Smell in the room was like dusty and old. Main gate closed at night so not easy to go out and going in. Breakfast is terrible, no fresh fruit. Internet connection was good, the room furniture was old but space ok The price was according to the hotel

Just right
This place was awesome. We stayed in the end room, it had a patio that overlooked the kitchen. Loved the atmosphere and location. Breakfast was a nice bonus. Beds were a bit on the firm side and the building is older, but adequate. Loved it!

Hôtel bon rapport qualité/prix et bien situe
Arrivee tardive et très bon accueil. Hôtel bien situé avec parking fermé. Le centre ville est accessible à pied sans problème. Le confort de la chambre est moyen mais bon rapport qualité prix. Le petit dejeuner est correct avec à la demande œufs, riz, haricots rouges....fruits disponibles (banane, pastèque) pain, beurre, confiture et bien sûr café.

Nice Place. I would recommend.
First of all. Hotel staff is really nice. Front desk staff and the restaurant folks are great. Juan Carlos has been there a long time and very nice to talk to. He will call you to wake you up to remember breakfast. Breakfast is a nice typical Costa Rican breakfast. Juice / Coffee / Tea along with Rice and eggs. Does the trick. Room's are basic, but kept clean as you can for an older hotel. It is a smaller place and rooms are on two floors down two long hallways. So if you are sensitive to noise, make sure you have ear plugs. Pricing is very fair. I was traveling alone, but when I was there, most of the the other guests were traveling together from Europe. Great value for money. If you are not super sensitive to thin walls, all good. I would return.

La localisation de l'hôtel est très bien. Nous sommes partis à pied pour visiter la ville. Le personnel de l'hôtel était tres gentil et nous a aidé à Planifier notre trajet pour visiter ce que nous voulions voir. L'hôtel est vieux et notre chambre était vraiment laide sans charme.

cheap and comforts.
We chose this hotel because we needed a cheap hotel for 1 night before we drove to our vacation house. Our expectations were low due to the price( $70 for a family of 5). I was pleasantly surprised with the room and the friendly staff. The breakfast was decent and also included cooked to order eggs. This is not a Marriott but it is a decent hotel for the price if your stick in San Jose for the night.

Overall pretty good! The $40 deposit for the TV remote was strange and unsettling. If I was going to steal a TV remote, why not just steal the flatscreen TV that went with it and wasn't even bolted down to anything?

Safe hotel near Central San Jose
Reception was amazing- thoughtful and helpful. It was welcoming and safe. Hotel was about a 20 minute walk to anything and everything of interest in San Jose. And we felt safe doing it (single mom with 3 kids aged 9, 7 and 5). Lots of food choices nearby. Hotel also has restaurant, but it was pricey and limited in its Costa Rican food. Definitely recommend!

empecemos porque el cocinero/mesero del restaurante me robo el celular, digo me robo porque el era el único limpiando mesas y nosotros fuimos los únicos en bajar a desayunar a esa hora. Salimos del restaurante y el cerro la puerta pues ya no había nadie para desayunar. caminé hacia el zoologico 6 cuadras y al querer tomar la 1ra foto (no traia el celular) regresamos y continuaba cerrado, se comunicaron con el y de una vez dijo el traia el telefono con el y se lo llevó al salir jajajaj si que se fijo bien,ademas que le deje propina y todo se quedo con mi celular (lo que mas me pesa son los contactos que aun no tenia respaldados) un celular se repone pero conseguir los contactos es difícil. El hotel es un poco incomodo desde su ubicación hasta la molestia de escuchar los pasos de las personas al caminar por el tambo, pero que puede pedir uno por el precio que cobran (en el momento crei que era la mejor opción por el precio, pero al perder mi celular de esa manera tan absurda (cosas de minutos) ya me salio como si hubiese comprado una habitación en Hilton. De ahi el dicho que LO BARATO SALE CARO. Si se quedan ahí cuiden sus pertenecías, sobre todo en el restaurante.

Low cost Central Hotel
The beds are a little stiff but acceptable, good location if you need to park a car.... which can be a problem in San Jose. This is a relatively inexpensive hotel that is in a part of town where you probably don't want to spend a lot of time. Basic breakfast, safe environment.

Nice hotel on a quiet zone.
Overall experience was good. I had 2 minor issues: 1. No ice for a late night drink 2. 1st morning i was charged $18 (for 3 people) for a breakfast that it was supposed to be included. 2nd morning i got a "ticket for a breakfast" and everything was better. Food was OK, no fancy meal, but still good. I would recommend this hotel. I would stay again on it. Nice and friendly personnel.

No AC! All lights off in hallways all the time.
No AC, that was unexpected. we are a tall family, and the low ceiling going upstairs was strange at least plus the Lights in the hall were always off. Breakfast is beans and rice and egg if you ask for, being cooked for you, not a buffet style. We had a 9 years old child with us, restaurant if you can call it, charged us $5 for a child breakfast daily, while the room is supposed to include breackfast free with stay. Hotel room was not cleaned for 2 days, even though hotel was almost empty. We expected a little more comfort.

Das Hotel ist ideal gelegen um die Stadt zu Fuß zu erkunden. Sehr freundliches Personal. Frühstück reichlich und gut. Schade, dass das Zimmer kein Tageslicht Fenster hat. Draußen auf der Terrasse hat es aber paar Sitzgelegenheiten.

Great location with fantastic WiFi
The Vesuvio Hotel has a great location, at a walking distance of San Jose's major touristic attractions, it is also near convenience and drugstores. Besides that, the staff is super nice and helpful. Nice typical breakfast included and I have to remark that there is WiFi at no additional cost in every corner of this cozy hotel.

Excelente ubicación y amabilidad del personal
En general todo el personal es muy amable y siempre están a la orden para lo que se necesita. El hotel se ubica a unas calles del centro y del bulevar principal, aunque decían que caminar era peligroso, durante nuestra estancia todo fue tranquilo y la zona bastante tranquila. Algunos muebles son algo viejos pero cumplen su cometido, pues en general sólo llegabamos a dormir y bañarnos. Muy recomendable

Nice hotel in downtown
Its a very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the nearby of downtown. Wifi worked really well and they have many tour options to volcanoes, beaches and national parks. They have a really friendly and good chef in the restaurant.

Parece una gran casa con habitaciones, el personal muy amable y atento como todos los TICOS!! la ubicación excelente,caminando se encuentran todos los sitios de interés de San Jose y ESO ES MUY CÓMODO. Estuvimos 4 adultos y la habitación espaciosa y limpia pero es necesario que mejores las condiciones del mobiliario y de los pasillos la hacen ver fea!! NO tiene elevador y aunque solo planta baja y un piso como nos tocó al final de pasillo fúe incomodo porque no hay quien ayude con el equipaje.El desayuno suficiente y empieza a las 6 am ESO ES MARAVILLOSO para poder aprovechar desde temprano!!

We phoned for a shuttle pick up from the airport and was told to just get a Taxi. Cost $30.00. One of the reasons we chose this Hotel was free airport pick up. We were supposed to have a balcony which we didn't that's ok because the room was so small we never spent much time their coffee was supposed to be included but they kept running out But all in all we were off to a better place so it didn't mater.

Very disappointed
The photos of this place looked great. But, it's in an awful location. The wifi didn't work and that was very important to me because I need wifi to cut down on my "roaming rate" with my cell phone. The only good thing about this place is you get a free breakfast next door at a little restaurant. The breakfast was delicious and it was a traditional Costa Rican breakfast. But, stay somewhere else and just go there for breakfast.
