Bear Lodge Whistler
The room was a bit dated compared to some of the pictures on the site, but it was quite comfortable and great location. If you opt for the parking, on check out day they let you park until 4pm in the underground. It’s a very nice perk🙂 IN and out parking privileges. I would stay again

great location but it was advertised to have a hot tub which was at the eagle lodge so not at bear lodge which is where we stayed. we had to walk outside to eagle lodge so we could use the only hot tub, it was one tub shared between multiple lodges.

Great stay
Great stay ! Very close to everything, ski hill and restaurants. We didn’t find it to loud but you are near a road. Very spacious and comfortable stay.

Had 2 rooms and 1 room had a plumbing issue. Ended up having to move rooms and communication was poor. Additionally mattresses need to be replaced, cheap hairdryer, and room was right across from the bar so was very loud at night.

8 year anniversary-with my kid.
Our family trip was great at the town plaza Bear Lodge. We have been here several times and we think its the best place to stay if you have kids or need the extra room. Full size fridge and the location was great. A couple of down falls if you have light sleepers. Night club right outside so lots of noise till 2am. Also no tree house chanel for kids. Everything else but not that. Also no tv in the bedroom. If you can work around thoes things, its a great place. Lucky for us we dont mind the noise. You can also ask not to face the village. I think that should take care of the noise. Overall great for families.

Really awkward and not clear access to the bear lodge. Had to check in at deer lodge after being told to go to Carlton lodge. Check in was an hour long due to some poor communication within the business. The additional fees were not great either, making the room a total of $250 per night, which it certainly wasn't worth. There was some paint and other tools being stored in one of the cupboards, and the towels weren't exactly clean, neither was the sink. It honestly looked like someone had tried to clean the place in a rush while we waited that 1 hour to check in.

The check-in instructions said to get the keys at an off-site location, which was incorrect. They told me to check-in at a different location. The unit (Bear 209) was incredibly noisy as it was on the 2nd floor across the pedestrian walkway from a night club. We heard loud noise and drunk people all night. Had I known about that, we could have prepared with earplugs. Also the pillows were incredibly uncomfortable and hard, I'd recommend bringing your own if possible. Otherwise the location is excellent. I've been coming to Whistler over 15 years and have stayed in Bear Lodge before and didn't have the noise issues I did with this unit.

We enjoyed staying at this resort it is a nice walk to the gondola. Short walk to restaurants and pubs. Shopping is everywhere you look. We will book here again.

The kitchen amenities were bare minimum. Hardly any cooking utensils. No big bowl for salads. One old frying pan. Oven door won't shut so cooking is done with heat loss. Located right on top of restaurant/bar so it super noisy until the wee hours

Great location, nice apartment...BUT
Perfect location, center of village, walkable everywhere...BUT above a bar, music and people yelling until 2.30am!! Great apartment, spacious, well equipped...BUT not very clean (Pillow case weren't clean, bad smell, bathroom wasn't very clean as well). Underground parking for $15CAD but hard to find a spot and very tight. when you book be careful prices are in US$ but sometimes info are in CAD$... Easy check in even if we arrived late on a Thursday night.

This is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
If a person books a room through Orbitz they will get the worst room in the building. This room that I was given was directly across from a very busy bar that was wild and loud until 2:30am every morning. I spoke to the hotel manager (Ben) and he said since I booked my room online with Orbitz and not directly with the hotel, I was given the worst room in the hotel. He also said that if I book a room on my next visit from the hotel, I would receive a much quieter room. I would never have thought that I would face such discrimination by booking my room through Orbitz. I will never use Orbitz again. Also, since I booked my room through Orbitz, there wasn’t any type of maid service for the room. Very disappointed with the whole experience.

First of all, we would like to apologize for any discomfort caused due to the street noise levels in your unit. We are sorry if there was any misunderstanding during the conversation with our Guest Services Manager. Bookings made by a third party, such Orbitz in your case, don't have different conditions in terms of room assignment or housekeeping schedule.It is our understanding that our Operations department tried to contact you but they weren't successful. However, our Guest Services Manager contacted you afterward, we are very sorry if the options he offered to make your stay better didn't suit your needs. We would like to insist that you weren't assigned a certain room because you booked through a third party. Our units are privately owned and rented as vacation homes, part of the policy is housekeeping every 4 days on stays of 5 or more nights and it's the same policy no matter how you book. However, we are always happy to provide with clean linen and extra supplies at no extra cost. Please accept our apologies again for the inconveniences during your stay. Great location, but needs a remodel
This condo is in Bear Lodge-Room 208, Our friends stayed in another condo rental down the hall in Room 211. To say our condos were night and day in comparison is an understatement. I realize these condos are all owned by different people, but holy cow, don't charge so much for condos that aren't even in same ballpark as others. Did we have all the kitchen stuff we needed? Yes. Was it in a great location? Yes. That's where it ended. The bed and pull out sofa and pillows/bedding were terrible! The carpet was ragged to say the least. The decor looked like a cheap motel. Our friends staying in Room 211 had a condo that looked like the W Hotel. They didn't pay that much more than we did either. The doors entering the Bear Lodge are opened by using a key card. They were not locked the entire time we were there so if someone off the streets wanted to enter the building and go up the elevator to visit rooms, they could have a free for all. As an all woman group, this does not lend to a feeling of safety. The streets below were also very loud at night so I woke up several times as I did not have a fan or noise machine. To the owners of this unit, please remodel and spruce up the place. Seriously.

