My wife and I (both in our 70’s) checked in at about 5 pm on a Sunday and showed to the room, we were booked on for one night and initially I thought this is a lovely place and really well presented. We went down to the bar to check the food menu and was told that there was no food being served and the bar was closing at 8 pm. There was no mention of this when we booked 3 weeks earlier. On returning to the room we noticed that the heating had gone off, it probably went off the same time the bar closed and it was now heading for 10pm and the room was getting really cold, I looked for a thermostat or some form of addition heating but nothing. So we went to bed I looked for any addition blankets but there wasn’t, I ended up sleeping with my jumper on and my socks. We had to checkout early (8:30am) and I think that the heating had just come on. My wife had a whinge to Sophie (she is really nice, friendly and helpful person) she did listen and understood how we felt. I think we paid £112.00 for staying there one night, I think I would have paid an extra tenner to cover the heating cost.

Northey Arms was a wonderful stay. Gorgeous rooms and truly lovely staff. Restaurant is also very delicious! Highly recommend.

Pleasant stay in a smallish room that could do with a renovation and a new carpet that is currently stained, though the en-suite is a decent size and in decent condition. The staff are excellent and the food good and substantial.

What a great place, well appointed en-suite, service 2nd to none, has all you'll need including an iron. Quirky place, easy parking, bar, gardens and well priced

Excellent Restaurant / Overpriced Room
Mixed review here. On a positive, the restaurant experience was excellent. Delicious food and quality service. Room was overpriced for the size and did not include breakfast. Walls were grubby, no fridge or even milk in the room. Quality bedding. Would l return? Yes for food. Not to stay overnight unless the room rate was reduced.

We were very impressed with the stay, lovely accommodation and excellent food. The only slight problem was that we could not get the water cold enough which war particularly problematic in the shower.

Good for the price
Good for the price you don't stay in the actual pub building its a building to the rear. I could hear the neighbouring rooms as the walls are thin. Also I hate laminate flooring when you walk on it, it moves with you. Bathroom decent thou. Pub inside is nice but expensive. I had a larger shady and it was £5.50 so didn't have anything else after that.

we have stayed at the northey arms before but in the actual pub and we couldnt fault it. This time our room was at the back of the pub in the railway rooms. I would say a little bit noisey but the most annoying thing was the emergency green light in the room that was so bright you couldnt sleep as it was like having a light on all night so very restless night .

overnight stop
Lovely Hotel and superb room. The room faced the main road and the room shook with large lorries passing but that was much quieter in the night and we slept well in a good quality bed. The evening meal and breakfast were both first class and we had an anjoyable stay.

What a beautiful old gastropub and rooms , the welcome on arrival was just lovely by a lovely lady with a lovely black bob hairstyle she went out of her way to welcome us, the rooms are a few steps through the garden at the back of property and very comfortable with beautiful bathrooms. We ate dinner here also, where the same lady took time out to come and chat briefly and make sure we had all we needed. Great food and an unexpectedly wonderful cosmopolitan cocktail would definitely stay again- couple of firmer pillows needed is the only thing I’d change ! X

Hotel staff were excellent, had the fire alarm go off in the early hours around 5:30-5.45, as no staff on site no- one seem to know what to do but gather outside . Pitch black outside waited for staff to turn up which seemed to take ages had to go to work so just left anyway. Another thing was asked for a vat receipt (printed) but told email only in all the hotels I’ve stayed in never heard of this before. Hotel seems to look after themselves more than the guests. This is no fault of the staff by the way . A few changes could make this hotel a lot better
