I arrived in the early evening, to be greeted by a closed reception and a number on the door to call. I did so, but could hardly hear the woman who answered as a small child was screaming very close to her phone. I had to ask three times what my room number was, before being able to hear the. number 16. Not very professional. I went to the room, to find it smelling very musty. All the soft furnishings and the carpet looked and smelled as though they had not been cleaned for a very long time, although at least the sheets were clean, and it was obvious that some previous guest had been smoking in the room. There was a loud noise of rushing water coming from the bathroom, and I found that the toilet was running continuously instead of filling up the cistern. I had no desire to ring and listen to the screaming child again, and being a handy type of person, I fetched some tools from my car and fixed the cistern. The next morning I went to the breakfast room (breakfast finished strangely early at 9am) and informed the lady there of the problem with the toilet. She wasn't very interested. I can't comment on the cooked breakfast as I didn't have one. The coffee was passable. After returning home I emailed the hotel and requested a small partial refund due to the problems listed above, then emailed again a week later, but they have not had the courtesy to reply.
