Lovely place which overlooks Russell, but is only a short walk from town. Beautiful private deck which fully opens to the room allows for a.m./p.m. views and air. Baths appear to have been recently renovated. Room is spacious and welcoming. Friendly, attentive owners. I guess you could complain about the steepness of the short entry drive or the fact that you might overhear your neighbors on the next deck … but no, don’t. HIGHLY recommend.

A lovely place to stay in Russell, all the benefits of the village a few minutes walk away but with the benefit of being set back and up high so fantastic views over the village and water from the balcony. Well equipped kitchenette area, great shower and really comfortable beds. Would recommend.

Amazing place, everything thought of to make the stay incredibly comfortable. The sea/harbour view second to none and was a beautiful afternoon sun trap on the private deck. In walking distance to central Russell and ferry service to Paihia.

Love Bellrock Lodge well thought out, spotless and views to find for. Lovely people- and a short walk (down hill) to Russell which is a sweet little place. I could happily upsticks.

Thank you for the review. The minor mould issue is being rectified currently as we are tiling all the bathrooms so next visit you will have lovely white tiles on the wall and a Riverstone base! Apologies for any noise that transmitted down to you, I feel it may have been us playing with the dog! We will be more careful. Our host was very welcoming and the room was spotless, a good size for two people and the view was fantastic. With only a short walk to town it was the perfect place for a couple of days R & R. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Russell.

A lovely view from a beautiful room. Clean and beautifully decorated. A quiet one night romantic stay for us but we really enjoyed the clean bathroom and comfortable bed and thoughtful amenities including the surprise chocolate fish :) thank you to the owners of the Bellrock. We'd love to stay again when we are next in Russell.

A real gem, beautiful views of Russell and the sea from the balcony and room. Lovely treats, spacious, comfortable. Short walk to restaurants. Highly recommend.

Very convenient to the Russell foreshore, and with great views. Accommodation is well thought out, and well presented. Our host was very helpful too. Highly recommended.

The pictures of this place a true to life - it is absolutely beautiful. The owners are incredibly hospitable and kind and the views are spectacular. Our favourite was the shared living room where we chose to eat some of our meals together with fellow guests.

The hosts are fantastic and the place was exceptionally clean. A very short walk to town and we actually preferred this location to being right in the centre as it much more quiet and chilled out, and a lot cheaper! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We fully enjoyed our stay here!! A fantastic seaview, a spacious apartment and friendly and helpful hosts. Everything was nice and clean and the Appartement was very well equipped. Perfect location in Russel, which is just a stroll away from the Wharf.

The Perfect Way to End!
What an amazing place! We had been travelling as a couple for 3 months and this was our last stop before flying home. And wow! Definitely in the top couple of places we stayed across whole trip, if not the best. Peter and Lorraine were lovely and very helpful. Room was clean, spacious and had an amazing view. Couldn’t recommend more.

Perfect stay
Perfect location. Welcoming hosts who couldn’t do more for you. They even booked us a restaurant for Christmas dinner. The room was very comfortable and had great views. We would highly recommend it.

We would love to give this place extra stars because the hosts went above and beyond any expectations. Lorraine and Peter and their family are real treasures and great ambassadors for the area. Plus the room was beautiful and cozy and super clean with lovely furnishings and wood floors. The bathroom and shower were fantastic. The kitchen was a great way tohave breakfast every day, and everything in town is a close walk. The only challenge is that the walk up to driveway is a little steep.

Lovely Hotel in Perfect Location
Wonderful view, lovely private room, spacious and light. Great facilities. Loved the Organic bathroom products and use of eco friendly reusable packaging etc. Host Lorraine was lovely. Would totally recomend this place to anyone travelling to Russell.

Wonderful accommodation near the beach
We booked last minute because the previous place was moldy. Peter, our host went out of his way to accommodate my allergies. The parking is on a steep hill like every where in NZ, so he told us that if we wanted to walk down to the stores and restaurants, just call him and he will come and pick us up when we are finished. The room has everything anyone could want, full kitchen, beach towels, even a flashlight if it’s dark when you are out walking. The view from the balcony overlooks Russel bay, you could stay there forever. A laundry room is also available for travelers who are on a long vacation and need to launder their clothes. When you leave, you feel that you have had the best experience ever.

An excellent hotel - happy to recommend it
We were greeted with a warm welcome, a glass of wine and given a few tips about where to go. The rooms are large and have a brilliant view - even the balcony is large enough to have breakfast on. The rooms also have a full kitchenette, with coffee, tea, biscuits and milk provided. There is safe parking and it's only a 5 minute stroll down the hill into the village. We would stay here again in a flash.
