Overnight Stay
Owner was very informative and welcoming. The room was very spacious, clean and relaxing with an ensuite. Recently refurbished and large TV in the room. Everything required.

A comfortable night's stay
I had a one night stay which was in the annexe, not the main building. The room was clean and comfortable, everything I needed was available. The WiFi was very good. I thought the OYO Briary was very good value for my one night stay.

Good location but staff knocked at door at 10:30 to checkout while it says on website it’s 11 am they turned off central heating in night so it was bit chilli. There was kettle but no tea bags overall not comfortable experience

Nice hotel
The only criticism we have is that it wasn't clear when booking that if we wanted coffee/tea in the room we would have had to pay an extra. Luckily I took coffee and there was a nice big kettle in the room, with cups.

A lovely, cosy bedroom in a beautiful house, and a warm welcome. Very quiet and peaceful. Small car park. Tea and coffee not included, but kettle and mugs available. Will definitely book again.

Fantastic value
Incredibly clean and easy check-in, is conveniently located from the city centre and shops. Only complaint would be a weak WiFi signal in the room but overall value for quality of room was great

Picked this place on the grounds of the reviews and it looked bright and clean in the photos. While it was very clean our rooms were tired and drab, with old uncomfortable mattresses and pillows, the shower in my room was tiny and I had to cut my shower short before it overflowed as there was a drainage problem. The breakfast (not included in the cost of the room) was good. Depends what you’re expecting I suppose but I would still have been miffed about the shower. It’s basically a cheap B&B without the breakfast but does come with that weird smell.

Very clean , the temperature was a bit cold. Overall i would say it is a lovely place to stay, however, I didn't like when I got a knock at 8:oclock and asked when I plan to leave. I was uncomfortable when the door was opened immediately after a knock because I was half naked and i was in a middle of a telephone conversation.

Property was run down needed a big update. Old uncomfortable bed so didn't have a good night sleep. Heating wasn't working but left a electric heater to use which wasn't bad for the room but the bathroom was cold. There was an odour of damp & the rooms etc weren't clean.

Well looked after by the hotel manager Who'd even gone to the trouble of putting a fan heater in my room so it was warm, even when their central heating had broken. Will stay again hopefully for longer.

Good sized room in B&B style accommodation. Short walk to local shops and pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good cooked breakfast available.

Disappointing, and won't be back!
Unfortunately the room we stayed in was dirty, the sheets were dirty, cobwebs in the room, dirt on the floor. When I raised this I was thanked for pointing it out. I am really quite unhappy that I have spent £76 on a room that was simply unclean.

Good place to stay, friendly manager
We stayed here as a family for my daughter's graduation. It was good value, a nice breakfast and a very helpful, friendly manager. Nice area too, short taxi journey to central Sheffield. A good base for us.

Briar Bed & Breakfast Stay
Bed & Breakfast is in an old converted house. Room we were in was small but worked for our visit. Bathroom was very small. Owner was very helpful. Lent us his GPS so we could drive to our next location and use in our rental car for two days until we returned. Provided very good breakfast. Signs could be a bit larger. We drover by it a couple of times.

Since this was the second time we stayed at the Briar Guesthouse, we found it very comfortable again. Close to what we wanted, close to shopping and restaurants - all in walking distance. Sal - owner was super friendly. Good was great

Nettes, kleines Gasthaus außerhalb der Stadt
2. Aufenthalt dort & wieder alles zur vollen Zufriedenheit. Zimmer sind zwar kleiner als im Vergleich zu nem Hotel aber reich doch aus. Zimmer waren diesmal etwas zu kalt, was aber durch eine Heizung beheizt werden konnte. Sal; der Manager des Gasthaus, ist immer sehr freundlich und bemüht alle Wünsche & Fragen zu beantworten. Lage ist etwas außerhalb der Innenstadt aber durch die Busse oder sogar zu Fuss(ca.20-25 Min) gut zu erreichen.

We stayed just for the 1 night, As we were just going to a concert in the city centre, We had a lovely stay, the Hotel had plenty of charm and character, Sal the owner was a lovely person, made us feel very welcome and was most helpful and charming from start to finish, Nothing seems to much trouble, Helped with taxi booking which is only a short trip to the city centre, Literally 3 minutes away, breakfast was very nice, could'nt fault anything, i think its nice to support small local Hotels and Guesthouses as I think they do a wonderful job.The Price is very fair also. Nice b and b in quiet residential area. Room was big clean and beds comfortable with roomy bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Sal was polite, helpful and even posted a t shirt that i had left behind! Good value b and b.

We used thIs guest house to attend a family function. Staff were very helpful in organising a taxi . Breakfast was excellent and lots of choice. Would recommend this to anyone nit wanting to stay and pay city centre prices for hotels.

Friendly host in decent road in Sheffield.
A very pleasant one night stay and a friendly host. Bed comfy but TV somewhat on the small side and irritatingly during the night on three occasions some kind of appliance rammed up very noisily. Whether it was on site I don't know but it did spoil our sleep. Breakfast was very nice although not in plentiful supply. Hotel in nice area and nowhere near as bad some reviews I have seen on this property.

Weekend away
The hotel was easy to find. Sal, owner was very attentive, he rang the day before our arrival to check when we were arriving, he rang when we were running late, to see if we were OK, he was there to greet us and show us to our room and asked what time we would like breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, there was no mirror in the room, on!y in the ensuite, not much good if you want to blow dry your hair. Shower gel was provided in little sachets, but there was some hand wash as well. The towels were nice and thick and enough to go round. Even though we were given the WiFi password, it didn't work and the TV wasn't straightforward either. There was only one lamp in the room. Most of this was just a niggle, as we were not there for the room. The breakfast offering was good, cereals, orange juice, tea and coffee, cooked English breakfast, with an option of a vegetarian version. One fried egg, one slice of bacon, one sausage, beans and toast. We could have had tomatoes. Yes, this was also the vegetarian version. Sal is happy to offer advice on where to go or how to get to places. Some things could be improved, but overall a good place to stay and visit Sheffield.
