This was clearly the only decent hotel in Lovocice, and I suspect for some distance around. It does appear to have recently been renovated and upgraded with new bedrooms and a spa/swimming pool block, etc. The staff were all charming and helpful, even lending me an iPhone charger when mine refused to work, and all the reception staff spoke good enough English, something of a rarity in this little travelled part of Bohemia. The bedroom was large but rather stark - no pictures on the walls, etc - and the bed very hard, but I seemed to sleep reasonably well anyway. The modern bathroom had a good overhead and handheld shower fitting, and plenty of hot water. I ate once in their Patriot restaurant. Delicious pork tenderloin with veg and a bottle of excellent local Chardonnay all for about £13. Lovocice is a small but pleasant town on the banks of the Elbe (Laben) and if you find yourself there, the LEV is the place to stay.
