There was a terrible smell in the room. I couldn’t pin point it. Maybe musty and bleach? Idk but it was awful and I won’t book again because of it.

Small dated roadside motel that smelled like old cigarettes. It had two beds so you'd think it'd be for four people like every other hotel. We were in the room for about a half hour when the owner called us saying we needed to pay an extra $20 since we had 3 people or one of us needed to leave.

Even though inexpensive, the room was more than i expected. My stay was for a month. The room was clean and the use of the minifridge and microwave helped keep my expenses down. Though the traffic was audible, which is normal for a roadside motel, it was mostly minimal. Overall I found my stay very enjoyable and would definitely stay here again.

Clean and functional; nothing to write home about
This hotel was a last minute booking. It was clean and easy to reach from the highway and reasonable. The bed was reasonably comfortable but furnishings were flea market. Bathroom was NEW and the best part of the room.

Room kept blowing fuse. Could not have TV and microwave; coffeemaker on at the same time. Called office the next morning to move us. Indicated that they would fix problem. Did not fix... would not stay their again.

Family Fishing Trip
Went up for a fishing trip on saginaw bay, and the hotel was perfect location. Friendly staff, decent beds and looked like the bathrooms had just been remodeled.

Old Motel
Cheapish, old hunting motel right off M-13. Luckily you don't have to feel bad about tracking in mud or fish guts.

Served our needs
Certainly not the Taj Mahal, but worked for a place to rest our head for the weekend. Coffee machine, but no coffee carafe/pot, one finally showed up the next day. Ice machine locked up at night, only 1/2 roll of toilet paper, while it was close to the destination we needed to be. If you just need a place to rest your head/sleep at night this place will work for the cheap price. Truth in "you get what you pay for."

Staff/Owners are very accommodating & hospitable. They know the area & really helped us w/ info on many various questions/locations/directions, best part was their answers resulted in Great Fun! Thanks Northland Motel ;)

Walleye fising trip
Our stay was great for our fishing trip to the Bay. The location was great with restaurant and boat launch close by. The hotel had plenty of parking for trucks with trailers and power to hook up chargers. Great!

Ok for fishing
You get what you pay for. It was good enough for fishing. The bed was awful and the pillows were like blocks, but we did not expect much. They had power on the trees to plug your boat which was really nice. It was only about 15 min to the boat launch which was fine.

I was expecting an American owner!! not arab the room was clean, big room 1more bed then we expected. the furnace was real noisey. but in the summer time it would be great. good price too! we will stay again ..

They had a small under the desk type electric heater to warm the room. Musty smell. We did not stay and were offered no refund

Ok place to stay
The price is good, the rooms are clean. My complaint is the staff would come into the room while we were gone, clean up, turn off the A/C and leave us no toilet paper. We had to ask for toilet paper every single day we were there, why couldnt they leave some when they insisted in coming in our room, without permission i might ask. Also it was in the 80s the whole 3 days we were there so we left the A/C on so we could come back to a cool room, thats beyond rude to turn it off on us. The last night we were there we went to use the microwave and it knocked out the power to the room, ridiculous. Its a cheap place to stay, you certainly pay for what you get....and thats not much.

Retro in style and fixtures but a clean place.
The fixtures and room set-up was retro 60s maybe, but this was a nicely run and clean place for the price. We stayed 3 nights and only slight problem was adjusting the water temperature in the shower! The set-back from the main highway was nice and fairly quiet. I think this was a good value for the price.

L'odeur de la chambre est insupportable. J'ai nettoyé moi même la salle de bain. En soulevant le tapis de bain il y avait des cernes de saletés... Nous avons dormi dans nos sacs de couchages tellement tout semblait sale. La famille propriétaire est sympathique et c'est tout ce qui rend l'endroit acceptable.

Cozy, but loud
Owners are so nice, room super clean. Unfortunately, u can hear everything going on next to u, above, or below you. Despite the noise, I would definitely stay there again

OK for the price.
The room was cool. The space heater in the wall was not very warm so it took a while to get comfortable.. When the TV turned on it buzzed for 10 minutes before the buzz quit. The hot water was used up at bedtime but the shower in the morning was hot. The room was clean. Slept good.

Reasonable room rate. Old furniture and carpeting. No coffee or tea in room, so bring your own. Small refrig. and microwave available. Check-in person was nice.

the owners are extremely friendly and we felt welcomed. I wouldn't choose this spot for a vacation, but when you need a break from the road, it's affordable and good enough. Oh, we didn't have any toilet paper though!

Simple room at a good value.
We wanted a cheap base of operations for the Bay City fireworks. It fit the bill. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to find a small refrigerator in the room. It was HOT the weekend we were there, and the A/C struggled to keep up. Not near downtown, but it is close to the State Park. I wouldn't take my kids for a vacation, but it's a great value for something like a fishing trip or passing through.

good for a couple nights sleep
Booked this room for stay during US Regional Soccer Tournament at last minute. Room was very clean, manager super nice, and motel a little run-down but worked for us just sleeping and relaxing at end of day. Though my daughter thought it was sketchy, due to her prior experience at Marriot hotels only, wife and I thought it was fine. Furniture a bit dated and bed uncomfortable, but you can tell they upgraded and cleaned the room fairly recently. Not much dining (or really anything else) nearby, but close enough to Bay City where we found plenty of restaurants. The manager / owner was very accomodating to our requests. They need to get better towels to replace the half size paper thin version they provide, and wish the room had a coffee maker, but it did contain a microwave and small refrigerator. Very impressed with the cleanliness for the type and age of motel!

just needed place to our selves
This is basically just and I mean just a place to stay because you are so tired you cant drive. stayed there twice rooms kinda funky smelling had to fabreeze. And bathrooms very old and color something out of a B horror flick really is blood red a good color for a bathroom? Oh and make sure you bring your own shampoos and stuff I think stuff is left over from the 70"s

I paid 10 dollars less up the road in Mackinaw City for a 3 times better room. Needs serious attention or severe price reduction. Mattress uncomfortable and crinkled with each movement, heater not working well and took long time to get hot water, and had an exterior door light as a bathroom mirror light. Carpeting and shower very unappealing.

The good, the bad.
An older motel, had air conditionIng,and a micro wave oven, a mini frig., old style tv w/ remote that did not work. Motel was easy to locate. Faults: orbits prices are higher than what the motel charges, call directly and you can save yourself approx. 20 dollars. Bathroom window had a plastic bag wrapped around some foam rubber to plug the vent. And deleted a spider on the floor before going to bed.

Our room was supposed to be non smoking and when you opened the door to enter it reeked of stale cigarette smoke.

our room was next to the office
we heard phones ringing at different hours of the night and early AM. unable to get hot water. we felt welcomed. they even provided us with a portable electric heater since our thermostat did not function.
