Charmant petit riad, au coeur de la médina
Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans ce petit riad. Mustafa y a contribué par sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité. La chambre est confortable, ainsi que la literie. Les sanitaires sont un peu vieux, on a eu quelques petits problèmes mais Mustafa y a remédié. La terrasse est très agréable, la piscine est plutôt une grande baignoire. Ce riad est très bien placé, à 20 minutes de la place Jemaa et Fna. C'est vraiment dépaysant, et nous le conseillons fortement, plutôt qu'un hôtel. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux, mais servi un peu tard à notre goût (à partir de 8h30)

The hotel is a traditional house in Medina , with very good position, you can reach all the tourist attractions on foot, and the railway station is only 2 kilometers away. It has a small yard, comfortable and well decorated,. The staff are very nice and helpful and the breakfasts are delicious. The only dissatisfaction was that our room is a little bit small, and the facilities are simple and old. If the owner can improve the facilities of the rooms, it will be a perfect hotel to stay in Marrakech.

料金を感じさせないような圧倒的なパフォーマンスの高さが気に入りました。 日本で同じようなサービスのホテルを予約しようとすると、2倍、3倍はかかるのではないかと思えるほど安かったです。リヤド内もお金持ちの家というのが分かる雰囲気でリヤドが初めてだった私にとって、貴重な体験になりました。接客をしてくれた方も非常に丁寧で、チェックインの際に紅茶を出して貰ったことは今でも覚えています。一人旅ということで緊張していたのですが、それが丁寧な接客のおかげでほぐれたような気がしました。二泊し、二泊目は夕食もこちらでいただいたのですが、おいしいタジン鍋を頂けて満足です。朝食も、もちろんおいしかったです。ただ気になる点を挙げるとすれば、マラケシュ駅から徒歩で観光客がこのリヤドに向かうのは不可能に近く、駅周辺にいるタクシーを使わなければいけない点と、リヤド内で2泊3日のメルスーガへ行く砂漠ツアーに予約したのですが、それが相場と比べて少々割高である点(1000DH)、また砂漠ツアーから帰ってくる日にもう一度宿泊したいと言ったところ、こちらのサイトで予約した時と比べ、2倍近い金額を請求された点です。それらを考慮しても、コストパフォーマンスは高く、ぜひ観光客の人にお勧めしたいリヤドであることに変わりはありません。

Comfy and great location
Is impossible not get lost the first day to find the Riad BUT is part of the charming Medina. Yassin, the owner, is always there for you to guide to get a great experience of the city and help you for everything you need. The location is exceptional!! Not far from jemaa el fna and not far from gueliz.. you can make all city walking cos its in the middle of every place, during the day the neighbourhood it's a busy but nicely souk.. at the night convert in a quiet zone, it's safe walk through so no worries about that. The Riad have so lovely rooms, spacious and unique with decorations, a great breakfast and smile included every day. If you need to relax after a crazy day, the terrace is perfect. Why i choose this Riad first place? Well.. the location, the architectural details who transport me to other time and the service who gives. Why i could choose again this Riad? The location is excellent, the great environment you breed when you are in there, I repeat... The big smile every day, the good advice and the facilities. I have to be clear about this.. it's my experience and obviously not everyone could agree and that's OK. I loved it.

Hotel mal indiqué, l'adresse indiquée ne permet pas de s'y rendre par soi même sans l'aide des locaux. Veillez à ne pas arriver en pleine nuit, le quartier n'est pas très bien fréquenté. Surfacturation de 15€ au moment de payer sans justification, soit 10% du prix de ma réservation tout de même. Le Riad est mieux en photo qu'en vrai, pas luxueux, mais décorée "typique".

