A B&B that exceeds
Our first stay at a bed and breakfast was an excellent introduction to this type of accommodations. The owners, John and Judy couldn't have been better hosts. I would highly recommend the Yorkburg Manor to anyone staying in the Traverse City/Elk Rapids area.

Very Nice Stay
Pleasant home and owners. We enjoyed playing pool in their game room. Two things made the stay difficult: the bed frame creaked loudly with every movement so I didn't sleep well and sharing a bathroom with other guests turned out to be harder than I imagined.

A very quiet and relaxing Bed and Breakfast
A very quiet and relaxing Bed and Breakfast that is close enough to Traverse City to enjoy the amenities without having to also deal with the high cost of hotels. The owners / hosts are extremely well suited to this profession and have a knack for welcoming guests and adjusting to their level of interest in socializing.

Beautifully restored B&B
I booked this B&B on the basis of the great reviews, they were accurate. This is a lovey B&B with a fascinating story. Judy took the time to tell my the tale of the rescue, move of the house to the present location, and the 3 year restoration. I highly recommend booking a long (or short) stay at Yorkburg Manor.

Great Weekend Destination for Quiet & Relaxation
Everything was absolutely wonderful. The inn keepers were incredible hosts, full of information and great recommendations. The place was spotlessly clean. Great selection for breakfast. Absolutely lovely property. The only tiny little issue we found was that our bed was very loud and creaky - more or less comfortable, but just a bit loud when you readjusted.

Romantic Weekend Getaway
Our stay was a welcoming experience. I would definitely stay there again. Very romantic setting and rooms. Staff was phenomenal. Not a great distance from wine country.

Nice B&B / with Decor of yesteryear
Windows bolted shut - but other than that it is as advertised. Big on old world theme & decoration. Nice host.. Very attentive

Love this place! Our new favorite!
The Yorkburg Manor was absolutely beautiful and rich with history. John and Judy are wonderful people. Very clean, comfortable, inviting, quiet...I could go on and on. We have been to Traverse City and stayed in many places, but now, we will never stay anywhere else but Yorkburg Manor B & B. I can't express how much I recommend this place for those who would like a little getaway.

The Hostess made it special
I'm not much of a B & B kind of guy, but my wife likes them. While planning our 1st anniversary weekend, I kept seeing Yorkburg Manor in the listings, but kept scrolling by it. I am so glad that I finally decided to take a closer look. I noticed that there were many reviews of satisfied customers, so I decided to go for it and booked a weekend. As soon as we drove up, I knew my wife was hooked. When Judy, our hostess, opened the door and gave us the brief tour and history of the home, I was hooked. It was obvious that she truly loved it and sharing it with others. We learned of the original family who owned it and how Judy and her husband John had moved it several miles from it's original location and spent countless hours on its restoration. Later, we sat and read a hardcover book that she had published about the adventure. On Saturday and Sunday, we wandered down to the kitchen where she had breakfast foods to eat and great conversation. She made us feel as though it were really our home too. If you appreciate the B & B experience and are in the Traverse City, MI area, I highly recommend this one. We will be going back again.

Yorkburg For Golfers
Much nicer staying in a 5000 square foot manor than a hotel room. The home was very well maintained with the interior decorating and furnishings true to an early 1900's home. However just a few suggestions. It would be appreciated if there were cups in the bathrooms for taking care of our teeth. In addition, not all rooms (like the Wilhemina) have TV's. To partially compensate, the third floor entertainment level was outstanding with the perpendicular dormers, pool table, television, comfortable chairs and chessboard - outstanding views and very relaxing after a day on the course. Lastly, Judy was extremely hospitable and provided a comprehensive tour of the home and its history. In summary, for my next golf vacation, I would stay there again.

Judy and John put a lot of heart and soul in the place and it shows. Had a wonderful stay. If ever the occasion to go back to Traverse City, that is where we will stay.

Wonderful stay. Period. The owners were warm and friendly and the property has been immaculately restored, retaining all of the character and charm of the original home. Will stay here on all return trips to N. MI.

Great B and B.
It was a very good B and B experience. Our hosts Joan and John were very helpful, and provided brochures and local knowledge of the Traverse City area and wineries, which we wanted to visit. The bed was very comfortable, and the house was imaculate.

10 minutes away from Downtown Traverse City
Owners were very hospitable. History of home was very interesting, and owners did a wonderful job on restoring it. Favourite spot, side porch watching the humming birds, and finches. Would highly recommend it.

First time staying at a B and B. John and Judy are perfect host. Very personable. Enjoyed having the private bath. Very comfortable bed. The house was amazing. Decorated very appropriate for the age of the house. Loved the old pictures everywhere.

Casual, friendly, clean and unique
Stayed several days and did not spend much time there except for sleeping. However, when I was there, everyone was very friendly and there was interesting conversation. The early 20th century house was similar to my grandmother's house in Nebraska, and was beautifully remodeled. I enjoyed Yorkburg Manor very much, especially the talks with our hostess.

Nice Bed and Breakfast
This is a small bed and breakfast and the owners are very pleasant. They were accommodating with my schedule changes. They make every effort to make the guests comfortable and feel at home.

Quiet country setting 5 mins to casino & resort
The Manor was moved five miles to its current location and totally remodeled by the owners. Judy was extremely friendly and accommodating and gave me full access to the entire house, including the kitchen which was great late at night. Setting is far enough off a highway to be quiet yet quickly accessible to area attractions, including Turtle Creek Casino and the Grand Traverse Resort. My room (and the entire B&B) was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with central A/C and a ceiling fan in my room. Quaint bathroom fixtures (claw foot tub with shower) and everything worked flawlessly. I would highly recommend booking this property. One tip: If you want something for breakfast (like a specific cereal), you may want to ask Judy in advance about providing it or bring your own. I found her cereal selection was mostly kid stuff, like Cocoa Puffs, and I wasn't interested in her pastries. However, I was the only one there during my stay (I really enjoyed the peace and quiet); she may put out a bigger selection when there are more guests.

Kingsburg Manor Great Stay
Great B&B, they have done a Wonderful job with the restoration of the home. Wish I could have spent more time there, but we stayed there during a soccer tournament so we were gone most of the day. The owners are super nice and very accommodating. Very clean and the decor is perfectly match to the age of the house, lots of cool stuff.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast
The B&B owners, John and Judy were great. They made you feel very comfortable in their beautiful home. We sat and talked around the breakfast table every morning over coffee. They were also very helpful in letting us know where to find stuff to do in Traverse City. HIGHLY recomended!

What a beautifully restored 1800's house! The history of the house is quite fascinating and well-told by the owner/restorer, John, and his wife, Judy. We would return without hesitation! Our stay there was fantastic.
