Not as described on the website. Way overpriced for the value. Another reviewer likened the rooms to a Motel 6 and I would agree. Tiny, old rooms with no circulation so smell musty.
Provided floor fans to put in window, but have to shut windows at night since the sun doesn’t go down until after 10 pm and to keep out the outside noise. Walls are thin so loud hallway noise.
My biggest disappointment is that Mt Denali cannot be seen from this area at all. This is an interior part of Alaska and while in the Denali National Park, the mountain is still 100 miles away and not visible except by plane.
Biggest problem was staff shortages. The staff we encountered were all incredibly nice and helpful, but hotel was so understaffed that hardly anything was open. Meals were hard.
The whole section with the Burger place, general store, and dinner theater were not opened this season. Only had the coffee shop, gift shop, and sit down restaurant and all of these had limited hours. The restaurant had limited seating. Two of our meals we grazed on snacks we had brought with. No restaurants within walking distance and hotel shuttle doesn’t run enough to be helpful or reliable.
Also, nothing to do in area without car. No bike rentals, trails etc. Have to arrange outside excursions that provide shuttle service.
Would not recommend.