hat sich verschlechtert seit 2015!
war 2015 auch dort und nun ist viel vergammelt, der Patron kümmert sich nicht ( neu seit 2015) keine Seife, kein Duschgel mehr auf dem Zimmer. Das Schlimmste waren viele, kleine Schwarze Käfer im Bett! Es fiel mir auf, da es morgens lauter schwarze Punkte auf Kissen und dem Laken gab, das waren die Reste der von mir im Schlaf zerquetschten Käfer oder Milben oder Läuse, keine Ahnung. Es wurde aber sofort reagiert und der Raum komplett desinfiziert, das war okay, Riads sind alt und das Hausmädchen muss sensibler auf solche Flecken und Anzeichen agieren. Schade, es könnte ein tolles, kleines Riad sein, doch es fehlt die Sorgfalt und Liebe für etwas Service, so kann man einem Gast nicht vermitteln, sich wohl zu fühlen. Der Inhaber ( kan dann persönlich) hat mir erzählt, er hat noch 5 weitere Riads in Marrakech, vielleicht sind diese besser in Schuss.

I have stayed for 4 nights, I have enjoyed my time in the hotel. Staffs more welcoming and friendly. Internet connection is good, the only downside is their is no television anywhere.

Buena atención aunque es difícil llegar.
Lo recomiendo por el servicio y las instalaciones. La única pega es que está escondido. Se tardan unos 10 minutos a la plaza Jamaa el Fna.

La piscine est inexistante puisque c'est un bassin à l'entrée, dans la réception. La terrasse, mal entretenue, mais calme, sent l'urine de chat et est en permanence sale. Personne ne vient vider l'unique cendrier et les verres, ou autres ne sont jamais dé-servi avant le lendemain. Prenez votre taxi par vous même, l'aéroport est à 15 mn du Riad, 150.- dirham pour ce trajet ça fait cher la commission pour le gérant..... Le jeune gérant, très sympathique somme toute, oublie de commander le taxi pour l'arrivée, oublie de commander le taxi pour le départ..... passe sa journée à faire la sieste. Si vous souhaitez un petit déjeuné avant 9 heure du matin, oubliez.....il dort. Oubliez aussi le café, il est imbuvable. Les portes des chambres ne peuvent être fermées à clé. Le safe pour vos bijoux ou autre, est non fixé et très léger, autant dire inutile. Toutes les portes grincent, autant dire que vous savez quand vos voisins partent et rentrent....

Lovely short break
Riad Picolina was just what we wanted for our short break in Marrakesh. It was within the Medina and only a short walk from most of the main sites in the city such as Place Jemaa el-Fna and the Souks. Youssef was a fantastic host, so welcoming and always about to help or chat. The room was lovely and was always made up nicely when we returned from a day out exploring. Breakfast was included too which was a bonus! We would definitely return to Riad Picolina in the future, great value for money, friendly environment and wonderful staff :)

Très bon séjour, dans ce riad, niveau propreté et accueil, c'était impeccable, Riad très bien situé .. Au niveau confort de la chambre des petites choses à améliorer, pas de penderie dans la chambre ou je me trouvais, j'ai dû accrocher mes vêtements à la tringle du rideau qui sépare la chambre de la salle de bain.. Pour le petit déjeuner, il était bien, mais peut-être mettre des fruits et un vrai jus d'orange pressée, car je pense que celui que nous avons eu était en bouteille.. Sinon, la gentillesse de Radidja et de Mounaim font oublier ces petits détails...

Ligging centraal en kamer goed voor een kort verblijf van 5 dagen. Personeel zeer vriendelijk. Ontbijt kon er mee door,was niet uitgebreid of bijzonder lekker. Enige minpunt was, dat er volgens de boekingssite transfer van en naar het vliegveld bij inbegrepen was, echter hebben we dit zelf moeten betalen. Het was ook niet mogelijk om je dit van tevoren te laten bevestigen, want er was geen mailadres. ik had een sms gestuurd waarop ik geen antwoord kreeg en toen ik belde zeiden ze aan de andere kant dat ze me niet verstonden vanwege een slechte verbinding en legden de hoorn op. Maar al met al was het toch een geslaagd verblijf.

Petit mais agréable riad. Petit déjeuner très copieux, personnel aimable et accueillant. L'absence de télé est apaisant. Seul bémol : beaucoup de bruit le soir , absence d'intimité car on entend le moindre bruit ( éternuements, chasse d'eau tirée, ... !!!) .

