The property need paint, new/update furniture, new flooring and baseboard, hot water and an exterminator. The View was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking

This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel that had no hot water and did not give a bar of soap. The room needs updating. The t.v. is from the 90's. The toilet seat was not secured to the toilet. There was not a working light in the bathroom. The pool is green and murky, I definitely would not swim in it. The grounds could be beautiful but they are not taken care of or manicured. The restaurant and bar are understaffed and therefore the service is extremely slow. Everyone was nice but overall not a place I would spend my money to stay again.

Friendly Staff...But not worth the money.
Overall the service was ok at best. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. 1st night I was greeted by 2 flying cockroaches that I had to kill with perfum...and one resurrected after returning back to the room that night. The grounds is beautiful and has a lot of potential but looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the pictures. None of the 2 pools were swimmable -one was official closed and the other looked like the surface was black as the water was brownish -you could see the discoloration even at night. There were several "pond like structures" full of water and a breeding ground for mosquito. Clearly this property is not being maintained. The toilet wouldn't flush and the showerhead was psthetic...drips of water but definitely mot shower. Thank God the beach was a priority for me cause other than access to the beach and AC in the room, this experience is memorable but not in a good way. I honestly think they should take this place off the market until there is some kind of renovation...P S, I think I was their only guest.

No bathroom door. Bed was so uncomfortable, room not very clean upon arrival, 1 pool completely unusable, 1 pool questionable. Beautiful views, great breakfast.

Worst Hotel In Jamaica
Worst hotel ever in Jamaica. Went there with my families. No TV cable, no telephone in the room, no security at night.

Dear 'Anonymous', We are sorry that you feel this way. Yes, our rooms do not have telephones and sometimes there are issues with the cable service which is beyond our control. However, TBH always has a licensed security guard on premises EVERY night until 7am without fail. Thank you.

Advertised with free wifi. But wifi was limited to a very small area in the lobby. It was not available in the rooms. The breakfast service was limited, pricey and not hospitable. Hotel room had a smell - we slept with the windows open.

We appreciate all reviews and welcome the chance to address the issues outlined. 1. Treasure Beach Hotel does not advertise as a property with 24 hour reception. Reception closes at 10pm, however someone is always available to facilitate check-in's after 10pm. 2. Wifi is not presently in rooms but is available on the main building only. This is correct and we apologise if this was not made clear to you on arrival. 3. All rooms are done on a daily basis and extra care is given to those slated for an arrival that day. We are unaware of any odours in the room assigned as no complaint was lodged and as such could not be addressed. 4. Drinking water is not supplied in our rooms, but are available for purchase at the bar. 5. We have never had complaints about our breakfast prices and we do offer a variety of breakfast options. Maybe the choices available were not to your liking and for that we can only apologise. Thank you for staying at TBH.

The hotel was rundown. It looked abandoned like a “ghost town”. I was the only guest. The front desk was closed after about 9:00 pm and only a single security guard who could not assist (with amenities like soap for our room) was present on the property. The pool looked like it had not been cleaned in years. I’m wondering why this hotel is still taking bookings if it clearly in need of a renovation.

The property was old and dirty and filled with mosquitoes. The room was musty, smelly and old fashioned. I would not recommend anyone staying there. I was very skeptic of eating at the Resort as well.

I love the grounds and walkways. The beach is close but the water looked a little rough so my wife would not go in.

Review of Treasure Beach Hotel in Jamaica
The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, but it was understaffed. Had to wait long time for meals due to shortage of staff. Some food items were not available that were listed on the menu. The food was very tasty. Gardens were beautiful, but overgrown. Could not see the ocean from the hotel restaurant as we could see back in the 90's when we went the last time. The rooms and the hotel building are not maintained as they should be. (Example: half painted walls, broken roofs, broken walkways). The bathtub, taps and tile were in need of repair. The ocean waves were very rough, not good for swimming, but good for wave jumping. The local people were friendly and respectful.

Escaping from, .... arriving here . Nice place, Nice Rasta garden ( born as a botanic garden),Nice honer, Nice staff,...missing a bit of joy receiving guest and evening atmosfere . 2° time here, for long period, happy if I could come back. Thanks Mrs.Jennifer and her lazy staff !

fantastisk lokasjon - nedslitt overpriset hotell
hotellet ligger direkte på en nydelig fredelig strand der du virkelig kan oppleve karibisk idyll. Meget vennlig og trivelig betjening. Men; Hotellet svært nedslitt og mangler vedlikehold i alle ender; AC virker ikke, myggnettinger revnet eller mangler, VVS-installasjoner o.a. fikset med interessante gjør-det-selv-løsninger, dør som mangler hengsel, lyspærer dingler etter ledningene, TV med mange uklare kanaler fra lett snødrev til tykk tåke. Alle rom vender mot havet, men det som nok har vært et fint parkanlegg har fått utvikle seg til tett jungel slik at nesten ingen har havutsikt. OK; madrassen var utmerket, det skal de ha.

