A good starting point for walks. The Sentinel room was nice with a good outlook to the mountains. The food in the restaurant was not really special. We wifi in the Sentinel room was very poor.

The bed had bugs. The sheets were not clean. The bathroom floor had tufts of hair everywhere. The restaurant hardly had food. Each time we chose a meal we were told that it wasn't available.

Wunderschön gelegen, Sonnenaufgang direkt vor der Tür. Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und das Highlight war die Wanderung mit 4x4 Anfahrt zum Amphietheater.

Fantastic views, and the best place to start the hike to Tugela Falls. Very quiet. The only sounds at night were the sounds of the horses eating grass. Excellent breakfast. The road to the property is paved, but the road from there to Sentinel Carpark is definitely a rock crawl and best left to a transfer by the lodge. Note that there’s a fee to get to the property (save your receipt for the way out as they ask for it). There is also the transfer fee and hiking fee. Also, the queen size bed is German style (2 mattresses shoved together, each with separate bedding).

Very unique place to stay if you are hiking in the area. Our stay was very brief, arriving on one night and checking out and hiking the next day. The staff was great, assisting with transportation and packing a lunch since we would be missing breakfast. The room was very comfortable sized. Would recommend a side with a view of the mountains if you are staying a bit!

Absolutely fabulous place
Agnes at check-in was kind and friendly. Another staff member came through and gave us some advice on our hike. The 4 x 4 trip return was with kind , informative drivers, Mr. Goodwin, I don't recall the gentleman that drove us back. He taught us things about the Drakensburg and Maluti Mountains that we didn't know. Eddie at the Sentinel parking was a gem. I absolutely loved our stay. Clean rooms, bedding and toilet/shower facilities. Thank you and all the best to you all always

Charming mountain lodge. The rooms are a little spare, but fine for the purpose of our stay. Clean. The restaurant and bar were excellent. Staff friendly and eager to please. Would stay there again.

Bon établissementt en montagne pour faire des hikes. Le personnel est super accueillant. Les chambres sont super bien et intimes et le coté rustique apporte son charme. La qualité des repas est acceptable et les prix sont très abordables.

A good place to saty if you plan to trekk into the mountains. Wi fi is not working - only in the reception area.

Il faisait chaud dans la chambre en ce mois de décembre. Pas de climatisation. A la limite... Mais au moins un ventilateur aurait été utile. Difficile de trouver le repos dans cette chambre quand il fait chaud pendant la journée. La chaleur reste à l'intérieur.

Witsieshoek was a great weekend getaway, with stunning views from each room. Unfortunately, we got stormed out and did not have the time to wait around to go on any hiking trails. As a result, we were stuck around the property, which in itself is beautiful, however it does not have functioning wifi in the rooms (or tvs), which made the stay a bit bland. Of course, had the weather been nice, a lack of wifi or tv would not have been of any concern, but I do think the lack of functioning wifi is a deterrent to many people.

Impressed with the reception staff who were tremendous. Always willing to go the extra mile to help. Example I was a day late because of having an upset stomach and I expected to have the 90% charge in these situations. The receptionist went the extra mile and spoke with the owner and the charge was waved. That is the type genuine down to earth people working here. They do everything possible to make your stay a happy one. They can't provide everything a town hotel might provide because they are situated high up an isolated mountain. But they do their best and more than make up for any lack by homeliness, a warm smile and a genuine concern for the welfare and comfort of their guests. A very enjoyable stay. My only regret was that I did not have the time to stay longer. very well done to all the staff at this value for money and convenient lodge situated with amazing views when ithe weather is fine and a bundle of laughs and great hospitality when the weather is foggy or wet. this is a real mountain lodge on a gloriously beautiful mountain. Well done all at Wisiehoek Mountain Lodge. Very impressed.

Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber, das Personal äußerst freundlich, das Essen von der Karte hervorragend, wenn allerdings große Gruppen vor Ort sind, gibt es nur Buffet und das war leider grottenschlecht

Da während unseres Aufenthalts starker Nebel herrschte, konnten wir die Panorama- Lage nur erahnen. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit, das Essen war seht gut und die Zimmer gut in Ordnung gehalten. Die Baulichkeiten der Lodge sind in die Jahre gekommen und die Bezeichnungen der einzelnen Häuser könnte eindeutiger bezeichnet werden.

Bel hôtel très bien situé !!
Très belle hôtel avec une vue sur la montagne. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables et la nourriture est bonne. Nous avons choisi cette hôtel car nous voulions faire la Sentinel peak car l’hotel est situé à seulement 15 min de voiture du début de la randonnée. Attention une voiture 4x4 est nécessaire mais l’hotel propose à ses clients de les déposer devant la randonnée alors n’hesitez pas à leur demander !!

Great starting point to hike on the Sentinel Peak trail. My family enjoyed the breakfast. We drove up the road to the parking lot at the trail head. There are some big rocks on the road, but you can make it with out 4 wheel drive easily in the dry season.

Warm & Comfortable Lodge
Wonderful place to stay for he amphitheater hike - just be aware the shuttle to trailhead has limited space, so sign up as soon as you arrive (unless you have a 4x4 and don't require the shuttle). We enjoyed the food and service at the restaurant, and the bar/lounge area is a great place to relax after exploring the area.

Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen am Sentinel
Während gesamten Aufenthalt Stromausfall. Es gab nur Abends und am Morgen Strom als der Generator lief. Somit auch Warmwasser erst ab 21:00 Uhr! Zimmer spartanisch eingerichtet jedoch sauber. Mitarbeiter sehr bemüht. Zu empfehlen ist außerdem der Shuttleservice zum Sentinel Car Park für ca. 15€ pp. Die Strecke wäre zu diesem Zeitpunkt für ein Nicht-Allradfahrzeug das Todesurteil gewesen.