Lovely Riad in the Old Town
We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Riad Picolina last month. The hotel staff, Mounem and Yousef, were so friendly and helpful and assisted us with booking tours and taxis. Mounem welcomed us the first evening with mint tea and gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to see in the city. The Riad itself is a calm, relaxing place to return to after a busy day out in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Breakfast is served after 9am, so it's nice if you like to sleep in and take your time in the mornings. Our best meal of our visit to Marrakech was a delicious tagine prepared by the chef at Riad Picolina so we would highly recommend arranging to have at least one meal here. The only downside was that the walls of the riad are quite thin so from our upstairs room we could hear other guests' voices when they'd return in the evenings.

Lovely hosts Yusuf and Munim. Great ambience in the hotel and the service was nice as well. Lovely places to visit, especially Atlas Mountains, quad biking and the Hammams and Spa.

Was expecting a hotel, discovered that a Riad is something more like a guest house. It's down a long alley, Derb something. Very difficult to find. Ask them to meet you at the airport. Dont ask kids the way because once they get you there they demand lots of money. Ask an adult, less likely to rip you off. Agree a price first. Once discovered, this place is a gem. In the heart f the Medina city. A traditional town house, only 5 bedrooms, take your meals on the rooftop terrace. excellent, traditional food. Enjoy Marrakesh !

This is a very very basic riad and I think people need to be prepared for that, also the street in which the Riad is located had sewage in it and it is not particularly friendly for walking through. The staff were nice.

Das Hotel ist ein kleines Hotel dass sehr gut versteckt ist. Sogar die Taxifahrer wussten nicht genau wo das es ist. Die Zimmer sind klein und gut eingerichtet haben jedoch keine Aussenfenster. Das Personal ist top, als hätte man sie seit Ewigkeit gekannt. Sie sind in jeder Situation hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wie gesagt ein Hotel für das kleine Portemonnaie! Klein aber gut!

we zochten een riad in de medina niet te duur en het hoefde geen luxe te zijn voor 5 dagen - Picolina voldeed uitstekend aan onze wensen - leuke ontvangst - wegwijs gemaakt voor diverse bezienswaardigheden - prima ontbijt - het zwembad heeft de grote van een bubbelbad - het was ook goed vertoeven op het dakterras

We stayed in Riad Picolina for a few days. Everything was terrific. It's located in the Medina very close to the market and mosque. The staff was very nice, the rooms and beds comfortable. I would highly recommend this riad.

kleines ruhiges und sauberes Zimmer
War ein schöne Aufenthalt in Marrakesch. Das Hotel hatte nur 5 Zimmer mit Kleinen Fenstern oder sogar kein Fenster nach draussen. Darum waren es eher Dunkle Zimmer. Dafür fühlte ich mich wie 1000 und eine Nacht -) Frühstück war reichlich und fein, man muss einfach genug Zeit mit einberechnen da man etwas lang warten muss. Die Zimmer hatte zwar ein schloss, doch es war für uns evtl. nicht genug sicher. Der Besitzer hatte aber uns versichert das noch nie was weg kam und es sicher hier war. Was man auch glauben kann, und einfach vertrauen muss. Mir hat es gut gefallen und würde wieder gehen.

Tucked away from the centre.
Well away from the centre of the town with the delights of the local community, Rooms are at bit small and not well sound proffed so you here all the other guests and street noise and our bed was a bit cramped. Friendly helpful staff with a good level of cleanliness and good wifi throughout. Only 10 mins walk from souks and main square, ideal for a long weekend but a bit basic for anything longer.

Good Riad with friendly staff
Stayed in the Riad Picolina at the end of January. Found the riad and the staff very pleasant. Although the riad is quite hard to find once you have found your bearings it was in a good location for accessing the old and new towns. The staff were always helpful and friendly and were able to advise on a number of issues. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Séjour au Riad Picolina
Nous étions 8 personnes à passer 4 nuits dans ce Riad où malgré la grande gentillesse et disponibilité du Responsable et les délicieux tagines/plats concotés par les cuisinières n'ont pas permis de faire oublier le fait que les toilettes, exigüs, n'ont pas de porte, qu'il n'y a qu'une chambre twin dans ce Riad de 5 chambres au total et les autres ont de petits lits doubles, que pour la plupart des chambres les fenêtres donnent uniquement dans la cour intérieur, où sont pris les petit-déjeurner et repas et où tout bruit résonne. Par ailleurs l'éclairage est insuffisant dans les chambres #surtout dans la salle de bain/wc# et que l'état des sols était plus que douteux.... bon point pour le Wifi, à haut débit. Sinon, très bon emplacement pour ce Riad se trouvant dans la Medina, aux portes du Souk, à 10min. à pieds de la place Djema Elfna. Le Guéliz et le Jardin de Majorelle se trouvent à une petite vingtaine de minutes à pieds...

