Beautiful hotel in San Gimignano
This was one of the best experience I had in Italy. The hotel is a little bit off from what the GPS tells you but not too hard to find. The swimming pool is very clean and beautiflu and the room we had was on the first floor with kitchen, workin closet, bathroom and everything beautifully setup. People were very kind and the whole hotel is managed beautifully with flowers, trees and everything. I would had willingly spent the whole week in this hotel if I hadn't book for other schedules. I definately would like to spend more time here in the future if possible.

This place is amazing! The views are spectacular. The room was perfect and the grounds are exactly what you’d expect for Tuscany. The owner is on hand at all times and is very friendly and accommodating. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until midnight. He stayed up for us and talked us through the directions there. You do need a car if you’re staying here since there is no public transportation.

This is the place to stay when visiting the Tuscan Region. Offers stunning view. Property is beautifully landscaped. Rooms are very spacious. Pool was excellent. We will definitely return.

This is an amazing old villa with all the charm in the world. Our host was extremely friendly and helpful. It is clear that he has out a lot of love and effort into his property. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to any travelers.

Very charming and rustic property. It's not modernly fancy, but if that is what you are coming to Tuscany for, you are in the wrong place. The owner is very welcoming and helpful too.

Great location
Beautiful view, nice pool, good breakfast. Room was decent size with no view. Bed was a bit hard, shower was small but great water pressure n good towels. You need a car to get to town but nice that property was high up on mountain with a beautiful view. Great location if u want to drive to Siena or Florence both are about 45-60 min away. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was nice with great views of the Tuscan hills and of the town. Breakfast was average, the pool was quite nice, there was no WiFi reception in the rooms. It’s a 40 minute walk into town to get dinner cause they don’t serve any at the villa. So make sure you have a car. San Gimignano is lovely.

Tuscan Countryside Stay
Gorgeous location. Alessandro’s expertise shines throughout il Casale del Cotone. The grounds and interior and exterior are kept immaculate. Area and location provide panoramic Tuscan views and close proximity to San Gimignano. Strongly recommend vehicle for convenient transport to nearby points of interest.

Great apartments
This property has two apartments as well as rooms. We hired both apartments for Grandparents and family with a baby. They worked very well for us. Breakfast was provided. It's within view of St Gimignano. There are many restaurants around the area and it's close to wineries and other beautiful towns. The grounds are lovely. It could be improved with nice wine glasses and good tea!

Idyllisches Hotel in malerischer Lage
Wir waren für 5 Tage im B&B Il Casale del Cotone und waren wirklich begeistert. Die Aussicht ist magisch und der Service sehr nett. Das Frühstück ist umfangreich und erfüllt alle Wünsche. Meist haben wir bis in den späten Nachmittag den Pool genutzt, um dann Abends kleinere Städte zu besuchen. Nahezu alle Ortschaften in der Nähe von S. Gimignano sind einen Besuch wert und sind oft auch nicht so überlaufen wie Gimignano und ähnlich bekannte Städte. Auch bei kurzen Distanzen muss man durch die gewöhnungsbedürftige Straßenführung allerdings mehr Zeit einplanen. Ein Auto ist dabei (selbst nach San Gimignano) immer notwendig. Auch beachten muss man, dass das Hotel zwar regelmäßig ein tolles toskanisches Abendessen bei stimmungsvoller Musik auf der Terrasse anbietet. Dieses findet aber nur alle 3-4 Tage statt und muss beim Frühstück bestellt werden. Hier macht es Sinn, sich vorab zu erkundigen, an welchen Tagen ein Abendessen angeboten wird. Wir haben diese Chance leider verpasst, da wir an jenem Abend auswärts unterwegs waren.

I would give this propert a 4.5 out of 5. The only turn-off was the cost of the dinner. Upon arrival we were offered to stay for dinner the following night. It was positioned as an invitation and were not told that it would cost us $70 euro. Had we known, we would have declined. It’s quite steep for what you can get at restaurants in the immediate area. We had a bit of a shock when we checked out a few days later and were given the dinner bill. We felt it was a bit sly, which is unfortunate given we had such a great time and enjoyed everything while we were there. Otherwise it’s a great location within quick driving distance to Towns and vineyards. The property itself has stunning views and a (cold) refreshing pool. Breakfast is the same basic options you get at any other hotel. Just ask them to disclose the cost of dinner and what it includes before agreeing to such a charming disceptive “invitation “.

We love the country setting of the hotel which is surrounded by vineyards. Swimming pool is great, not many people in this small resort, and the view is fantastic. Breakfast selection is great.

