Chose The Old Mill on a last minute booking as attending conference in Milton Keynes and was cheapest available... what a find! Staff (& locals) very welcoming, especially Kirsty. Didn’t realise it was so rural but very welcome after gruelling drive from Sussex and hectic two days studying. Sat in beer garden and heard.... nothing (except lonely owl). No street lights but watched half a dozen bats flitting about. Very relaxing and within easy drive to MK. Looked like tourist attractions also within easy reach. Maybe not suitable for anyone with mobility problems though due to stairs. Vegan and vegetarian options available on menu and my choices very tasty. Didn’t get chance to do river walk😟 My advice, take a torch, good book and enjoy!

Park at your own risk!
Parking is at the side of the road - no alternative parking anywhere around, its a residential area with a very narrow road. To get to the rooms you have to go past the smelly pub toilets. Don't bother with the pie for your evening meal unless you like lots of pastry and not much filling. Breakfast starts at 07:30 .... too late if you need to drive to Bedford to start work at 09:00. It may be OK if you don't have work to go to, but a bit grim - I won't be back!

Quiet location, friendly service, breakfast was great and bed comfy. Decor was dated but this is a very old building so can be excused and although tired, it’s clean and perfectly suitable for an overnight stay

Quite good. Breakfast toast was terrible the toast was like , chewing gum and jams/marmalades tasteless. We were not told there that breakfast was included in the price of the hotel room otherwise we would have tried a cooked breakfast. We were just presented with the menu and price per item Suggest some fresh fruit on the table and perhaps a couple of flowers in a vase. Definitely room for improvement.

Perfect night stop
Staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner was good, and breakfast too. Only small downside was not being able to check in until 5pm - we went to the pub down the road for an hour to have a beer and sit in their garden instead!

Nice location but disappointing
My son was competing in the English Athletics Championships and I left it so late to book accommodation that this is one of the only hotels free to book. The location was beautiful and hotel was very nice. However, the the sofa chair/bed was very uncomfortable and they only left a quarter (if you're lucky) of toilet roll in the bathroom for 3 of us. We were leaving at 8am and they said that breakfast didn't start until 8.30am. However, they did say that we could take something away with us which never materialised and there wasn't anyone around in the morning, not even to take payment. I had to phone to make payment after we'd left. On the plus side, the food was good but our meal was interrupted with a boy of about 11/12 (whom they knew so I presume local) shouting and swearing. So I don't think we will be back. Just need to make sure we book our accommodation much quicker

Nice venue for a short stay not too far from home
Pleasant room with all facilities Food was excellent I asked for champagne to be on ice in the room on arrival but this was not the case. However it was quickly remedied when I pointed it out. The approach to the rooms was not ideal going in opposite the loos and upstairs passed kitchens and offices but it is basically a pub rather than a hotel. The village is quaint and worth a walk around. The overall stay was great and we will go back again

Lovely area
One night stay on business locally. The staff were super friendly and helpful, room was great and the place really nice. Food and drink in the pub was first class. Have the pie! Shame about the wifi, painfully slow and when you need to work it is near impossible, I would usually hotspot through my phone but the signal was sketchy. Overall an excellent stay.

Idyllic Location
As a business user, I am normally away 2 / 3 nights a week in hotels, of the corporate variety, due to a lack of availability I stumbled across this little gem of a hotel, superb location, with excellent food and friendly staff, very restful after long days in the office! Only two minor negatives, would be the lack of a car park, and the speed of the free Wi-Fi, have booked again for the following week!!

Overnight stay at The Old Mill
The staff were very welcoming and the room was quiet and very comfortable. The Old Mill was ideally located for a celebratory event we were attending in Stevington.

I couldn't control the heating with the thermostat outside my room. I got blasted with heat in the evening until I asked for it to be turned down, it was turned off and I was then cold in the morning.

Great find.
Lovely little pub in a very quiet village. The room was clean tidy and the bed was comfortable. Definitely going to stay there again when I am in the area

Not the luxury accommodation it advertises. Room comfortable and clean, bed good with quality bed linen. Shower and bathroom average and shower water pressure really poor probably because other guests were using water. To get to rooms had to go through a door marked toilets! Then climb two flights of incredibly steep narrow, lino covered stairs past the kitchen and staff only rooms. Breakfast ok but mean - no fresh fruit or juice, coffee - you got a cup not pot, toast - one slice!

Lovely small village - lovely pub
The pub closes between lunch and dinner, so have to wait until 5pm to check in - unless the pub is notified first. Room could have been cleaned better - large spider's web and spider on bedside light. Cleaned it all before going to sleep. Room was warm, but fan in room helped - as did the cold water from the 'fridge. Very nice friendly people. Good menu and interesting, not all normal, pub food served. Good breakfast - poached eggs done perfectly.

Wonderful scenic village. Pleasantly restful. Tidy residence. Let down by mould in shower. Silicone sealant did not match wall boards and looked dirty but this was over ridden by the mould on the lower back corners of the shower. This was so disappointing as the general condition of the room was exemplary. Wonderful staff. Overly supportive. Food was excellent!! Best breakfast I have had in 2016!! Cannot wait to stay here again!!!

Quiet village location.
Room comfortable and clean, no proper wardrobe space. Bathroom looks recently refurbished, good showering facility. Quality of food very good, prepared to order, highly recommend the chicken, bacon with maderia sauce, sampled this dish twice. Staff all very friendly and helpful, with a special mention to Lauren, for her cheerful morning greeting and jovial conversation, an asset to the establishment.

Peaceful village setting
Planned one night stay close to Milton Keynes to visit family. Wanted to be away from big towns and cities. Also interested in future bicycling tour locales as a base, this looked good.

A great place for Skittles
We stayed at the Old Mill twice in one week and the first night was the first night in an English B&B. We were expecting something more but felt comfortable there. We ate our dinner in their small pub and met some very friendly locals who made us feel welcome. The owner, Mike and his staff were very helpful.

Excellent accommodation and breakfast. Could not stay for Dinner, however there was an excellent menu and I look forward to returning and including an evening meal. Very picturesque location in the heart of the countryside.
