We enjoyed the excellent answers about the area history that we got while conversing with the general manager. She knows her history about the local area as well as the state. Such a vibrant history. We will be visiting Chimayo on her suggestion. Our room was very clean, safe and she even went out to buy an alarm clock as ours broke. We truly feel like our business is appreciated

I arrived early morning and the manager went out of her way to accommodate us. Our room was clean and the early check in made everything about the trip go smooth. The game room was great, I hadn't played darts in years. This is truly an escape from the city life I can't wait to return to this property. The building is definitely not new but the manager is doing excellent with what she has. She was extremely knowledgeable about the state, surroundings and answered all of the questions we had. I would most absolutely recommend to fellow travelers before believing these other reviews, try for yourself, the staff is awesome and you won't regret it

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was not fancy but nice and clean which is important to us. The owners were awesome and very accommodating. Even though we don't skii, this is the perfect location between Red River and Angel Fire skii areas.

Not good
This motel is ready for the demolition crew. Outdated, ugly, and the owners know that it is on its last legs, so no upkeep or renovation. We paid almost $160 per night which would seemingly mean that we would get a very decent room and service. It advertised wifi and breakfast and we really had neither. Wifi did not work at our room and the breakfast consisted of coffee, rice krispies or frosted flakes or pop tarts. The bed had an iron bar that stuck out and almost cut my ankle when I bumped into it. No daily maid service. The only good thing was that it was quiet because hardly anyone else was staying there. Wish I had read the reviews before booking. Go somewhere else.

I apologize, John that your stay was below your expectations while visiting us. The hotel is currently under new management and we have been working hard to ensure our guests leave satisfied. Our hotel is indeed not a modern technological marvel but I believe what it lacks in these areas we make up for in good old fashion customer service. The hospitality has made incredible leaps and strides throughout the years so when guests visit we want to remind them that the customer is always right and your feedback is how our business gets better, whether good or bad. I do invite you to visit again and allow us to correct the last stay. Thank you for your feedback

No light in bathroom( sink area), mattress defiantly has overstayed its welcome, major dried red dust entry door to room ,bullet or BB hole in glass at front entry at check in, not friendly changed up dog on back side of property not very welcoming False advertising saying limited rooms availability, not many rooms occupied with a charge of $150 a night for a very dated room with no cancellation I am sorry but I travel quite a bit but very disappointed overpriced and very dated property, charge less and get more occupancy to update property , I am sure they are trying but might want to rethink business plan.

Booked well in advance with a confirmation. We pulled up well before late check in time. Said it was closed!! Nobody answers the phone (rings forever then hangs up on you). Called the emergency number. Some random dude came down - wouldn't give us his name and just told us "we're closed for father's day" and told us to get off the property. Super.

Reserved over five months in advance. The night before arrival the general manager cancelled reservations for me and a dozen others on our cross country trip. Coincidentally we were sent 25 miles away to an acquaintance motel just opened this week. 25 miles in the cold and dark to meet others is hazardous. I will take my 50 stays a year anywhere but a Quality Inn.

Convenient and Quiet
Great location. Clean and updated bathroom. Convenient. Quiet since we were there before the summer season. The bed could use a new mattress.

Not a terrible stay. Hard floors with harder beds. The tub wouldn't drain after the first shower. Other than those grips, it was a place to lay your head.

The beds were so uncomfortable; there was a huge hole in the shower curtain, extremely noisy with other guests just moving, no staff on site or any continental breakfast, refrigerator didn't work, tv didn't work....very expensive for what we received. It was a very unpleasant experience.

This property is run down and not worth the $$ they charge. We had one light that worked by the bed. The other two lamps did not even have light bulbs. There was a used coffee filter in the coffee maker (gross) there was not even a coffee pot (?) or coffee with the coffee maker so we couldn't make coffee. We were provided with a Wi-Fi password but could never connect to the Wi-Fi. The toilet paper & paper holder was in the floor. There was no ice bucket to get ice. No cups either. There was no one at check in so our keys were pinned to a board out front, which is fine but that leaves no one to talk to about the issues we had. The bathtub was old looking and stained. Basically we looked over the sheets to make sure they were clean, tried to sleep, took a quick shower and checked out asap the next morning. Oh-the card that was left in our room giving us the Wi-Fi password also stated they would have a full breakfast in the lobby-we didn't even bother to see if there was one after everything else. Maybe if they tear this place down and rebuild it we would give it another try.

When we first arrived there was no one there to greet us, just an envelope posted on a board with our room key in it. We get the key and it has our room number. We began searching for our room which was difficult because half the rooms didn't have room numbers. We finally find out room, go inside and there are no sheets on the bed, we search the room and there are no sheets. We go back to the front where a phone number is listed on the lobby door and call the number. She advised that someone from house keeping will be there shortly. When housekeeping arrives she tells us she was sick all day, hopefully not contagious. She makes our bed quickly then goes on to check another room or something. Then I hear her and someone else from housekeeping complaining about one of their coworkers in very loud voices dropping the f word several times. The next morning we had to the lobby for breakfast but there is none and there is still no employees in site. We go back to our room and leave an hour later and all no one at the front desk so we left our key in the drop box. They might as well have a self checkin system. It would be more reliable than their employees.

We loved that the hotel was pet friendly and located close to Red River. The room was very clean with updated bathroom and flooring. The kids enjoyed the free breakfast and my husband said the man at the front desk was very friendly. The only thing that my husband and I thought could use improvement were the mattresses. He has back pain and I have carpel tunnel so we are a little picky about our mattresses… other than that minor complaint… everything was wonderful!! We were also very happy with the price point.

The good the bad and the ugly
I found motel pricey for condition. The room was clean but so over powering with pine sol . We had to open door to air out room. No screen on window. No air conditioner fridge was broken. The walls are so thin you could hear everyone clearly and TV's. Stayed for one hour and left and drove home. It was very disappointing. The cleaning gal was very good and friendly so was front office staff. Didn't complain just left. Also no deadbolt lock on door just a door knob key lock anyone could just kick door in.

More than you’d expected
This is actually a very nice clean hotel. No frills but well run and clean. The breakfast was really good. Not expecting much, but very pleased.

I loved the rooms. They were decorated so cute. The staff was friendly as well and very helpful. I would have liked air conditioning or screens on the windows. We let in a lot of bugs and couldn't sleep with window open for fear of critters crawling in....lol. Other than that, we loved this place and will definately be back and recommend it to others.

Great place for an overnight stay! Simple, clean and comfortable…staff was very friendly and welcoming. Full hot breakfast to start the day was a very nice treat!

Staying here was a last minute choice. The hotel appears to be undergoing renovation, but our room was clean and convenient. The area was peaceful and quiet. Not having AC wouldn't have been a problem if there had been screens on the windows; the fan provided was sufficient to circulate the cool July mountain air. Wifi worked but internet access was down. The rate seemed high for a basic, clean room, but choices are limited in the area.

The staff were wonderful. However, there was no air conditioning and the room was over 90 degrees. We would have opened the window, but there were no screens in it and the window fan was not the appropriate size to fit the window. The employee ended up giving us his oscillating fan because they had no other fans and we sat it in the open door and let it blow the cool air in from outside. The fan in the bathroom blew horribly hot air down into the bathroom instead of pulling air upwards.
