Beautiful stay at The Talbot, loved the room decor and facilities. The team were so friendly and helpful with any queries we had. Also delicious food and beautiful surroundings- would definitely stay again!

Really enjoyed this stay, we came with friends to celebrate her 60th birthday treat from us, only one thing the service could of been much better at our evening meal, but the food was beautiful so we didn’t complain

Overnight stay with dinner
Great overnight stay with dinner, all staff were super friendly and professional. Room was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. My request for a bathroom without a shower curtain had been noted and the en-suite was warm, the shower was powerful and had a screen, the toiletries provided were of a high quality and the Dyson hairdryer was a bonus.

Feels like home
Have stayed here so many times it feels like home. Staff all incredibly friendly and helpful. Problems are rare but if they've happened the team have gone out of their way to fix it. This is the most dog friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. Although we don't have one now it just adds to the family atmosphere.

Lots of positives but an arctic bathroom
Everything was fine. Nice room , friendly , but not overbearing staff and good breakfast. Lovely building and Malton is a great little market town . However the bathroom was absolutely freezing with no heating whatsoever and windows that didn’t seem to shut properly This was in the middle of a -2 spell of weather and no housekeeping available because we were late and only staying one night

We really enjoyed our room. It was spacious, good view over Malton. The staff are pleasant and friendly. We were disappointed with breakfast. The hollandaise sauce was pale and tasteless on the Eggs Florentine and Benedict. My poached eggs were over cooked and the toasted muffin was dry. In fact I left most of mine. We then tried pastries, they were so dry too not like usual Danish pastries. We thought either cheaply made or stale. The orange juice was very good. They used to do Devilled Kidneys and we loved those for breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Talbot. This traditional building is very tastefully decorated and furnished; and our bedroom was huge! All of the staff without exception were friendly and approachable.

Our third time back for a night and pleased to find things hadn't changed; still very welcoming, warm and comfortable. Went for a cheaper bedroom and not disappointed by the standard of amenities, cleanliness and individuality. Only complaint is that the bedside lamps look attractive but give off useless light for bedtime reading. Food and beverages were very good and we liked sitting in the big comfy lounge in front of the open fire.

Superb stay. Will definitely go back.
Loved our stay at The Talbot. The room was lovely, very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Appreciated the little touches such as Nespresso machine, dyson hairdryer and Divine chocolate bars. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. The bedroom would benefit from secondary glazing on the windows, this would have made the room cosier and also improve the ‘eco-rating’.

It is a lovely, well-established, mature hotel with classy decor, and staff who are attentive and efficient. We loved the free electric vehicle charging and the roaring fire in the cosy lounge. Rooms had high ceilings and comfy beds. Highly recommended.

Lovely view from spacious room nice touches with gift pack of cookies, chocolate bars, hot chocolates and nespresso machine. We didn't dine in restaurant as we had booked somewhere in Malton but we enjoyed drinks there and the barman was very pleasant and helpful. Lovely breakfast and right next to Talbot Yard where we got lots of treats to take home. Lovely break we will return and maybe eat in the hotel.

Nobody at reception on arrival, we had to look for someone to check us in, the same for our dinner reservation, staffing was limited. Fires not on in the bar and lounge areas, making these cold and unwelcoming on an evening. A shortage of logs was the reason given, yet plenty in the log baskets. Sunday lunch was average, we have had much better Sunday lunches here in there past. Not as good as our earlier visits, everything was a bit lacking.

This hotel is really lovely. It feels unique and is beautifully styled throughout. The staff are so friendly and could nt do enough to make stay wonderful. The food was really good Will definitely recommend to friends and will return in the future

One of the best hotels that we've stayed in.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Lovely helpful staff. Gorgeous meals. Beautiful decor and rooms. Our 2nd visit. and it won't be our last. We highly recommend The Talbot Hotel. We do wish that there was a lift though....as our group of six is rather aged and climbing all the stairs was a trial....

Always a treat to stay at the Talbot.
Always a treat to stay at the Talbot. The staff are always so accommodating. On arrival , we asked for a room with not too many flights of stairs and the room they found us was a lovely upgrade. So that was a nice surprise.

Absolutely stunning.
It was our first time staying in Malton and we had a great time. The hotel was so amazing that we will be booking again for later in the year. The only negative thing was the road noise which they did their best to reduce but it was bad.

Great weekend
Had a very enjoyable stay at The Talbot. Service was second to none and every member of staff was welcoming and helpful. We had a Sunday roast which was superb. The only downside is that the decor is a little tired and it could do with makeover and there is no lift.

AN excellent hotel
We stayed for two nights at the Talbot Hotel and ate at the hotel both nights we thought the staff we all very friendly, smiley and helpful. The food was of a very good standard and the cooked breakfast were lovely. overall we would recommend the hotel.
