This is an older establishment that has a bit of history to it. It is located in County Connemara in a remote area. Very quiet and relaxing. We were greeted by the manager Ray and he was very helpful in getting our bags in and upstairs.
There is evening dining onsite. A 4 course meal which while filling was not excessive. We ate there both nights and the service and food were wonderful. The wi-fi only works reliably in one room of the hotel, but there is a fireplace in that room which makes it cozy. The decor is a step back in time of about 50 years, but if you know that going in, then it is acceptable. Wondrous gardens on the grounds. There is a generous breakfast buffet served as part of the night stay, much to pick from, fresh meats, yogurts and they cook a meal to order for you in addition to the buffet at no extra charge. The coffee was more in tune with Americano than other places we stayed in Ireland, so it was much appreciated that it was not too strong.
