What a great place. Garden area out back with seating for drinks and dinner. Really good food and bar, be sure to book a table as they fill up quick. Very nice room. Will stay again when in the area.

Great food, great service, great room!
Great inn, lovely food, attention to detail in the bedroom - flannel and excellent toiletries provided. Better than many hotels. Parking was on the street - but I parked in front of the front door - closer than for many hotel car parks. Would visit again.

This place is amazing! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were excellent, clean and very comfortable. The food was incredible, breakfast was basically whatever you wanted. Dinner was also excellent, especially the puddings. Would definitely stay again.

Business trip in the Scottish Borders.
Lovely clean room. Food and drink are top notch and this is a smashing place to stay when in the area. My room was big enough for a comfortable stay but I could have benefitted from a work area for the evening paperwork. I really appreciated the information pack. I walked the Whiteadder walk (from the information pack), which helped me unwind after work. The countryside, wildlife and sheer beauty of the area makes this a region to recommend. The personal touches in the info pack were great and reflect the justified pride in the area and the Inn itself. The public areas are also beautifully decorated and very well maintained. I'd have no hesitation in returning and am very grateful to Katrina, William and team for their great hospitality.

A gem just over the border
Clean, comfortable with a good location to explore the borders or further afield. The restaurant is popular and for good reason. Good value and quality dinning.

Our stay at The Allanton Inn
Our stay was excellent, the reason I marked "comfort" as only OK was that we both found the bed quite hard to the point of being uncomfortable, if we were stopping more than one night I probably would have asked for another room, apart from that the evening meal, breakfast friendliness of staff and parking were all spot on. Thanks.

Great location. Beautiful surroundings. Clean and tidy. Tea, coffee and bottled water in the well decorated rooms. Great breakfast. Very nice toiletries. Lovely hosts.

Gem of a hotel in the borders
Hunting for a lovely place to stay mid camping holiday, we found this by Expedia recommendation. A gem of a friendly pub, with passionate staff and home furnishings. A selection of lovely real ales, and a menu a Michelin restaurant would be proud of! If you like local produce, and a cheese board to die for this is the place for you!

Lovely Pub B & B - highly recommend
We stayed one night here on our travels and wish we had stayed an extra one!! Lovely pub in super quiet location with an excellent dinner menu and super breakfast, the local honey was memorable!! Our room was lovely with a comfy bed, hot shower and no noise from the pub or outside traffic. Fantastic selection of flavoured gins! Friendly staff and excellent value for money - we would love to stay again if we find ourselves in the area. We missed out on a visit to a nearby castle and stately home (and honey farm) as we ran out of time. Highly recommend anyone stays here. Many thanks

Fantastic place off the beaten track
We had a very enjoyable stay here on our recent trip through the UK. Room was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and seemed to really enjoy running this place. The restaurant was great value for money - quick service and very nice food. Overall, this place was easily the best value for money, and also the most enjoyable place to stay, during our time in Scotland.

A Great Place for Food With Rooms
We chose The Allanton Inn primarily because of the good restaurant reviews. We had a great evening meal and an equally good breakfast, and the owners and staff were very pleasant. The room itself was quite small and the bathroom cramped, but I guess this was constrained by the age of the building. The room was clean, but the decor was starting to show signs of wear. However, as an overnight stopover it served us very well.

Excellent place, food and service
Excellent place to stay for all aspects. The windows had to be kept open all night because it was warm. This meant there was a lot of noise from passing tractor and farm vechiles. Breakfast was outstanding.

Good village hotel
Well received when checked in. Comfortable bed and good size rooms. Unfortunately I was going out for dinner so did not eat at hotel but I have had a meal here before and it was very good. Excellent cooked breakfast. Will definitely stay again

Relaxing stay
Just stayed the one night in the 2 bedrooms family suite and had dinner and breakfast there. Very comfortable rooms, nice and warm despite being below freezing outside. The food was delicious and the owners and waitress really friendly. Had a great stay.

Een Inn zoals een Inn moet zijn (en meer)
Een geweldige ervaring hebben wij gehad bij William en Katie in de Allington Inn, die het begrip 'Inn' volledig waarmaakt: super gastvrij, een gezellige sfeer, hangend tussen pub en restaurant en een prima kamer om te overnachten. Het eten overtrof onze verwachtingen aanzienlijk: dat was culinair en verwacht je niet in een pub, eerder in een frans restaurant, en de prijzen zijn ook nog eens veel schappelijker dan wat we gewend zijn, zowel voor het eten als de drank... Chapeu, deze Inn is een omweggetje waard vanaf de A1!

Friendly inn with great food.
Small village inn with cosy rooms. Lovely food. Nice garden at rear. In a beautiful area of Berwickshire. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Recommend highly.

I stayed here on 31.7.17 - fabulous stay
really great service, room and food I would recommend this hotel to anyone. As a female travelling alone and I felt safe, comfortable and very welcome. The food was beautiful and little touches like the fresh honey comb were great, I've never seen this before and was a lovely touch. I will recommend this hotel and will definitely stay in the future. Thank you :)
