Rudest hotel manager ever
The Manager of this hotel should not be in the hospitality business, he is very rude. First, he gave me a room with a filthy floor, dust everywhere, pieces of gum, long black hairs, etc., and my feet were sticking to it. I asked for another room next morning and he got very annoyed with me claiming that it was just 'paint' on the floor (a cleaning lady saw the floor and confirmed to me that the floor of the room had not be cleaned in a long time). In any case, after my original complaint, he gave me a room that the A/C did not work at all (the cleaning lady used 3 different remotes to get it to work). By now, he was furious with me, he gave me a room that stunk like mold and with no internet (or very slow) connection. He refused to give me another room and for the next week I was there he treated me horribly, no 'hello', nothing, no smile, only grunting and weird looks! I stopped dropping my key off in the morning so that I could avoid him.. I have been to over 170 countries and never met such a rude hotel manager in the 1,000 or so hotels I have visited over the last 35 years... No wonder why the hotel was alawys empty when I was there..

Would not recommend this b&b , not worth the money
Bed is too small in the room. All things in the room either did not work or was broken from tv remote , a/c , The male staff are worse and unhelpful.there is no lighting in corridor on the second floor and they will not provide or offer you water when you arrive.like they dont care at all.

Needs renovation urgently
Staff ist friendly, but the whole place is old and it shows everywhere. The tiles loose their gloss everywhere, the shower water spills Info the main room if you are not very careful, and kitchen and other smells permeate the room. Walls are paper-thin. Even at the offered price and it being the capital it is not good value for money.

Ok for the price
The hotel is ok. Air, safe and small restaurant. The staff is great from the maintenance person to the cleaning lady and restaurant staff. The gentlemen that run the front desk are very friendly and professional. The hotel needs deep cleaning in the bathrooms and some places shows it’s tired and worn. But it’s well situated and of value.

d value needs a face lift. In some places
The hotel room is fine but the bathrooms need help..... lots of black mold that is not necessary to have. The restaurant is limited but fine! The staff is great...... specially Reas and the other gentleman that is middle age.

Great for City and Race Course
The hotel is in a fantastic location for visiting Port Louis or the Champ de Mars race course which the hotel literally overlooks. Although the comfort rooms look a bit tired the hotel staff were excellent and the hotel is comfortable and clean.

Pros - great wifi in room, comfortable bed, clean linen and clean bathroom. Nice mountain and racecourse view from window. Just 10-15 mins walk to city centre and waterfront. Cons - Average breakfast, other meals on order only, no restaurant or bar running thru the day

Good value and convenient
We chose this hotel for a convenient place to stay before boarding a cruise ship the next day. It was convenient and the staff there are very courteous and helpful. The building is dated but has been kept up well and we were comfortable there. We would recommend that they update their bedding though. The area is interesting as it sits right next to the horse race track and there are interesting things to see within walking distance. The restaurant has limited optiions but the food was good and there are eateries fairly close by. Be advised.....we were there on a Friday and almost all of the businesses closed by 5pm. (Not sure if that is true everyday.) It is a good value and we would stay there again.

Es gibt nichts, das ich an dem Hotel kritisieren könnte: Der Raum war schön, groß und sauber, es gab Steckdosen, es gab heißes Wasser, der Service war wundervoll und ein Transfer kann organisiert werden. Vielleicht als kleine Zusatzinfo: Auf der Webseite steht, es gäbe einen Wasserkocher am Zimmer, was aber (zumindest in meinem Zimmer) nicht der Fall war. Also nicht den gleichen Fehler machen wie ich und darauf vertrauen, dass man sich Wasser abkochen kann - lieber am Weg vom Flughafen sauberes (Flaschen-)Wasser kaufen.

My room was small; dark and had no view other than the thankfully empty office just a few meters away (note: there were bars on the windows as well, which felt a bit like I was being incarcerated).

My visit to Pot Louis
Sorry to say that after 7pm, you cannot do anything due to the town is closed, bad security situation according to locals comments. No restaurants can be found for dinner. Liqueur is rare in the area.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We have a restaurant and a bar in our premises which are open after 7pm. The security in Port-Louis in the evening is not that hectic but it depends in which area of the town you will go to. It is same as any big city... it is safer to use a taxi at night when you are not familiar. There are many restaurants in town even for dinner, such as at Caudan Waterfront or Desforges street.
