Fantastische locatie. Aardige mensen en zeer vriendelijk. Ik begrijp dat als je de deur opent en sluit voor elke gast gedurende de nacht dat je zonder goede slaap nukkig kan worden. Ik zou als eigenaar daar een ander slot voor verzinnen. Dit gaat echter niet zonder speciale vergunning omdat het gehele pand een beschermd pand is onder Unesco, lokale en nationale overheid. De kamers zijn uniek en bijzonder om die reden en voldoen volledig aan de moderne vereisten.

The room and staff at Boris Palace were wonderful and located nicely near all tourist highlights of Plovdiv. Couples on a romantic trip may find the bed a bit squeaky but it was our only complaint.

Lovely old building that is very well appointed and maintained. Had all the facilities we require although a small fridge would be an advantage. Great 'old town' location with restricted vehicle access and street parking that was not an issue when we stayed

Don’t miss your chance to stay here….truly amazing
This was one of the most fantastic hotels I’ve ever experienced and I travel a lot. My room was massive and the furniture was very ornate and gorgeous. I had my own balcony as well. The staff is amazingly kind and the owner Boris is unlike any hotel keeper you will ever meet. So warm, so kind. Boris treated us to a wonderful tour of the hotel which includes an amazing wine tasting center, wedding venue and night club. All of this is impeccably decorated and welcoming. The service extended beyond check out when the day AFTER we checked out, Boris secured us a car service from Plovdiv back to Sofia. I will always appreciate his hospitality and will be forever grateful for the experience Boris provided. If you stay get the breakfast.....and any other meal. The food is fresh, simple yet sophisticated and the views as you eat outside cannot be matched.

When we arrived we received a friendly welcome, information was given about how to use the hotel WiFi which worked well. Parking was offsite nearby and free, it was confirmed that breakfast was not included but available for additional payment.

Everything was fine, hotel facility is excellent, don't know why the reviews are so harsh. Parking is on the street, which is safe.

いい宿でした
国際会議出席のためプロブディフに３泊しました。 会議場のホテルに泊まるのも芸がないので、旧市街のこのホテルの「スタジオ」に泊まりましたが正解でした。古い街並みを抜けての通勤は、毎日楽しかった。 旧市街のど真ん中にあって静かなロケーション。テラスから見下ろす街の風景は異国情緒満点です。 オーナーのおじさんはマフィアのボスみたいな風体で、愛想が良いとは言えませんが、根は優しそう。英語も通じます。 朝食は８時からとのことでしたが、会議の開始に間に合わないので交渉したら７時５０分に変更してくれました。街を見下ろしながらレストランのテラスで食べる朝食はなかなかオツでした。 五つ星ホテル並みのサービスを期待する人には不向きでしょうが、オーナーの無愛想さや多少の設備の古さも楽しめてしまう人にはおすすめです。 旧市街は石畳の坂道なので、スーツケースをゴロゴロ引っ張っていくのは大変です。駅からタクシーを使うのがいいでしょう。宿〜駅は３Lv(200円くらい)でした。 近くに遺跡や古代劇場、博物館もあって観光にも打ってつけ。 街灯もちゃんとあるので、夜に出歩いても心配はありません。

In the heart of old Plovdiv
This is a small boutique hotel in the heart of Plovdiv's old town, within walking distance to all the major tourist sights. The room was comfortable and decorated in a traditional style. The TV only had Bulgarian programming, but I guess we were not in Plovdiv to watch TV. All in all, a comfortable stay right in the middle of everything.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sauber. Schöner Bad, guter Wasserdruck. Frühstück Mittelklasse. Keine deutschen(ausländischen) TV-Sender. Zentral gelegen, allerdings nicht so leicht mit dem Auto/Navi zu finden, aber ruhig.

The location in the middle of the Old Town is ideal. The rooms, service and food were superb. The proprietor and staff were extremely helpful and our stay at a competitive price represented outstanding value for money. We strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay their again

מציאת המלון קצת קשה , המלון נמצא בעיר העתיקה וצריך להגיע לשער ולהודיע שאתם מגיעים למלון בוריס יפתחו השער וסעו ישר מיד תגיעו למלון, אנחנו הסתבכנו בהגעה היה לא נעים, בעל המלון בוריס היה עם מצבי רוח פעם כועס פעם נחמד, החדרים יפים מאוד נקיים ונוחים מהחדר נשקף נוף של העיר העתיקה, למי שיש בעיות בהליכה זה לא המקום כי יש עליות וירידות וההליכה ברחובות העתיקה היא על אבנים, פיות נוח, החדרים היו מעולים לא לקחנו ארוחות במלון אכלנו בסביבה האוכל טעים וזול

