Das Check-IN hat sich um ca. 40min verspätet, was nicht sein sollte. Das Check-OUT verlief reibungslos und schnell. Das Standardzimmer war schön und das Badezimmer war groß mit vielen vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellten Hygieneartikeln. Das Zimmer war leider direkt im Erdgeschoss and der Straße situiert, das Stimmen gut hörbar gemacht hat. Die Dusche im fast rechteckigen Badezimmer ist leider komplett offen, weshalb das Badezimmer schnell überall auf dem Boden nass wird, wenn man als große Person duscht. Das Personal ist nur teilweise zufriedenstellend gewesen: a) einmal gab es eine sehr nette Dame, die einem gute Spots in der Stadt Chania auf einer Karte eingezeichnet hat sowie einen großen Geldschein in mehrere kleine Geldscheine gewechselt hat. b) Es gab eine Dame, die einfach ins Zimmer kam, obwohl das Zimmer bereits vor 2h fertig gemacht wurde. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass sie sich vorher angekündigt hat, was ich aufgrund meiner Kopfhörer nicht gehört habe, aber sie hat mir nicht mitteilen, was ihre „Mission“ war.

Can't wait to visit again!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at El Greco in Chania. It was a further walk from the bus station than I anticipated but less than 10minutes overall and allowed me to traverse Chania Old Town on the way. Situated on one of the most chic streets in the old town, you'll be within walking distance of the city's most photographed sites. Very clean & well-maintained Very helpful desk staff- great restaurant recommendations!

Loved it, staff very nice and helpful. Breakfast offering was a bit narrow but moves hunger for a while. ;) room was cleab and nice!

perfekt für kurzen Städtetrip
kleines sauberes Hotel, etwas abgewohnt aber sehr sauber und ruhig. Wir hatten leider nur Zimmer zur Rückseite und schauten auf eine Mauer. Die Dachterrasse ist sehr schön, ur sehr heiss. Leider keine Schattenspender. Freundliches Personal. Frühstück gut und völlig ausreichend. Um für 3 Tage die Altstadt zu erkunden perfekt.

Alte Zimmer nicht zu empfehlen
Es gibt wohl neue und alte Zimmer, wir hatten eines der alten, schmale Treppe, sehr kleines Bad und ein Rinnsal als Dusche. Zimmer hatte eine große Terrasse, das sollte noch positiv vermehrt werden.

The breakfast is very good. The hotel is right in the old town but away from a lot of commotion. We had trouble with the air conditioner but staff were able to fix it right away. I’m finding that booking through Expedia the room selection is usually not as good as directly booking with the hotel. Last time I booked through the hotel website and we got a room with a balcony view over the street. This time we got a back room with a view of a wall. Not happyn it’s Expedia. Rates might be good but you get dumped into a bad room.

Great location
This hotel is in a great location, shops and restaurants and the old port are close by. The Nea Chora beach is less than 15 min walk away. There is an excellent bakery opposite the hotel. We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor and it overlooked the street and partial view of the sea. Thank you to Flora and Aphrodite for keeping our room clean. Only downside was an uncomfortable mattress and a small bathroom. Also if you want to hire a car, parking is very difficult as it is very busy around that area. Breakfast was continental style and was available until 10:30. Thank you to the wonderful reception staff Effie and Katerina for being very friendly, informative and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much to Nikos the night staff who sorted out the television problem when it went wrong. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning and seeing the newly renovated El Greco next year. Thank you once again to everyone for a very pleasant stay. We highly recommend the El Greco.

