The inn was an interesting place, out of the way, with nice staff with lots of helpful information.
There was, however, some issues with cleanliness. Dining table surfaces had plenty of crumbs and smears.
Most concerning was the lack of hand soap in any toilet. I found some dish soap for kitchen use and put a cup of it in bathroom. It was removed. Not even the toilets near the dining room had soap. As I did not see staff or guests carrying soap with them, I can only surmise that people just did not properly wash their hands after using the toilet. This is definitely unhygienic, and probably against public health rules.
Potential visitors should be advised that they will need a car or a taxi to stay at this inn. It is not in Amesbury or Salisbury, and, though it has the words “stone henge” in the title, it’s not very near that, either.
But, if you want to be out of the city, enjoy the garden, birds and animals, you’ll get clean sheets and a comfortable space here. Just bring your own soap when using the toilet.