Very nice time
It was our first time in a ryad and didn't know quite what to expect. What we found was a hospitable guest house, lovely appointed and with a wonderful staff in a pretty good location - we could walk everywhere. The rate is extremely reasonable, it is clean, breakfast was nice and the internet fast and reliable (which is important to me). I would stay there again, for sure. It is lovely.

NOT A PLACE FOR TWO SINGLE WOMEN
To call this a hotel is I think a misnomer. It is a house with bedrooms upstairs which overlook the only other room in this house. We chose it because it looked like a traditional Moroccan hotel, beautiful colours. We took a taxi to a very local area (no tourists just men looking into our taxi and running alongside it). The taxi stopped and the driver called Abdul who had to come and get us as you could not drive any further. From there it was 10/12 min walk down alleyways. It is NOT IN THE MEDINA. There are no shops or people just the odd fully cloaked person leaning against a wall. If felt very uncomfortable; it was essentially alleyways and I dread to think what it was like at night as there was no lighting. The riad (means "Old House") itself was lovely inside but the bed linen looked like old blankets and the pool is in fact a foot spa. We left after seeing the bedroom and took another taxi to a different area and paid again to stay elsewhere. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD HAVE STAYED HERE WITH MY 20 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. IT IS TOTALLY UNSUITABLE AND THE LOCATION AND HOW ONE GETS THERE SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR ON THE DETAILS. IT IS REALLY A BED AND BREAKFAST. I have put 4* for value for money if this is the kind of place that suits you.

Ich und mein Partner haben 5 Nächte in diesem Riad verbracht (im Dezember). Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Es gibt kleinere Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten in punkto Ausstattung (z.B. Aufhängung des Duschkopfes kaputt), welche allerdings nicht schwerwiegend sind und über die man bei dem Preis ohne weiteres hinwegsehen kann. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht und der Service ist super. Abdul der Manager ist einem gerne behilflich, so z.B. auch wenn man einen Richtpreis für bestimmte Objekte wissen möchte, die man in den Souks kaufen kann. Das Frühstück war für uns ein Highligt wie auch das Tajine, welches sein Team für uns zubereitet hat. Ebenfalls zu empfehlen ist der vom Riad organisierte Guide, da der Preis hier fix ist und keine zusätzlichen Kosten entstehen, wie es in Marokko doch ab und zu der Fall ist. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden bei einem nächsten Besuch in Marrakesch auf jeden Fall gerne wieder dieses Riad wählen!

Beautiful charming riad!!
Took me forever to find it initially but by the third day I was oriented and able to find my way back to my riad. The host/manager was very friendly and helpful but not in an overbearing way. I loved Marrakech mostly because it is so different from my home. The square in the evening is very lively and fun. Lots of locals and visitors just enjoying being together. The riad gave me a true sense of living in the old town. Not touristy at all. And a great value!

Dieses Riad ist sehr klein, hat nur 5 Zimmer auf 2 Etagen und eine Dachterrasse. Sehr warmer und herzlicher Empfang. Am besten lässt man sich an der Bab Doukalla Moschee abholen, denn beim 1 mal ist esetwas schwer zu finden, in den verwinkelten Gassen der Altstadt (Medina). Das Riad ist sehr geschmackvoll nach marokkanischer Tradition eingerichtet. Die Räume haben alle wunderschöne, geschnitzte Holztüren, die mit einem Vorhängeschloss verschlossen werden. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber gemütlich. Dusche und WC, die direkt an das Zimmer anschließen, könnten eine kleine Modernisierung gebrauchen, jedoch funktionierte alles. Tv gibt es keinen (hat mich nicht gestört). WIFI ist fast ausschließlich im unteren Bereich des Innenhofs verfügbar. Der Jemaa El Fna ist etwa 10-15 Laufminuten entfernt. Die Zimmer wurden täglich gereinigt und die Betten gemacht. Der Manager ist sehr hilfsbereit und sympatisch, spricht neben der Landessprache auch Französisch und ausreichend English.