Sehr geehrte Gäste, In unserem Hotel gibt es 2 Räume mit künstlicher Beleuchtung. Aber sie sind klimatisiert und mit den modernsten Einrichtungen belüftet und sind deswegen die billigsten. Wir sind in der Altstadt auf einem Hügel zwischen zwei Straßen. Das ist typisch für die Altstadt. Wir bieten 20 verschiedene Dinge individuell zum Servieren an. Es ist kein Block, aber wir haben eine besondere Beziehung zu jedem. Dies unterscheidet uns von anderen Hotels. Auf Kosten von Zimmern ohne zu öffnende Fenster haben wir eine riesige Terrasse mit Blick auf die ganze Stadt. Und das nur für 30 Euro pro Person !!! Mit Rücksicht auf alle potentiellen Gäste !!! Tuvaleti kullanmak istedik, Boris bey kullanamassınız dedi bize ilerdeki cafeyi gösterdi. Otelden çıkıncada kapıyı arkamızdan kitledi. Odalar yerin altında, cam yok ışık almıyor, korkuç tu. Birde dalğa geçer gibi odayı sevdinizmi diye soruyor. Gidip park da yatın ama burada sakın kalmayın. Bizim gibi çok pişman olursunuz.

Everything was really great. The only surprise was to find out that the room we booked did not have windows. Apart from that, it was an elegant and comfortable room, and everything was perfect.

Quality facility needs modern management approach
This is one of the most interesting places I have experienced, in terms of location, facility and style of management. It is located in the old town area, harder to reach, but convenient to visit points of interest in the old town. The building/room structure and breakfast setting are very formal, generally with very good quality, but accessaries such as area rugs appear old. I thought it could be much more attractive if more modern management styles are adopted. Here are a couple items that I found quite different from most places I have stayed: (1) no water, water boiler, and coffee/tea packs were available in the room and I was not informed where I could find them if needed; (2) the setting of breakfast was very formal and nice (with tablecloth) with a very limited number of items (and quantity) served on the table, including a glass of water and a small cup of coffee/expresso. When I asked for more, additional glass of water was provided but was told additional charge would be imposed for addition cup of coffee. Interestingly, I noted that the manager on duty was enjoying cup after cup!

Well located hotel, unpleasant owner
The hotel is in a very convenient location for exploration of the Old Town or the Kapana district. My room was over-decorated but comfortable, and very clean. The owner of hotel is abrasive but not unpleasant enough to ruin my stay.

Sistemazione oltremodo deludente per un hotel classificato 4 stelle, in una camera definita VIP dall'albergatore, totalmente priva di balconi o finestre, assolutamente impensabile in un paesa civile. E' vero, siamo stati leggeri a non aver letto nel corpo della prenotazione, le reali condizioni della camera, nella quale era indicato tra le indicazioni importanti di questo essenziale "particolare". E' facile immaginare la sensazione di assoluta claustrofobia, affidati ad un datato condizionatore per il ricambio dell'aria. Ma questo non è stato l'unico disguido: 1. Struttura dal gusto kitsch; 2. dimensioni ridotte del locale WC; 3. il parcheggio, reclamizzato tra i servizi offerti, è stato sulla pubblica via (di ridotte dmensioni), con due ruote sul marciapiede; 4. L'albergatore la sera ci ha atteso per chiudere l'esercizio; 5. menzione a parte merita il breakfast, il primo giorno fornito (pensavamo gratuitamente), dopo aver dovuto comunicare la sera prima l'orario in cui lo avremmo consumato. Per la colazione, la cui qualità era assolutamente modesta, al momento del checkout è stato addebitato un supplemento di Euro 8 a persona.

Hotel très central Accueil pas très facile
Bel hôtel,situé au centre de la vieille ville. Par contre 'le parking gratuit promis par le propriétaire est en fait inexistant et il est très difficile de garer la voiture dans ces ruelles étroites et pavées. Nous avons du nous garer assez loin et trimballer les valises!

Opphaldet vårt i vakre Plovdiv vart utruleg flott. Boris Palace ligg sentralt i den fantastisk vakre gamlebyen med kort gåavstand til gode museum, flotte kyrkjer, eit romersk amfiteater, restaurantstroket og dei viktigaste handlegatene. Flott service på hotellet, praktfull terrasse veieigna til å nyta frukosten på. Estetisk flott rom med god seng, det einaste som trekte ned var blomar i plast...

Great location in the Old Town but extremely difficult to get there in a car as most streets are blocked. The real issue with the hotel is, as many other reviewers have also stated, the manager who is rude and hostile. I would avoid staying at this hotel.
