I'm deeply saddened to read this review. The guest is correct - we are not a 5 star 'Hotel' we are a 5 star 'Guest Accommodation' and make this very clear on our website and in all our documentation. This means that we do not have a 24 hour reception. Failure to understand this at time of booking does not fall on our shoulders I'm afraid. I would disagree strongly that 'nothing worked in the room'. The guest was unable to turn the shower on (there was nothing wrong with it, they just didn't know how). After I left them instructions on how to do so, and asked if everything was alright, they said 'yes it works perfectly now thank you'. I'd be happy to hear what other options the guest would have liked on the buffet. We provide juices, cereal, fruit salad, fruit basket as well as a full breakfast menu (with continental options) and have been awarded a ‘Best Breakfast’ accreditation from Visit England. When the guest explained that they were allergic to dogs we kept ours out of the way, however, we did allow the guest to bring their friend’s dog into the building upon their own request. If the guest doesn’t understand why we have so many excellent reviews then perhaps the issue lies with them and their own expectations rather than our failings?