Great Tuscan Farm Stay close to Town
Beautiful property with a great pool in the Tuscan country side. Close to San Gimignano and surrounding towns. Excellent location and property. Would definitely recommend. Only concern was the A\C was not turned on for the season yet and the in house suppers we heard such rave reviews about only happened once/Twice a week which we unfortunately missed. I’m sure both are just a function of the time of year. Great place overall!

Almost perfect.. almost.
A very nice, quiet, comfortable and hospitable place to stay. Everything was fantastic.. almost everything. I highly recommend booking for dinner on the Sunday or Thursday usually (depending on how many guests are staying at the Inn). The only fault I can say is the beds are ok for comfort. This is the only thing I think that needs to be improved, including the pillows. Other than that.... STAY HERE. If my wife and I come to Tuscany, we will be ;)

Gemütliches B&B mit toskanischen Flair
Wir haben Il Casale del Cotone für 5Nächte gebucht und waren vom ersten bis zum letzten Tag begeistert. Besonders die Ruhe und die beeindruckende Umgebung des Hotels hat uns sofort ankommen lassen und den Urlaubsmodus freigesetzt. Der Hotelbesitzer und sein Team waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Lage der Unterkunft eignet sich hervorragend für kleine Trips nach Siena, Florenz, Volterra. Aufgrund der Nähe zu San Gimignano kann man auch den Abend entspannt ausklingen lassen - Vorraussetzung man hat ein Auto. Ein besonderes Highlight war ein vom Hotelbesitzer gekochtes toskanisches Menü - was man auf gar keinen Fall verpassen sollte! Der morgendliche Croissantduft zum Aufstehen hat den Aufenthalt vollkommen abgerundet.

Grande déception par rapport au descriptif internet de l'hôtel et de certains avis de voyageurs consultés auparavant. Chambre austère et meublée à l'économie avec vue qui n'avait rien de "merveilleux". Petit déjeuner véritablement petit par la taille de la salle et surtout du buffet avec des produits très moyens.

Etablissement superbe, charme et tranquillité dans un environnement magnifique. Décoration avec beaucoup de goût de ce domaine très bien placé . Petits déjeuners excellents. On s'y sent bien et on y reviendra certainement !

A real gem at Tuscany
Il Casilo del Catone was a great surprise for me and my wife. This place is located in a very scenic and privileged are in the Tuscan region, and about 2 miles from the gates of San Gimignano. Alessandro is a great host, very attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcomed. We highly recommed Il Casilo.

In der direkten Nähe von San Gimignano liegt diese Unterkunft in den Weinbergen. Ideale Ausgangslage um Trips nach Siena, Florenz oder ins Chianti zu unternehmen. Die Unterkunft sagt uns sehr zu, immerhin waren wir diesmal schon das zweite mal dort. Das Frühstück war gut und nicht nur italienisch wie sonst üblich. Leider wurde es nachts schon ein wenig kühl,

Wonderful B&B close to San Gimignano
We stayed in this B&B while exploring Tuscany by car. We drove to nearby cities and towns including San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and Florence. We visited 5 wineries and 2 museums and the Duomo in Siena. We hope to return soon.

BELLE BÂTISSE AU CŒUR DE LA TOSCANE
Bon accueil, belle propriété au cœur de la Toscane et non loin de San Gimignano. Carla, l'employée qui s'occupe des petits déjeuners et des chambres est particulièrement souriante et très serviable. Il est agréable de pouvoir profiter de la piscine au retour des visites car, la chaleur fut étouffante en cette seconde quinzaine du mois d’août. Le propriétaire propose des repas 2 à 3 fois par semaine. Nous avons donc mangé sur place un soir. Le repas complet (eau, vin, digestif inclus et gratuit pour notre fille de 6 ans) fut bon mais, rien d'exceptionnel pour une prestation facturée 40 euros par personne. Points négatifs concernant notre séjour : la climatisation dans la chambre avait du mal à suivre tellement il faisait chaud et durant la nuit impossible de laisser les fenêtres ouvertes car, il y avait énormément de moustiques. Il serait judicieux d'installer des moustiquaires aux fenêtres afin de pouvoir profiter de la fraîcheur de la nuit. Dernière remarque : le matelas était beaucoup trop mou à notre goût.

Excellent setting and friendly staff
Set on the outskirts of San Gimignano, this is a gem of a B&B. It offers tranquility away from the nearby frenetic pace of the visiting hordes. The Martelli brothers run this place just right, friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive.
