Unfortunately when we arrived we were placed in a room with an A/C that did not work, when asked to switch rooms we were placed in a room that had a dead centipede on the pillow.

Property was showing its age, time for a remodel but was clean. There was a $100.00 deposit required at checkin which was not mentioned on Expedia prior to checkin. Breakfast quality was poor, lukewarm potatoes and dry sausages.

The only thing that I would say was a little bit of a problem was you could hear the people in the next room. The walls are extremely thin. They finally decided to go to bed around midnight.

There was no hot water in my room. The bathroom was dirty. Stuff on the walls not sure what it was and beside the toilet it looked like there were 2 spiders killed in 2 different spots..

The front desk was extremely friendly and efficient but this hotel needs a major overhaul. Our room had stains on the carpet and major water damage on one section of the ceiling. The guest laundry room needs serious attention, as well. The area seemed unsafe as well.

I would not stay here again. When I walked in, I could tell it would be a bad experience. Staff was friendly (not a professional presence) — the elevator was old and noisy (thought I would be stuck) — the heater made a LOUD whirring noise all night. I was scared to sleep — concerned about bugs —- the bathroom had cracks and patched up holes — I didn’t want to use the shower because I was that grossed out. I also didn’t like the older guy hanging around out front seeming to watch my every move. I did see some unusual bugs on the outside of the building — they looked like bed bugs but were not. Worst sleep — I got up earlier to leave.

Very pleased with my La Quinta stay in Harrisburg
I actually "shopped" for a Harrisburg hotel online by price, and was pleasantly surprised that La Quinta was so nice. I'd had luck with LaQuintas in the past, but you never know. I got lucky ... One of my criteria was carpeting. The trend these days is bare floors, but your carpeting broke a tie with other hotels and motels ... Excellent breakfast, too. Didn't know what to expect, but the spread was good and it saved me time and money ...

The hotel had a bad odor upon entering. I was greeted by the front desk clerk as she pulled her shirt on. She was wearing a sports bra so not inappropriate, just unprofessional. Then went to the room to see a damaged door jam that appeared as if someone had tried to pry the door open previously. The bathroom had dirty grout and the tub faucet was dripping even after I attempted to turn it off. I immediately went downstairs to checkout after seeing the room. Manager refused a refund or even a credit of any kind after speaking with Expedia. The area around the hotel is not the best, but that doesn’t mean the hotel doesn’t have to have basic acceptable accommodation standards. This negative experience was definitely a first for me (as Expedia ratings are generally accurate) and the refund/credit refusal was frustrating as I did not even use the room. One positive is there are quite a few fast food options nearby so if you do stay there, you are almost guaranteed to find something you like!
