Thin walls! You do though eventually get nose-blind to the old-moldy smell. Beds were ok comfortable. Sliding door to balcony in need of repair.

The recent remodel was nice. Bathroom needs some hooks to hang towels and clothes. The microwaves should be a little bigger. Unable to warm tall baby bottles. The lack of maid service is s little inconvenient, but the staff was very nice and helpful.

The stove top took a long time to warm up and then it would turn off. No working can opener the bed that’s on. The living room is awful to sleep on. The bed in the bedroom is very nice. Overall it was clean and very comfortable to stay.

This is an affordable getaway to the beach. good value. has pool and hot tub. beach and the trail right outside back door. I recommend this. it is not fancy, but neither is the price.

The people who work there are sweet but our room wasn’t ready at check in time even though we’d been waiting almost 2 hrs. While our room was clean, the tub was poorly glazed and you could still see the chips in it. The wall behind the toilet wasn’t painted. You had to go to the front desk every time you wanted to use the pool (there wasn’t always someone there). The pool area felt more like a High School pool than a Resort. There was nothing but uncomfortable benches to sit on. Overall the property just felt rundown and neglected. On a positive note, the bed was quite comfortable.

Liked: 1. In the Condos 2 bathrooms 2. Bedroom was spacious 3. Close to the beach 4. Staff friendly Didn’t like: 1. Breakfast- blah. Bland Good for someone who is allergic to spices and tastes. 2. Pillows- to soft and quickly flat. Bring your own. 3. Futon.

Staff were amazing, welcoming and friendly! Walk to the water super easy and beautiful. Only downside were the thin walls - could hear every step over the people above us.

The staff was friendly and very helpful The place is old, dated, mattresses horrible, but it was clean and they let you have pets in certain rooms…only stayed here because of price and had to bring a dog along

We love the location and the rooms are clean. The outside is very rundown amd needs a facelift. The bed was horribly hard and couldn't sleep on it without making a pad with yhe comforter. My husband slep on the couch the whole time.

Staff was great. Breakfast was top notch. If you want an ocean view you might get one on the 2nd or 3rd floors. No ocean view on bottom floor.

Budget & pet friendly! Admittedly the property is past its prime but I do recommend it for these reasons: good place to bring your dog as yard space can be right outside of your patio door; easy paved walk to the beach or walkway down the beach; less crowded beach; can choose room with kitchenette; excellent breakfast bar with a large array of well prepared foods; some (if not all) rooms have been nicely renovated (very comfy bed too) and have an alarm clock with lots of outlets and USB ports - yay! Also, the staff were friendly and helpful. What some may not like is that the property, in general, is in need of renovation. The hallway garbage cans could be checked more often. The property is quite a few blocks from downtown Long Beach and many restaurants - long walk but short drive. However, staying there is MUCH more affordable than other places, yet still has many things to offer. You have to decide what things are most important to you. For us, pet needs were a priority followed by easy beach access.

The room was nice, and the view was great. However, the room door would open on its own with the wind. Even if i closed it hard. We made sure the security lock was latched while we were in the room. Talked with staff about and I was told they know of the issue and were working on. The staff was great with all interactions that we had with them. The indoor hot tub and pool was a plus. Breakfast was good too. Not just a bagel. But a good breakfast that was filling and worth eating.

Our room was really nice! There was a lot of attention to design detail. It was a cozy place to spend a weekend. We’ll definitely stop in again on our next trip to the area!

The staff was so nice. Really our only complaints were that the wind blew right through the pretty wide cracks in the front door so it was really cold in our room even with the heat set to max. Also we opened the curtains and half the rod and curtain fell and hit my partner in the head.

I’d call this more of a motel than a “resort”, but the pool and hottub were very nice . The staff way great , ocean view was beautiful. Also the elevators are very questionable , it would shake every time going down . All together great stay .

I have been to the Chautauqua for years! It has definitely evolved over the years. I was happily surprised! We will be back for sure! The staff was amazing!

Where to even start, we came because of the pool for our daughter and were unable to go because it was full and staff have to let you in to the pool room your room key will not give access. And it looked very dirty. Its the oldest room furnishings ive seen in a hotel anywhere. Little to no "hot" water. It took 5 min to get luke warm water then it went cold again. There were some stains on our sheets and bedding. And there's no insulation or something because you can hear every single thing around you in other rooms. Worst of all, there were about 20 seemingly unsupervivsed teens in the 2 rooms below us who were yelling and cussing till 11 pm and a 4wheeler pulling up to the back doors multiple times. Its too bad because it could be a nicer location with some better features but it seems to attract all the wrong type of guests for a pleasant stay. Very far from the beach so even on second floor "beach view" you cant hardly see the ocean at all. Price point seemed nice but it was not worth the savings at all!

Easy access to the beach with a great walking or biking trail. Some bikes were available at the office if you wanted to take a spin. Close to town, comfortable space and it was amazing watching the sunset from the balcony.
