Our stay at the Babcock house was great. The house is well maintained with a lot of old time character. Importantly, the beds were comfortable and my wife and I both slept well.The breakfasts were excellent. I highly recommend the Babcock House.

Loved the room and breakfast was delicious! We were welcomed with a cup of warm apple cider that was spot on. We will definitely come back.

Talia was excellent host. Charles an excellent cook. Had great dinner at reasonable prices and breakfast included home-cured maple bacon. Room was comfortable and well-appointed. Will definitely stay there again when in Appomattox or Farmville area.

The atmosphere and staff were amazing. Situated just a block or so from "downtown" Appomattox, VA, the property is both convenient and beautiful. The innkeeper greeted us with a huge Southern smile and made us feel like valued family members. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The on-site restaurant was exceptional both in terms of service and food quality. Our wait person, Rochelle, took great care of us. The menu had sufficient variety and the meatloaf was delicious! Our stay was only for a single night due to time constraints, but we would go back for a longer visit. The breakfast on the morning of our departure was very good with eggs to order, grits, and delicious bacon. A fantastic find and great place to stay!

This is an absolute gem of a property. The owners have thought of every amenity in their beautifully furnished rooms. More than that, the House serves fabulous food on Wednesday-Sunday evenings. And wait - the breakfast offered to overnight guests is AMAZING. Do not miss The Babcock House. It was a highlight of our entire vacation!

A great experience
We loved Babcock House. Hosts, Talia and Charles, were charming and the other guests were interesting and nice to chat with. The food was amazing--Charles really knows how cook first-rate gourmet food. My husband and I explored the National Park at Appomattox Courthouse. Afterwards, coming back to Babcock House with it's ancient trees and old-fashioned interiors the life of that town during the war became more accessible.

Way above average: clean, comfortable and friendly
This b&b was great. Talia and her staff were exceptionally pleasant. The room, with private bathroom, was very clean and comfortable. And the food in their restaurant was superior. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone considering staying in the Appomattox area.

The Babcock House exceeded my expectations. The room and amenities were top shelf. The breakfast was delicious and healthy each day. The dinners were up there with any other exclusive city restaurant. It appeared that the chef used a variety of cooking techniques and ingredients to create his dinners. This bed and breakfast is one of the best I have stayed at.

Lovely stay Appomattox
This is a lovely bed and breakfast. Comfortable room and well appointed. We enjoyed a very good dinner in the restaurant there—one of the best meals we have had on our 3 week road trip.

Love staying in this historic and lovely Bed and Breakfast! The owners are gracious and so sweet. The breakfast was flavorful and made to order. We also had dinner in their restaurant. The chef is excellent and his food was outstanding! The value for staying and enjoying their meals was reasonable. I will return to this lovely historic inn.

Our stay at the Babcock house was outstanding. The staff was very accomodating and the food was stellar. All of the food served to us was fresh and delicious. In fact, during our entire stay, the best food we ate was at the Babcock house. The accommodations pull you into the 19th century which makes the experience of visiting a historical site that much more engaging and satisfying. We stayed here rather than in a traditional hotel while attending graduation at Liberty University. The location allows you to enjoy the rich history of Appomattox while in close proximity to Liberty's campus in Lynchburg. This place is truly a gem and if you're in the area be sure to visit. Other than the graduation itself, the Babcock house was the highlight of our trip.

Perfect B&B
We spend two wonderful days. The room was clean, really nice and unique. All the available rooms are open so you can enjoy and see all the different decoration. Bed was super confortable, local and very nice toiletries available in the room and hostess so welcoming and available. Then you go to breakfast in the morning and you definitely say that you will be back! It was gorgeous, made with fresh products and so well prepared. We also dine one night there and diner was as good and well prepared than breakfast. Nothing else to say than try it!