We felt like we had our own private beach.
My husband and I had gotten married 14 years ago at Treasure Beach Hotel. This was our first time back to this hotel after getting married. Each day we woke up and got something to eat from the local restaurant (which is cheaper than the in house restaurant) and then we just lay there in perfect sea water.

Lovely Hotel. Great potential to be even better
On arrival, the hotel appears welcoming and clean. The best thing about it are the friendly staff, followed by the design of the rooms among the lush tropical vegetation. Lovely pools, although the larger one was a little cloudy. The beach is beautiful although there is no shade to speak of and was too hot for me during the day. Although I loved my time there, it does have an air of being in need of a little TLC. A lick of paint and some patching up and finishing off in places would make a big difference. Also, one of the fans in the bar was missing, and there was barely enough lighting to read the menu in the bar at night. The bar and reception areas were also dated and could have been made more inviting. One important feature missing for me was music. It was very quiet when I was there, and some authentic Jamaican music in the bar and restaurant would have given a much livelier ambiance, instead of 24 hour american TV. However, the food was good, service was great and the room was spotless, (except for an old battered toilet seat, which, although clean, was off putting). AC worked fine. WiFi was very patchy, usually limited to the reception area.

Nice hotel, very close to the beach
We had a few problems due to the lightening and weather affecting the electricity power but the staff were fantastic looking after us and phoning us to check we were ok. When our A/C broke due to the lightening the staff just gave us another room straight away. The room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels every day, I cannot thank the staff enough for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Perfect for that time alone!
My husband and I loved this hotel-very picturesque and the gardens and the beach were perfect!! They even brought the meal to our room! Treasure Beach Hotel is very private and for lovers! On the downside we found it difficult to find (No signage and all those stairs will definitely give you a workout!

Lovely hotel on the beach with great ocean views!
We booked to stay at the Treasure Beach Hotel to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our deluxe beachfront room was nice, but on ground level, so we could not see the ocean. However, we asked if we could be moved to a room on the first floor to make our stay that bit more special and instead they offered us a cottage on the beach with fantastic views of the beach and ocean and just a few steps away from the hotel pool! On the day of our anniversary they also prepared a special breakfast table for us. The staff were exceptionally attentive and kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Nestled among the trees and flowers
The hotel has a great view of the beach. Nestled among the trees and flowers there are four rooms on each building. If you like a little privacy both on the beach and at your hotel this place is ideal. Our stay was too short to take full advantage of the pools and stroll along the beach. Totally worth the drive through the scenic countryside.

Treasure Beach Hotel IS Jamaica!!!!!
We partied hard in Montego Bay and Negril then chilled at the Treasure Beach Hotel and Treasure Beach was by far the best place to be, it's sooooo quiet and serene ...The hotel was great and you're staying in the bread basket of Jamaica which means the freshest and most incredible food on the island. The walkways were always swept and clean and the room was clean and neat....It's almost like staying in the jungle with the way the hotel is set up. When we were there it seemed like the whole place was ours. At any givin time there are a max of about 15 other people on the 1/2 mile long beach at a time...One thing is don't eat\drink at the hotel, the restaurants on or around Treasure Beach are about 1/4 of the price and awesome, easily the best food I've had on the island..Treasure Beach IS Jamaica. Watch the sunset at the local bar Eggies on the beach and take the latenight 1/2 mile moonlit walk along the Caribbean Ocean back to Treasure Beack Hotel...Incredible! If your with a loved one and become overwelmed by the romance along the the way (like I did) there is not another soul on the beach to see. :)

Wunderschöner Strand hohe Wellen und Ruhe
Sehr erholsam schöner Blick aber keine Möglichkeiten in der nähe was anzuschauen oder einzukaufen Fahrzeug und viel Zeit einkalkulieren.Wer Ruhe möchte ist hier am richtigen Platz. Das Hotel liegt traumhaft und wir hatten ein Bungalow direkt am Meer 2 Stock die Grünanlage ringsherum auch sehr gepflegt 2 Pools auch sauber. Liegen umsonst was will man mehr!

Gute Lage, 2 Pools, direkter Strandzugang, Frühstück und Essen relativ teuer, Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, In Hotelnähe Moglichkeit für Ausflüge und Essengehen vorhanden, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten am Ort nur eingeschränkt (2 Minimärkte und ein kleines Bekleidungsgeschäft mit beschränktem Angebot), Keine Wechselmöglichkeiten oder Einlösung von Reiseschecks im Hotel. Ausflüge mit Allan Delay absolut empfehlenswert (findet Ihr am Strand). Bewegungsfreiheit am Ort auch abends uneingeschränkt. Telefonieren vom Hotel aus sehr teuer. Wenig Tourismus am Ort, dafü jedoch einsame Strände und Natur pur. Hier ist noch das wirkliche Jamaika spürbar. Relativ viele Treppen, Hotel somit nicht unbedingt mit kleinen Kindern oder für gehbehinderte zu empfehlen.

