Quite obvious that our 3 bdr apartment is more typically used for longer staying guests/emergency housing. No dishwashing liquid no dishwasher tablets no tea towels no dish cloths. Poor attempts at repairs in kitchen bathroom and bedrooms. Felt uncomfortable that people living out of cars in motel car park had likely been evicted from rooms whilst we stayed over Christmas. Property owners/managers quite obviously running central city/high value site into ground. Reflects poorly on Wlington City

A comfortable facility for an overnight stay. Reasonable rates are reflective of the place. Sure, its pretty dated and could do with a serious makeover but the staff, location and price account somewhat for that. I wouldnt let the kids, of any age, scratch the ceiling though... The staff are welcoming and friendly and do their best to make this as nice a stay as possible.

Very friendly staff. Faultlessly clean. Bathroom needs ventilation, heating was inadequate and the rooms need renovating.

no one had cleaned the room for some time as fridge smelled really bad and had a tray of water with peas in it, No soap not enought towels . Black hair in fridge. Dirt on window sills

It was quite near To City centre and Harbour. Enough room for family with three Kids. Motel was quite old and not so nice anymore. There has been fire in the motel and that is what you see first, when you get to motel, so it didn't feel so safety.

The property smelled and look old and run down. It was expensive based on the condition of the property. The staff were pleasant but the property needs a cood refurbisment

Location was very handy and the free parking was a great option. We stayed here one night and it did the trick - cheap and easy. But, if you were looking for a nice holiday in Wellington, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The rooms are very dated and smell like cigarettes. Every floor in the building has a unique "aroma" and you get a lot of "city life" drunks and dis-orderlies wondering around the area, which makes sleeping difficult with people hanging outside your window hours after midnight. If you're visiting Wellington and you won't be spending much time in the accomm, this is a good spot/location - but if you're planning to relax in the rooms, it won't be my #1 choice.

Give this one a miss
No working TV available. Showers were cold and drain clogged with rotten hair. light fitting above bed fell out during the night as it was held in by duct tape. When this room had had its price scalped to maximise returns during a big event weekend in the city, the presentation was appalling. Wont be staying again.

It was a good cheap and cheerful property in a great location with parking. I was transferring my parents car from Nelson to Auckland. So the big disappointment was the hub caps we stolen of my parents car, even though it was parked underneath the Motel in the garage!

The room was very cold as the heater didn't work. There was no blanket, just a thin cover on the bed. I was so cold I wore my clothes to bed. There was no coffee, milk or sugar in the room and we had you go to reception 3 times before there was someone there to assist. Although it was a budget motel I would have expectef it to provide even the basics.

Comfortable stay
Room was comfortable and reception was welcoming. We stayed 2 nights and noted that our rubbish bin was not emptied during our second day when we expected housekeeping to service our room. Hotel is close to the central city.

Location and price this was a great choice. Plus the bed was very comfy. Yes, it is dated and there weren’t any batteries in the TV remote, but the staff are friendly and helpful.

The only thing this place has going foe it is location i ariive late pull into car park under bulding park infront of a pile old carpet rubbish and flys read the sign on the wall saying dont sleep here for your own safty see piles cigarette buts on the grownd from where the homeless have been sleeping if i hadnt payed i would of driven off go to room open door room smells of urine i turn on the tv picture all fuzzy so i get in bed bed is very hard next morning shower hose is leaking and couldn't move it up without risking it totally coming apart

If the room had AC and if personal was a bit more flexible with the check in time that I would give it a higher rating. Expedia mentioned checkin after 14:00 hours but we arrived at 12:00. We had to come back at 14:00 that is the correct policy but a bit more flexible even a half hour would have been nice.

Harbour City Motor Inn is cheap and we weren’t expecting 5-star luxury but it is run down and our room was in poor condition and badly maintained. The hotel does have a good location, close to Cuba street with a couple of excellent restaurants, the receptionist was friendly and helpful and there is a car park. The hotel needs a refurb and the rubbish clearing from the parking area.

A easy , very handy motel. Excellent parking. We are "strangers" to Wellington and found the motel difficult to locate, due to the one way system and signage. Very handy walk to Cuba st, Food outlets close by. Easy walk to Te papa. We will stay again wgen (if evwe) we return to Wgtn. Cheers. Ted Greenwood