Leuk sfeervol hotel!
Wij vinden hygiene en de locatie van een hotel het belangrijkst en alles was schoon en netjes en zooo leuk ingericht, ik hou ervan! We mochten bij aankomst zelf een kamer uitkiezen, wat moeilijk was, want ze waren allemaal leuk, niet supergroot, maar gewoon leuk en de locatie was top! De straatjes in Marrakesh zijn soms wel vies, maar daar moet je je op voorbereiden en dan valt het mee

Autentisk, hyggeligt og meget fint!
Der måtte gerne have stået at der ikke er en dør til toilettet fra resten af værelset. Nu var vi to veninder så det var okay, men lidt grænseoverskridende. Ellers super fint, meget pænt og ordentligt sted - super hyggeligt.

Acceuil tres sympatique ,situation strategique pour visiter la Medina.Pour ce qui est du Riad nous avons ete tres decu ,propreté de la chambre laissant a desirer,matelas tres,tres dur , ampoules grillées,terrasse en bien mauvais etat ,les coussins sur les chaises et fauteuils sont usés et meme dechirés,sans parler des fiantes d'oiseaux !!!! A deconseiller .

Fabulous!
A Riad with a personal touch! My stay at this Riad was a lovely experience. Abdul the manager, was there to help without question and went well out of his way to ensure my stay in Marrakesh was one to savour. Even before my lady and I had arrived, he had arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and back again for a very fair price — this was via prompt email beforehand. All-in-all a top-notch lovely place to stay with staff of the same calibre — thanks you Abdul!

Lovely little Riad in great location
Small and quiet, the Riad was not easy to find hidden down a back street, but once you got your bearings it was in an ideal location just 10 minutes walk from Square, Souks and Marjorelle Gardens. Our Host was friendly and welcoming and cooked a lovely meal for us on our last night whilst waiting for taxi back to airport. And thank god for the air conditioned rooms. My only negative comments would be that the small plunge pool and the roof top terrace could both do with a clean, but the pool was perfect for soaking sore and tired feet. Lovely stay, Many thanks

Perfect stay for a traditional moroccan escape!
Me and my sister stayed for 4 nights and we could not find one complaint! The Riad is clean, traditional and welcoming, situated in a great location close to all sights and the Souks. The manager 'Abdul' was very helpful and gave us information and tips on where to go and what to see! He had some great recommendations for places to eat and helped with everything from making a booking to ordering a taxi. We would definitely stay again, just one thing to be aware of is the transfers from the airport- advice call before to inform them of your arrival and to pre-arrnage a taxi!

Tres bien situé, le lit que j'avais était malheureusement tres dur, le riad est très joli, le service parfait, un très bon accueil. Par contre bien que l'on nous a dit que l'on pouvait payer en carte bancaire sur place on nous a demandé de payer en cash, j'aurai préférer le savoir avant la réservation

Rustic Riad.
Having researched where to stay in Marrakech I chose the Riad Picolina based on its proximity to the bug square in the Medina and the pictures featured on the website. Unfortunately neither lived up to expectation. We arrived in the evening and it was difficult to find as it is at the end of a long alleyway. The owner was there to meet us but was in a rush to get away. We were given a choice of 2 rooms and chose the brighter one. The bathroom was very cramped, as appears to be in all rooms, and was behind a curtain so not a great deal of privacy or comfort. The roof terrace looked nothing like the photos with only 2 broken sun beds and a seating area that wasn't shaded like the photos. And rather than 10mins walk to the square as we were told it was 20-25 minutes at a reasonable pace. I have to say we were a little disappointed and left early.