Loud! Great location!
Our room was across from Garfinks which was pretty loud even with all doors/windows closed till 3am...bring your earplugs! Awesome space nicely kept & great furniture. Only suggestion would be a larger trash can for a 2 bedroom unit without daily housekeeping. Clean indoor hot tub! Great walkable location to life & anywhere else in the village!

Good location, needs updating
The location here was awesome. The room was very dated, old carpets, musty smelling and old comforter and bed sheets. I have stayed in this same lodge before in an updated unit, so this time was really disappointing.

Nice central location but noisy
Hotel check-in staff were friendly and efficient. Hotel is starting to show its age. Bed and pillows were old, bath tub is old, duvet needs relplacing. We were on the village stroll right across from a bar so it was noisy.

totally incorrect in what the said you will get. you check in at a cental reception area. you can stay in 1 of 3 places. staff are lazy and unhelpful. you have to drag your luggage through the village. they offer no help or trolleys so if it is raining all your gear gets wet.. the gym they say is there is not in the building its in another.i stayed for 5 weeks and in the middle of my stay they locked me out and my key wouldn't work. so I had to trek to the reception to find out why.they said we want to move you to another room.so in the middle of my stay they wanted me to pack up and move.who wants to do that.then the place has dogs living in it. one got so aggressive that you couldn't get in the lift..management are pretty hopeless and think a bottle of wine solves all problems. DONT STAY THERE. and forget about sleeping 4 in a one bedroom suite. two is about all it can handle.

will not recommend
we stayed at the bear lodge unit 208. The staff constantly told me not to mess up the room like i was a teenager (i'm almost 50) the carpet was torn, blinds were bent and we were constantly woken up by a barking dog from down below. the sofa bed was really hard to open and it was faded and bleached. The shower made a squealing noise from time to time when using it. The fridge was really hard to open. All in all we will not be staying here again nor will we recommend this place to family or friends. very disappointing!!!

Right next to loud club
These suites and my room in particular was right next to a loud club. Drunk people were constantly gathering outside the club/room and being really loud until the club closed at 2am. I wouldn't take this room again if it was the last one on Whistler.

terrible room

Sticky floors and broken bathroom.
Upon entering the room we stepped on the floor and are shoes literally stuck to it. Then in the bathroom the towel bar was broken off the wall and sitting on the counter in pieces. The fold out bed was nothing but springs and the main bedroom didn't have sheets on it. I called and told them the issues and they responded with we will have maintenance up there to fix the bar right away. It never was fixed. I asked for a fitted sheet and told them it was a gueen they provided me with a twin or double sheet that didn't fit. Honestly I used to get rooms like this for under $100 and I paid over $200 a night for this sub par room. I'm not one to complain but this was a awefull experience. Even if a free weekend stay was offered I'm not sure if I would recommend this to anyone. Unless the next experience was much better. This being said I travel to Whistler twice a year with a ball team of over 30 people all booking through me.

it is very good experience to stay here. it is in the center of the village and convenient to everything.

So disappointed. Feel sorry for the vacant owners
My wife and I went to Whistler for our wedding anniversary this past week. We learned there were actually 3 buildings making up this property. We got a room overlooking the main stroll, and about 10pm discovered that there was a bar in the building below us..."Whistler's Party Bar" a sign says....and across the sidewalk, maybe 100 feet away from our bedroom. There was yelling, hooting, screaming and at least 2 fights....until 3am, right below our balcony both nights. Saw the police arrive several times. Drunk kids in our building were a treat also. Openly drinking, blasting music and smoking pot on their balconies. Waiting for the elevator, which is within sight of the glass front lobby doors, we had one drunk Aussie visitor tell my wife to "Open the door, you c**t!". They thought that was funny. Special. One hot tub for 3 condo buildings. When we went to find it, it was filled with drinking 20-somethings. Two of the three bathroom towels had rips in them. We won't ever stay here again. It wasn't cheap, and we expected way better. We went to speak to the Manager today and were told she would receive our complaints. Positives: dude checking us in was nice. Also the kitchen had nice countertops...

Spend a bit more and stay elsewhere
Hotel was decent size for the price, more of a small apartment opposed to a hotel room. The room was fairly dirty with stains all over the carpet. The front desk girl "Layla" was extremely rude. I called and asked for coffee since there was none in our room and the coffee pot was in the dishwasher, (so was recently used) and I was told "they have more important things to do ". We checked into our room and none of the keys worked and we weren't given a password to enter our room so had to call the front desk. The deck was covered in cigarette ashes and garbage. The worst part of the stay was that it was plus thirty with no air conditioning. I didn't notice this prior to booking. All in all was another great trip to Whistler but next time I will be spending a bit more money on the hotel.

Good room lots of space and perfectly located in the heart of town. Small kitchen was great an the deck was nice to have as well.

Very comfortable
Very comfortable, great to be in the village. It was close to the lifts. A little noisy at night after the bars close. The room was nice. Will be back :-)
