A little gem in Dartmouth
A really good place to stay in Dartmouth with a friendly owner and staff. A lovely bedroom with nice sheets, towels and the added benefit of a mini bar with fresh milk! Delicious breakfasts too. Highly recommend.

The room is in an old building in Dartmouth so expectations are that it will be on the smaller side. It was clean with excellent bathroom. Position of the property was fantastic for getting out and about. Staff that we met were friendly and accommodating. Loved every minute of our stay.

Nice stay, friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was really good. Location is central but there is road noise, earplugs were supplied. Parking was a bit of an issue.

Lovely stay for a family wedding. Bedroom very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Excellent breakfast choices and quality. Would definitely recommend.

The access through the bar was not ideal when I arrived, however, the room was light and spacious. The shower was great, with good pressure. The staff were friendly and more than accommodating.

Quaint part of the town and great value
I of course had to pay for a double room - I'd left it late to book and still have an issue to resolve with Hotels.com who told me on the phone there was no reduction though the host thought there was, for single occupancy. If I were a couple, I'd say the value was outstanding, and it was pretty good anyway. Particularly good was the breakfast, and Kevin/Mel were wonderful about giving me exactly what I wanted in terms of more of one thing and less of another. Also very quiet, despite the small (bijou really) pub business they also run. Rather nice location and would have been ideal for me if the weather wasn't really bad the one day I wanted - I had come to Dartmouth for a cousin's granddaughter's wedding at Britannia Royal Naval College. The heat was on in the evening which I hadn't expected.

Excellent low cost accommodation.
Very handy location close to both the riverside and the town centre. The hotel provides a free parking permit for the adjacent public car park and this can also be used for some public car parks in nearby towns including Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Excellent cooked to order Breakfasts using good quality ingredients.

Quaint Historic Venue. By the River & Promenade.
Very clean, quirky venue. The hosts were excellent, and the location very good. We had a very good experience here. The staff and locals were very friendly, the town has much to offer, with bespoke shopping and old world charm. Something for everyone. We arrived during the England world cup game, after booking last thing. Despite all the fun of the game at the time, everybody was very friendly and professional, and we are not sports fans. Excellent hosts. We met tourists from all over the world, making an acquaintance from Sweden, Japan and Others.

Convenient for the town.
Booked this room to stay for the music festival. Being only about 3 minutes away from the main stage was great, and also had some good views across the park towards the ferry. It was also great to be able to park the car on the Friday and not have to drive again until leaving on the Monday.

It's Ok to stay one night. The entrance is through the bar downstairs so it's hard even to recognize where is a hotel. It's more like a few rooms in a building where you can stay. You can call it romantic for some points if you are a student or dating someone. There is no water mixing in the bathroom: 2 cranes one for cold and one for hot water. You have to wait some time to get the hot water. If you want to wash your face with a warm water it's impossible. Shower is mixed and works fine. Breakfast is Ok but the dining area (small room with 4-5 tables) is not quite clean. It's smaller than you see it on the picture.

We arrived around lunchtime on Sunday and met by Mel who said we could check in early and gave us a parking pass for the nearby town car park. The room on the top floor was bright and clean with lovely view across the park to the river. Lots of character with curved wall on the window side meant a bit if a squeeze around the bed frame but being snall, that was no real problem for me. It was a cold wind that day and the room was a little chilly but we closed the curtains and turned up the radiator. Perhaps a blanket or extra duvet in the cupboard may be necessary for sime visitors in colder months. The storage was great with loads of hangers and the large bathroom was well equipped, really warm and loads of hot water. Kettle, good range of teas and coffee and hairdryer were all provided. There was an extensive breakfast menu, lots of choices, and Kevin was happy to make adjustments for different requests. Also good coffee and orange juice. We went out to get lunch and found the nearby George & Dragon which did a substantial Sunday carvery with 5 different vegetables and beautifully cooked beef or pork. On returning home I found I had left my phone charger. Got in touch and Kevin offered to post it back to me. We had a good 2 night stay and would definitely stay again. Thanks Kevin and Mel.

An unusual anniversary
It was our first visit to Dartmouth as a couple. The pub is very old, but our guest room was large and pleasantly decorated. The ensuite with walk in shower was very clean and shiny. The kingsize bed was so comfy that ensured a good night's sleep. Although mid March, we experienced snow and extremely low temperatures. But our room was warm and cosy. Unable to leave because of bad road conditions, our landlord, Kevin, invited us to stay on an extra night free of charge. We were most grateful! And Mel walked through the snow to make our breakfast, when it was unsafe for cars to run. We look forward to returning next year for our 47th wedding anniversary and enjoying this hospitality again.

Fabulous location.
Lovely big bed, comfy and very clean. Breakfast, great choice, but could benefit from gluten free bread for toast in the freezer for those of us fussy people. TV signal not great, but wasn't watching for long!

Fantastic place to stay when visiting BRNC Dartmouth. Welcoming staff, comfortable bed, lovely waterfall shower over double-ended bath. Great breakfast. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 for room comfort is because the curtains didn't block out the light.

Stayed for one night for a reunion dinner at the Naval College. The landlord, Kevin, couldn’t have been more helpful and the atmosphere in the pub was really welcoming. Great room and fantastic breakfast. Superb value.

Little Dartmouth Gem.
Kevin and Michelle were very welcoming at this small cosy pub. Room was comfortable with a great bed and everything you would expect and want for a couple of nights stay. Michelle's cooking also deserves a mention with both breakfast and evening meal menus offering a wide choice of home cooked, good value meals.. Good location in Dartmouth with park and river views. Parking permit was provided on check in for use in local car park (closest less than 5 mins.away) and was also valid for other car parks in Devon.Would definetely recommend if you are looking for a small friendly family run place to stay.

Lovely hotel, small but comfortable
Lovely people, very welcoming and friendly. Room and bed comfortable, it's just a shame they closed so early Sunday night. Lovely view and great breakfast. Took a couple of Michelle's home made pies home which were very good. Just on the edge of the town but a short and pretty walk into town. Michelle was knowledgeable about the restaurants in town. Went on the river trip which was nice.

Quirky Pub, Warm Welcome, Good Food.
Stayed 3 nights B&B. Rooms are comfortable, clean and the owners are friendly and hospitable. There is a small bar with a good range of beers, wine, spirits...particularly gins! The breakfasts were well cooked and tasty. They serve food some evenings, only tried the pizza one night, which was lovely, tasty and filling. We were initially concerned about noise from the road and the bar, but we needn't have. Noise from the bar and customers is minimal and dies down steadily until the bar shuts at 10:30. Affix from the busy road is a little noisy during the day, but again it dies down steadily during the evening and is pretty quiet overnight. It didn't keep us awake or spoil our sleep at all. The owners provide a parking pass for an open car park less than two minutes walk away and the pub I should well situated at the edge of town, and only a few minutes away from the riverside and all amenities. A lovely quirky pub and b&b and we would recommend. Maybe difficult for people with limited mobility as the staircase to the rooms is quite steep and narrow.

Friendly and well located
We had a lovely stay here. The quaint old inn was superbly located on the harbour front near the naval college and had free parking out of season. The room was comfortable and clean. I was worried about there being dog hair in the room as i'm allergic but this wasnt the case although you will need an antihystamine for the bar area if you suffer. That said the small bar area was great and full of good beer, tapas and friendly locals who make you feel welcome right away. The owner Kevin was friendly and helpful and we got on straight away. Breakfast was nice too. All in all an affordable and nice stay.
