Newly renovated rooms by new management. Tiled bathrooms were beautiful. Beds were clean and comfortable. Mini fridge with freezer and good sized microwave in room. Quiet, and in a great area with easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and tourist sites in the area

Very clean & comfortable: new foam queen bed, new slider screen windows, AC worked well. Nice couple running the place who interacted as required with guests. Up-to-date curtains and bedding. Lots of parking. Modest and affordable.

Modest, affordable

It is a modest roadside motel. The manager was very friendly. We stayed one night as a family. TV, fridge, microwave were all functional. Carpets recently replaced. It was a nice affordable stay.

We walked in the room, the overpowering smell of must and mildew was overpowering. We looked around, and left. I was fine loosing the $100.00 plus dollars I paid. Pay a little more and go somewhere else.

You get what you pay for. The motel is perfect as a place to crash after skiing, but don’t expect a five star resort. We left happy after our stay here, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s skiing on a budget. The only thing I’d note is that there was no lock on the bathroom door in our room, which was unexpected but not a big deal. P.S. As of when I booked, google claims there’s a hot tub here for some reason. Expedia doesn’t, but if you came here from google’s page just be aware that google’s got it wrong.

Overall, it was a place to sleep near Thornbury & Clarksburg. Nothing more. Bed was firm foam - good. Shower: water was hot & plentiful. Parking was plentiful - but snow was not plowed or shoveled, very slippery underfoot, & sidewalks not swept (so you tracked snow into your room). Fridge needed defrosting & no ice cube trays. Nothing but 2 flimsy plastic cups - nothing I could use to heat water in the microwave. No ice bucket. No local info about taxis etc. - except in the office which doesn't open until about 11:00. Manager displayed attitude about asking for receipt on checkout.

Location is good as property is just 12 km away from blue mountains resort but rooms are ok , didn't enjoy staying there. Staff was supportive.

The rooms were clean and the location was walking distance to attractions in Thornberry. Renovations are being made to update the rooms which are somewhat dated but totally adequate.

Great Location!

This was our third time staying at Penny's Motel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very basic, but clean. We choose Penny's because it is only a 10 min drive to Blue Mountain and there are a lot of great things to do in Thornbury. You can walk to the Thornbury Cider House (across the street), and other nice restaurants. Our only complaint is that the beds are quite bouncy. We normally sleep on a King, so a double was tight. But overall, we enjoy Penny's.

Location was convenient. We were able to walk to restaurants. Towels were changed every day. It is an old motel but bathroom has been updated and there appears to be a new carpet. We had the larger room with two double beds and a single bed so the room was quite spacious. Fridge and microwave were very clean (looked quite new). Did not run out of hot water. The sheets and bedspread looked new. For those interested do remember that it is an old motel....it satisfied our needs with reasonable cost and convenience.

Clean and afordable.

My wife and I stayed two nights while in the area to hike the Bruce Trail. Our main selection criteria is affordability. Penny's Motel satisfied that criteria while providing a clean / comfortable place to stay. The bathrooms had been recently renovated which was a nice feature.

Room small but clean. No freezer in fridge. Sink plug jammed & water would not run away. Bed comfortable and slept well. Quiet area during night no traffic noise. Stayed 2 nights.

Room and bathroom were clean. Linens were fresh and pillows didn't smell funky. Extra towels sets were cheerfully provided since there were 4 adults staying in the room. Management was extremely helpful providing driving directions and even more so when we required vehicle assistance. Yes, we would definitely stay there again!!!

It is ok overall. Good thing is that the location of hotel. The comforters/ blanket should be replaced, it is about time. If someone is just going to sleep at night and save some money, then please go ahead and book it. Do not expect anything more
