I have been using Travelocity service for over ten years, now it comes to the end.
My son had a national junior golf tournament to play in Windham that week, as usual I searched Travelocity and chose this hotel based on reviews and budget. Jun 23rd, we arrived at the hotel at around 7pm, after 5 hours drive from Buffalo city. To our surprise the hotel entrance was locked and nobody showed up when we knocked the door. I then found a note on the door saying that checkin guest needs to call a local number, that was the same number shown on my reservation. I called, busy tone, I called again after 5 minutes, still busy tone. I tried 21 times during the next hour and couldn't get anybody answering my call. Then I started to doubt the number might be wrong, so I sent a short message to that number - auto reply said that was an invalid number! It was dinner time and supposedly there should be guests coming in and out for dinner, but we saw none. My son was tired and we were both hungry. The last thing I could do was to send an email to the hotel to express our frustration. So we left and found another hotel at a much higher price. My friend witnessed my bad luck, and I kept all the evidences including phone call records, email, and photos.
The next day I called Travelocity customer service, and started to realize that my nightmare had just begun. Call center people transferred my call here and there, normally 30-50 minutes waiting time till next guy spoke to me.
