The location is great - in the heart of Old Town of Cartagena with easy access to most attractions. It was clean and I, as a single woman traveler, felt very safe.
Kevin, the manager during my third day there, was most competent!
Suggestions for improvement: Jessica, the other manager, was standoffish when I entered the property. She had no clue about Expedia VIP status and I did not even get a complimentary bottle of water! "Included" breakfast just included coffee, eggs of choice and one tiny arepa! No bread or water! Property had construction going on but it wasn't noisy. Jessica was insightful and kind on my second day and offered me a large sun-blocking umbrella when she heard I was going to Castillo de San Felipe, which was super helpful. However, when I was leaving the hotel my third day, she offered to call a taxi for the airport and asked me to pay COP 50,000. On arriving at the airport, the cab driver said the fare was COP 26.500 and the amount of the tip (propina) is usually 10 percent. Weird, on Jessica's part.
