When I saw this property online, it appeared to be in a very quiet, country location. When we arrived, we were very surprised to see it is RIGHT on the main busy road. It is very loud and not as “serene” as it seemed. We were in Room #8 which faces the main road and it was hard to sleep. The traffic is so loud starting around 6am-7am. I tried closing the shutters and it helped a little bit, but not much. I explained to the hotel that I had a horrible sleep and asked to move to another room further from the road. Their solution was to move me to a “deluxe” room but I would have to pay an extra €50 per night! I already spent a lot of money to stay there and I also ate at their restaurant every night (€70-€110) each time so I was hoping for a better solution. I did not want to pay more for a good nights sleep. Traffic aside, you can hear the kitchen below and you can hear all of the conversations because the walls are so thin. We stayed at many country houses and this was by far the loudest. I would not visit again.
The good things about this hotel is that it’s beautiful. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is delicious! Compliments to the chef! (... and Lyda) who is amazing. The wine and olive oil is also delicious!
Tenuta Santo Pietro is a beautiful place but it is just too loud for us for a “relaxing vacation”.
