquitoes, ants, roaches, and lizards in the room every night during a 3 night stay. Bed was large and comfortable, but it was difficult to get past the cleanliness (included stained sheets, slight rundown feel to the room), it was also noisy (the windows don't close fully, so there's a gap allowing the sound and street smells to come into the room).

Cheap but you get what you pay for
The rooms air-conditioning was awesome! But the room itself was in poor condition, the floorboards were so water damaged and wobbly that I felt like I was going to fall through them. The staff were polite but not friendly.

This is not a hotel.
Very poor. Original hotel double booked. They sent me on tuk tuk to another hotel who doesn't know where it is. Went round looking for it. Had to arrange for tuk tuk to take me back to original hotel as my friend was picking me for breakfast. Low water pressure that nite and no water to shower in the morning.

I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Phnom Pen
Beautiful room that can sometimes be hard to leave!! Very comfortable bed Excellent WIFI Friendly cleaning staff that left water outside my room if I didn't want to be disturbed I had my bag stolen in the street and given sympathy and a new complimentary key immediately The bar staff are absolutely wonderful. Rory and Tom are fantastic. Even as a solo woman I felt very accepted by the resident locals at the bar. I love this place and although it is a bit more expensive than the many guest houses all along the street.... It is worth it!
