Disappointing
Very disappointing stay. Definitely not a 4 star. Food would have been better in a chipper take away. It was noisy. Such a lot of space to eat in yet we were placed crowed together in the middle of two families. Room was 2 star. Hot and noisy due to air conditioning fans outside yet we had none in our room! Tv was miniature so no wet both beds in the term room could see it. Not good enough in so many areas to meet a 4 star. Will not be returning.

Definitely not a four star Hotel!! We had to be moved from the room we booked as there was an unpleasant smell in it and the carpet had a lot of stains and black marks on it.The menu is selective and overpriced the staff very friendly and accommodating

I loved seeing the ruins of the Abbey just outside the hotel, and it's a very short walk to the town where you can find some great old pubs and restaurants.

Rating not merited
Room fine but service manager entered room at 10:20am despite checkout time of Noon, disgraceful given the system should know when a room has checked out. Reception not overly receptive when this intrusion pointed out. Definitely not a 4* service. Won't be back.

Go woke up at 2am by a group fighting in the hallway rang reception security came up. The group settled for a half a hour. The made noise for the next 3 hours. Call security 3 more time group should have been removed from hotel. The next more at 11.40 cleaner came to door and told us it was 12 o clock and she needed to clean room. I told her it was 11:40 and check out not to 12 but we were going now. I thought it very rude especially after get no sleep that night.

Everything was ok until half 4 in the morning when they started loading trucks , people shouting and laughing whilst doing it , it sounded like someone was hitting a steel pipe off the floor and this went on for over an hour which kept me awake for the rest of the night . We went for breakfast which was fine and when leaving I asked could I bring a coffee up to my room. The girl making it asked me and my partner 5 times if we where residents, I offered to pay for the coffee because I felt like I was being interrogated. Eventually got the coffee asked again if I wanted to pay and then said no if you say you are a resident then ok. So rude and a pity because the rest of the staff couldn’t be any nicer.

Enjoyed my stay at the Westgrove and the staff were so helpful with the Covid restrictions in place and made me feel comfortable during my stay.

Large hotel, plenty of parking, unfortunately it was very quiet and soulless, mainly due to the current restrictions I would suggest but the bar is poorly laid out and doesn’t encourage any atmosphere. Also with restrictions on leisure centre i didn’t get to use facilities. Breakfast was good as was dinner.

We are sorry to read that you found the hotel to be soulless and that you did not find our bar to encourage any atmosphere. Things are certainly a little different due to COVID restrictions but we would still like our customers to feel there is a good atmosphere around the hotel, although it can certainly be quieter on some days. It is unfortunate that you were not able to use our Leisure facilities on this occasion - it has been so busy there since reopening as everyone is very keen to have their swim or gym time.