Fine store rom. (mindre rom med utsikt til hagen). Trapper ned til stranden og utsikt over bukten fra rommet. Det var veldig stille på hotellet da vi var der, og det er et virkelig fredelig sted. Restauranten er grei, men det finnes bedre alternativer i nærheten.

Decent large room....bed and bathroom linens where clean....AC worked perfectly....ocean view was amazing...going down the stairs to our hotel room could have more lighting but overall everything was fine...Would definitely go back and also recommend.

Serene vacation
Staff is professional and very friendly. Food is great (local cuisine included). Rooms are large and airy. Hotel has 2 large pools and a hot tub. The hotel is very, very close to the beach (very private). Swimmers have to be cautious, lots of strong waves and the tide is swift. Lots of natural foliage (hides the beauty of the hotel and most of the spectacular view of the Carribbean sea). Enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

Great low key destination.
This was my second vacation in Jamaica. The first, was an all girls trip and we stayed in Montego Bay. The second time around I vacationed with my husband and wanted something low key. The beach, which is just a short walk away, was beautiful however we did not go swimming. The waves were very rough, the warning signs that indicated this, made it more intimidating. The hotel staff was courteous. The hotel property was well maintained. The hotel room was cozy, I didn't like the fact that a safe was not provided for personal belongings. The bathroom was outdated and needed several repairs. Overall, we made the best of it and enjoyed the vacation.

Treasure Beach Hotel - a real get away in Jamaica
This was our first time to the south coast of Jamaica. TB Hotel, recommended by a friend, was a great place to stay. Our second story deluxe room was clean, spacious and private. Our king bed was very comfortable, and we had a balcony overlooking the gardens and ocean. I loved the sound of the crashing surf. A gorgeous long beach withvery few people was accessed by steps just down from a nice swimming pool. The grounds were filled with palms, tropical foliage, and flowers. There are many stairs, so this is not a good place for people with knee or mobility problems. We found the restaurant expensive, but found many places to eat within walking distance both on the beach and on the road. Treasure Beach is a safe and non-touristy part of the Jamaican coast, and the TB hotel is on picturesque Frenchman's Bay.( We hired a fishing boat to take us to the pelican bar and had dolphins swimming with us.) We would most definitely stay there again.

Staff very nice. Hotel in need of repairs. Quiet & not much to do in the area.
The hotel was quaint but bordered on dump where some amenities were concerned. The pool had a hot tub that was neither warm nor had any working jets. Showers were cold most of the time. The restaurant offers a long list of desserts but only had one to offer when we tried to order. On Saturday night we were informed that they were out of ingredients for all mixed drinks & only had beer, rum punch, & fruit punch available. This hotel was also 2.5-3 hrs away from the airport & transportation was not covered (contrary to what we thought) as we had thought. Cab fare to get to the hotel was $120-170 American dollars each way!!!! So what money we had saved for room price was rapidly eaten up. It would be nice place for honeymooners that don't want to do much w/ others or local sight seeing. Ocean temp was warm and beach rocky & although this was their busy season rarely was there anyone on the beach in front of the hotel & only 6-10 people down the beach at other hotels. It is not a white sand beach. I recommend this hotel if you want quiet time & being alone & don't care too much about room or activities. If you want a little more comfort, something to do & variety I would not recommend it.

if you want nothing to do and physically fit u can go, there are at least 30-40 steep steps to the pool and due to the numerous benches provided hurrah to that! management must be aware, There was a problem with the internet and the reservation and such an issue was made about a $36 which was demanded up front. Overall they tried their best, which was not good enough to counter act THE BOREDOM!!

Treasure at Treasure Beach
This was my first time on this side of the island and at the location. It was very quiet and relaxing. I initially requested a garden view but ended up recieving an upgrade to the oceanview (go for the oceanview -it's so worth it). The sounds of the ocean and the view from my bed and deck area were outstanding! It was a bit of an ant problem and mosquitos and could have used a setee or more comfortable chairs in the room. The food was ok. I had "Northern" breakfast for all of the 8days I was there and some dinners. The pizza was actually quite good as well. My travel companion had the more traditional Jamaican breakfast of akee and salt fish, which he said was good. I liked the fresh fruit. Would have liked more options for transportation into the neighboring city of Black River and the local sites like Lovers Leap. Melanie, the Managing Director was outstanding! Very friendly, and very accommodating to my needs. I walked a bit up the main road and visited a few of the small shops and a local restaruant "Frenchmen's Reef." The kingfish was fabulous and the service there was good, reasonable and it was right on the beach with a beautiful Jamaican sunset. I would definitely plan to return with perhaps a scooter or bike rental added for transportation. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderfully restful time at the Treasure Beach Hotel.

Loved it.............
Both my husband and i loved this hotel and would definately go back there. Our room was great and it was cleaned every day and the towels were replaced evey day. The A/C was brilliant and kept our room really cool and we had great channels on the TV. The view we had was stunning, and the two pools and the jacuzzi were fab, with only a few steps down to the beach. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was delicious. I would recommend the occean view rooms rather than the garden view rooms and would definately recommend this hotel........................
