Nice quiet hotel and clean. Not really a great welcome from reception on arrival too busy looking at computer. Bar and restaurant empty for a Friday night. Waitress really nice and pleasant in restaurant. Won’t be hurrying back

Lovely hotel with a beautiful breakfast. Hotel has nice bar in reception. Also across the street from a park with beautiful trail for a nice walk. Attached to a fun center for family fun and more food options Will stay again when in the area

Arrived at 9pm as we were stopping over having just come off holiday. I have stayed in this hotel over 12 times and never been asked for my credit card before, having been defrauded by at least a couple of hotels I was very reluctant. There was a function on that ended at 12.30am which meant there was no sleep till after that time. I like this hotel but on this occasion I was not impressed

Better than expected
I didn’t have high expectations because of the reasonable price and location next to a theme park but the room was large and comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Perfect for an overnight stay whilst travelling through Scotland. Room was good size, warm and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent and reasonably priced breakfast was also great

Hotel was lovely but there was a clicking sound all night and it kepst us up.down.know.of it was the heater or what but it went on all night so didnt get much sleep

The hotel is convenient for a walk around the lake, however there is a theme park adjacent which may put some people off. The safe in our room was inoperable, which was a touch disappointing. All in all we would certainly consider staying there again in the future.

Nice location by the lake Rooms a little bit dated but good sie. Shower was good. Staff very nice.

If all staff all hotels checks you in like Gary did, the whole staying in hotels would be a better experience. Great direct, human experience.

Reasonably Priced Overnight Stay
We booked a Superior Double Room as our first stop over on a road trip around Scotland. The hotel is conveniently located just off the motorway and in the Strathclyde Country Park with free parking. Our allocated ground floor room was large, clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast the next day was a Full Scottish cooked buffet style breakfast which, although plentiful, was disappointingly rather cold. Overall we were happy with the Alona Hotel as a reasonably priced accommodation for a one night stay.

Not sure how this is a 4* hotel. It was filthy. Stains on the furniture and bedding. The camp bed wasn’t set up for my toddler. The only nice thing was the buffet breakfast but you are limited for choice.

Okay place.
The hotel and rooms were quite dated and the bathroom was missing floor tiles. The staff however were very nice.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Customer service was exceptional. Every member of staff I met was happy to chat and were extremely happy to help or provide information. The meals I ate were great and good value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We booked into a wheelchair accessible room as I had my severely disabled daughter with me. The doors are so narrow we just fitted and no more (she doesn’t have a wide wheelchair. Room was a good size and well laid out. Breakfast had a good selection of food. The hot food however was quite dried up and the tomatoes & mushrooms looked awful. Fresh fruit, yogurt, Danish pastries were all fresh.