Hübsches Hotel in der Altstadt von Chania
Voller Erwartung kamen wir am Nachmittag des 26.06.18 im hübschen Hotel "El Greco" in der Altstadt von Chania an. Nach dem Einchecken gingen wir zu unseren Zimmern. Dort erwartete uns eine Überraschung: eine Art möblierte Abstellkammer ohne Fenster mit einer Tür zum Minihof (eher Luftschacht). Über dieser Tür über mehrere Stockwerke hin rundum die Klimaanlagen sämtlicher Hotelzimmer, die in Richtung Hof gingen. Nach dem ersten Schreck gingen wir zurück zur Rezeption und baten um andere Zimmer. Dort sagte uns die diensthabende junge Dame, daß das Hotel voll belegt sei und keine anderen Zimmer zur Verfügung stünden. Daraufhin zogen wir uns zur Beratung zurück. Nach einhelliger Meinung waren diese Zimmer eine Zumutung und wir kehrten zur Rezeption zurück. Erforderlichenfalls wollten wir das Hotel wechseln. Inzwischen hatte ein Wechsel an der Rezeption stattgefunden. Wir erklärten der Dame die Situation und daß wir die Zimmer schon vor sechs Wochen gebucht haben und uns mit diesen unzumutbaren Zimmern nicht zufrieden geben würden. Nach kurzer Such in ihrem Computer, erklärte uns die Dame, sie hätte Zimmer für uns in einem anderen Hotel in der Nähe. Die Dame ging mit uns zum Hotel Contessa und wir ließen uns die Zimmer zeigen. Diese Zimmer überraschten uns positiv und wir waren sofort damit einverstanden. Damit war die Welt wieder in Ordnung. Auch das Frühstücksbüffet, das am nächsten Morgen im "El Greco" angeboten wurde, entsprach unseren Erwartungen.

Fabulous area. The hotel claimed to be “accessible” but had two steps into the hotel and the lift was too small to fit a manual wheelchair. They did give me a downstairs room but I was unable to go to breakfast as that was down stairs. Great hotel but it is not accessible.

Très bien!
Hôtel bien tenu avec un personnel gentil. Les installations datent un peu (les lits sont ok sans plus, la salle de bain était très mal éclairée), mais somme toute assez confortables. Le déjeûner est bien, on a même droit à du jus d'orange frais. Petit balcon agréable. Emplacement idéal, dans la vieille ville, à distance de marche de la plage Nea Chora.

Καλή επιλογή δίπλα στο ενετικό λιμάνι
Μικρό, καθαρό και φιλόξενο ξενοδοχείο σχεδόν πάνω στο ενετικό λιμάνι των Χανίων. Αν έχετε δυσκολία στον ύπνο ίσως σας δημιουργήσει πρόβλημα το ότι βρίσκεται σε πολυσύχναστο σημείο της πόλης και τα δωμάτια δεν έχουν μόνωση. Κατά τα υπόλοιπα όλα καλά.

This place is by far the worst place, I have ever stayed at. The internet is so horrible you might not even have it. The rooms came with no irons, so my clothes were wrinkled during my stay. The breakfast isn't really much. I grabbed my breakfast out in town.

Très bien situé et charmant hotel bien conservé. Très propre. Seul point négatif est l’eau qui s’accumulait dans la douche. Le personnel était très gentil et je recommande sans hésitation l’hotel et sa magnifique terasse !

Perfect location to explore Chania
This was a 5 star stay because of the perfect location on the West part of old town Chania. The hotel is located about a block inside old town which made its Chania alley location fabulous. It’s just a block away from the water and public (free and safe) parking. The front desk staff person was welcoming and helpful. Locked luggage storage if you need that. We had the trim with a terrace. The room comfort was fine. Wonderful breakfast and coffee. We loved exploring Chania!

Comfortable, centrally located in Old Town
We were very comfortable in this hotel and had a 4th floor room with rooftop balcony. Elevator went only to 3rd floor, so the upper rooms are not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Also, had to find our own parking a number of blocks away. Being right in the Old Town was very convenient, and made having a car there unnecessary. Would definitely stay here again.

Séjour très agréable, accueil vraiment sympathique, petit dejeuner bien complet, chambre grande et propre. Seul petit bruit qui venait surment des chambres à côté mais sinon tout vraiment bien. La situation de l'hôtel est aussi parfaite pour se balader dans la ville.

Cute and Local
Very cute hotel in the center of town. Directly across from a delicious bakery. Parking is not so easy, but available in the area nearby. Short walking distance from the harbor and all sights. Beautiful sunset and views from the rooftop terrace.
