This is a beautifully restored boutique hotel in the centre of the walled city. The restaurant was amazing and the additional touches like complimentary afternoon tea and happy hour drinks made it hard to leave! The manager deserves special attention for his personal attention. We are very grateful to him for organising our pre-departure PCR tests and making everything easy. Thank you! We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Spoilt and Pampered at Fort Bazaar
The Fort Bazaar Hotel is superbly located on one of the main little roads of Galle Fort ! It is a heritage property but recently done up maintaining the integrity of the old style they have modernised it to be contemporary ! The ambience is just beautiful but what made our stay exceptional were the very welcoming staff that always had a smile - were jovial and happy and made you feel so special that they left a lasting impression! A special mention has to be made of Thuan at reception who went out of his way to organise an external hair stylist for my mom and me so we didn’t have to leave Galle Fort searching for a salon ! The bar - restaurant at Fort Bazaar is particularly nice , relaxed, chilled out with exceptionally nice staff like Manoj who took super care of us and the manager Mendes ! Our short 2 night stay could have been longer and left us wanting more ! We will definitely be back to stay here with such warm hospitality and lovely people !

Beautifully designed hotel, which captures the essence of Galle's colonial past. Minimalist yet cosy interior to the bedroom, which utlised the high ceilings and open space extremely well. The library area upstairs was particularly serene and a welcome retreat after walking around in the heat. The breakfast was absolutely superb - Hoppers Florentine was delicious.

The hotel is wonderfully located; right in the middle of the fort complex. Rooms were on the small side but nicely decorated and thoughtful layout. Our checkin was very slow with little explanation for delays but in fairness it was on a Sunday and I don’t think it was the regular staff.

Beautifully restored property in the fort area. The hotel is in s great location and staff are friendly, helpful and want to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Rooms are fresh, modern and well equipped.

this property is a true oasis, a real gem. meticulous finishing, great common areas that you can actually enjoy relaxing. the restaurant serves incredible breakfast included in our rate. No alcohol as yet, however bring your own, they even chilled and served our bottle of prosecco

Nice hotel in Galle
Good location inside walls of the fort. Attractive historic hotel. Still working to get liquor license. Also, access to pool is offsite, but we didn't feel need to use pool anyway.

Sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, herrvorragendes Personal! Super Frühstück. Nachteile: Unser Zimmer war das erste im oberen Stock. Es war leider sehr laut, da das Personal früh anfängt, das Frühstück vorzubereiten. Das Hotel hat keine Alkohollizenz. Man kann zwar selber mitbringen, aber an diesem Ort und mit diesem Preis wäre ein Welcomedrink angemessen.

Fall in love with the Fort Bazaar
This was our first time in Sri Lanka but after staying at The Fort Bazaar, it won't be our last. We came for the cricket, specifically for the Galle Test but didn't expect to fall in love, almost instantly, with the hotel and it's staff as well as Galle Fort itself. The hotel is in the perfect location - close enough to feel the hustle and bustle of everyday Galle Fort, but far enough to feel peace and calm. We loved sitting on the veranda of the Church Street Social (restaurant at hotel) and watching the tuk-tuks whizzing to and from the stadium but then retiring the oasis of calm that is the courtyard garden, surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs. This is the only place in Galle we will stay at in future. Oh and I haven't even mentioned the fantastic food, superb service and incredibly clean and comfortable rooms.

Quite a new hotel so it’s in great condition. Lovey big room and bathroom. No pool sadly but one is being built. No alcohol licence so no bar which was a shame but there are plenty of other places nearby. You won’t be disappointed as it’s a great hotel.

Period property in Galle
A visually stunning hotel situated in am ideal location within the Fort. Beautiful rooms with period features. A wonderful library with great views of the rest of the property and an interesting selection of books. An excellent spa with a professional and experienced therapist (Pha). This is certainly worth a visit or several. Senior staff were helpful and efficient. Some of the front of house waiting staff were often wandering around aimlessly when not serving which was a little off-putting at meal times. Tuk tuk drivers are situated at the front of the hotel and occasionally have to be brushed off when not required. On occasion I felt bothered by them every time I left the hotel. Still no swimming pool or bar however they do provide a tuk tuk to take you to Jetwing Lighthouse to use their pool. Alcoholic drinks can be bought in the property next door. On the whole visually stunning but lacking the full 5* experience.

