We both had a fabulous time. Loved the pool area. The gardens are beautiful- will have to return in the Summer next time. We only ate breakfast there but there was plenty of choice.

My experience was ruined by my travelling companion and when the cleaners entered my room they stole items such as a bottle of wine that I had paid a lot of money for. My slippers also went missing then the next day even though I asked them not to enter my room. They did. And then my slippers miraculously reappeared. I did not feel safe whilst I was there. Or comfortable.

Nice hotel with fine spa. Very nice garden and superfriendly hostesses. One thing that we missed is an airconditioner. There is a fan but it is very warm in the room

Lovely staff
Amazing stay, staff we really helpful! I proposed to my then girlfriend, and the staff were super helpful in making it so special. The spa facilities are also lovely.

The staff were so friendly and helpful made my Mum feel like a Queen.. amazing massage 💆‍♀️ with Abbey and Rachel very kind so understanding with my 94 year old Mum..Would most definitely visit again the Hotel could do with more disabled paths around the building

Overall disappointing
The hotel is massively let down by the size and facilities in the spa. One small hydrotherapy pool and a medium size (very cold) main pool with a couple of thermal rooms and ridiculously uncomfortable loungers is not what a ‘destination spa’ is. The lack of air conditioning in the bedroom meant I barely slept as it was so warm. A tiny fan was provided which was completely ineffective. The tea and coffee tray offerings were awful. Sticks of Nescafé original? With the room rates being as they are I would expect a better quality offering. The garden room was very tired looking and cheaply furnished. I have had better and more comfortable rooms at Holiday Inns. Housekeeping were banging on the door at 11am when I had paid for a late check out. The hot food at breakfast was of very good quality and well cooked. There were hardly any of the listed cold foods at the buffet such as the Bircher muesli. The waitress I asked did not even know what Bircher muesli was when I asked where it was. She offered me a sachet of dry muesli. There was a bowl of prunes, oddly large lumps of feta cheese and some cheap sliced ham. The coffee machine at breakfast produced an undrinkable americano. My massage was absolutely amazing. The therapist was incredibly skilled and it was worth every penny. Towels and robes were fluffy and plentiful. A very mixed place with some aspects good and some really very poor.

We had a lovely stay, only criticism is we didn't like the evening meal menu and had to order room service, would have been good if we could have ordered the burger and chips in the bar area and have a drink at the same time. The staff were brilliant and really friendly. Overall a lovely stay.

Lifehouse Being a £190 a night hotel I expected more. It was so hot in the room. Even travelodge has aircon. Having only a small noisy fan just didn’t cut it. I didn’t sleep a wink and spent the whole night tossing and turning. The bed sheets had stains on them. The tv had no guide So you had to go through each channel and guess what was on. A fridge in the room would be nice. Again, most budget hotels have them. The aircon and the fridge issues I wish I’d have asked about previous to booking. I did just presume that a luxury spa hotel would have the basics? The bathroom wasn’t up to scratch. Firstly, If you were having a bath, the shampoo/cond/shower gel is really high up so you either have to get up or stretch to reach it. The tap panel had come loose. There was a bit of brown stuff stuck to the floor (I hope it wasn’t what i thought it was). £15 for room service! After paying almost £200 to stay in a room as hot as the sauna?? Surely not. I had planned a lovely dinner to enjoy in my room whilst watching a movie but I went without and went hungry till breakfast. I didn’t fancy the restaurant as I was staying alone. The spa facilities were ok. I really do think they could up their game a bit though. It looks like a school swimming pool area. Nothing luxury about it. Lots of tiles missing on the pool. Most loungers were reserved with towels, it was so noisy in there from groups. Relaxation room was full of people chatting away

Great weekend away
Hotel was really nice and we had a great time. - None of the hotel is air-conditioned. We stayed on a really hot weekend and everywhere including our room was absolutely baking! - Spa was great although not really big enough for the size of the hotel, given that everyone is there to use it. - The quality of the food in the restaurant was great but the service was really slow for most of the time we were there. Most of the staff were pretty young and so we put it down to inexperience. Overall we had a great time, although it lacks many of the finishing touches both in terms of the quality of the hotel and the service that would make it quite worth what it costs to stay there.

Staff lack training
The stay was very pleasant, the grounds were a massive highlight but there were a couple of things that were not up to standard. Firstly, every single member of staff was smiley and nice but there knowledge of the hotel was not up to standard… every single member of staff from the waiters, reception, spa therapist had poor knowledge of the hotel and it’s facilities. For example the receptionist tried to upsell an room upgrade to us but didn’t have a clue on the rooms specifications… the spa therapist hadn’t a clue on the spa operating times(although very easy to find out but nonetheless they still hadn’t a clue) and the restaurant staff were honestly very clueless. The food was just appalling- everything was served with chips or sweet potato fries- with those prices you expect something more refined and upmarket not pub food that has everything with chips. Also considering it’s a spa the food should be a little healthier. The rooms were absolutely roasting- they did provide us with a fan but it would have been better if we could open our door on a latch but the door wasn’t capable of doing so, so we were very hot and had to leave the door open in an attempt that no wildlife would enter our room. Finally- we had already prepaid for this trip and upon our check out the receptionist gave us a bill not knowing we had already paid for the trip- but this just brings me back to the first point that staff have very limited training and are very clueless.

If you are keen on experiencing one of the below, by all means do book to stay here: - stone cold room upon arrival - attempts to sneak into the bill receipts and amounts that you haven't authorised - - old stale bread at dinner (from the menu) - overcrowded below average and filthy spa facilities - fabricated late check-out charge to get more money out of you (please note that even if you want to check out on time you won't be able to do so as the queue is absurdly long) - 2 hour wait to get your main and have dinner at 11pm - excellent surroundings & gorgeous gardens - tasty food - unnecessary Draconian rules We certainly won't be coming back as our idea of a relaxing spa break is very different from the above. The gardens are wonderful but the hotel itself is overpriced and unsatisfactory.

There are policies and procedures in place that have been follow correctly throughout your stay, for the comfort of our guests and team members. Dismal hotel.
Damp smelling Reception- too many staff being trained made the overall experience average. Awful food - my Risotto arrived cold. Tea at the dismal breakfast was luke warm. Ghastly seeing so many people in the restaurant in towelling robes. Very off putting. Would definitely NOT recommend this basic hotel to anyone.

Dear Anonymous, thank you for your feedback. We are not a standard hotel we are a spa, and as such it is normal for robes to be welcome for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. I am sorry to read you were disappointed with the food and beverage. I hope your comments were shared with the management on site, but will pass your feedback on to the team. Thank you

Great stay everything was fine apart from the overpriced snacks from the bar! Dinner was lovely and the spa amazing

Really lovely hotel. I have stayed before so knew it was lovely. Came with my Mum and 16 year old twins. The hotel needs to make it clear that 16 year olds are allowed if accompanied by an adult because the looks from other guests made it feel very unwelcoming for us. Guests need to mind their own business and get on with their own stay. We wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t allowed.