Beautiful old world hotel in perfect location.
This is a beautiful old world hotel in a perfect location to explore the old town. The rooms are spacious with lovely traditional high ceilings. We also enjoyed walking through the beautiful courtyard for our wonderful massages in the gorgeous spa.

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and great food!
The staff are super friendly, the rooms are modern and clean. The lunch and dinner we ate here was great. The breakfast is also amazing- I have eaten a lot of hoppers and the Egg Hoppers I ate here were the best I’ve ever had. The sign in the bar states ‘ the best coffee in the fort’ this is also true :) I highly recommend staying here and will be returning myself the next time I come to Sri Lanka.

Best hotel to stay in Galle
I would definitely recommend someone to stay at this hotel when visiting Galle. Here are my comments: Thumbs up: - Staff are friendly and helpful - Clean big rooms with brand new amenities - Many good spots around the hotel to take photos and post on IG Thumbs down: - Breakfast wasn't that good - Wifi signal was weak (Although I noticed Wifi was bad in every hotel I stayed in Sri Lanka)

Beautiful hotel, Great Location
This is a fantastic hotel, the room, the restaurant, the bar and the common areas were all beautiful. It is in a great location less than a minute walk to most of the shops and restaurants in Galle and about 2 minutes to the water. The staff are very accommodating and incredibly friendly and there is a tuk tuk stand directly out front with their prices posted. The only issues were that while the WIFI worked in the common areas it was slow in our room. Also the bar did not serve alcohol but let you bring your own in, a minor inconvenience but it was a little surprising given how fantastic the bar area was.

Solo Trip in Galle Fort
Fort Bazaar was one of the nicest hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka. It was the perfect combination of modern and classic. Most importantly, the service was impeccable from arrival to departure. I especially enjoyed the complimentary beverages in the fridge after a hot day of sightseeing and the tea and cakes in the afternoon. These are the little gestures that go a long way.

Great location great hotel
This staff are lovely and the hotel is gorgeous no complaints. At the time of staying the pool was under renovation but the hotel arranged for us to use the facilities at another 5 star hotel and paid for our tuk tuk both their and back. We were impressed with how great the service was. The hotel also arranged transfers for us which were very good on time and drivers very cautious and polite. This is one of the best places to stay in Galle in both our own opinion and also from what we were told by other travellers we met and locals.

Great location in walking distance of amenities
This hotel is well appointed, the staff have excellent manners and are really friendly and the location is in walking distance of the best restaurants and sights in the fort. Hire the tuktuks outside the hotel for excellent and wallet friendly tours to all the ‘todo’ tourist hot spots. (£30 for the day, plus some extra at some sights if you choose to do them).

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the Fort
We spent 2 nights at Fort Bazaar at the beginning of our honeymoon and it was a suitably special place to start our trip. We had a room which lead out onto the communal courtyard; the room was very spacious and decorated very stylishly (as was the rest of the hotel). The staff team were excellent and very easy to deal with, there was always someone on hand to deal with any enquiries. The free afternoon tea and cake each day was very welcome. We didn't eat at the hotel in the evening but the menu looked good and it was always busy.

Hôtel très bien situé et moderne
Très bon séjour dans cet hôtel situé en plein cœur de Galle. Prestations de qualité et niveau de services 4 étoiles. Petit déjeuner excellent. La décoration de l'hôtel est contemporaine et de très bon gout. Il ne manque plus que la piscine et la licence alcool.

Beautiful, modern hotel with Moroccan character
This is a beautifully (minimalist modern with a Moroccan slant) decorated hotel with large rooms and an amazing restaurant (Church Street Social). The spa also looked fantastic and well-priced, but I didn't get a chance to use it. Centrally located in the old town of Galle, the hotel is in a renovated Dutch building with a courtyard in the middle. The pool wasn't ready yet, but I used the one at the Talpe Beach Club a 20-minute complimentary tuk tuk ride away. We had dinner and breakfast at the Church Street Social, which were both delicious. The mixed fruit welcome drink was tasty and the cold towels were perfect for this hot day.

Modern and refreshingly in Galle Fort
Fort Bazaar is a great hub in Galle Fort. Rooms are clean and refreshing. Food and beverage is high quality. Staff are friendly and very helpful with navigating the area. We particularly loved the beach access at their partner club Talpe Beach Club.

Great option for Galle Fort
Beautifully renovated colonial building with very friendly staff, excellent food and spa treatments.
