Not worth the effort.
Maintenance is lacking on the entire property. The bathroom mirror had a nice saying (not family friendly) on it that showed up vividly when steamed over which happened easily since the fan was useless.

Great place to stay!
Loved the spacious room size and bathroom size! The pool was phenomenal! Great help at the front desk at the hotel on top of the mountain and bottom! It was a wonderful place to stay and economical for me and my son! We will be back sometime just not sure when.

Trevor and Katie at The Inn at Snowshoe were absolutely the best. We talked with Katie for several minutes. She is absolutely one of the very best front desk staff, I had the privilege of interacting with.

Not Bad, not great
The place was a bit pricey, I thought, but it's actually one of the cheapest places I could find to stay in near Snowshoe, so maybe my expectations were just off the mark. Although a bit old and run down, the place was very clean, which counts for a lot to me.

DOORS LOCKED, LIGHTS OFF, NO INTERNET ACCESS
I put in the address from the email confirming my reservation. When I got to the address, the doors were locked and the lights were out. And this was at 3:30pm on Friday afternoon. I was very upset. I tried to pull up my email and had no internet access. I drove back down to the bottom of the hill, then drove South looking for another hotel. When i found none, i drove north to find one. I ended up getting a room in Elkins, WV. I was VERY DISPLEASED WITH MY EXPERIENCE.

In June the place was deserted, nice pool and spa. Internet didn't work but they fixed the problem relatively quickly. What they didn't tell us was that nothing was open on Mon - Wed. You have to pay $40 for a "fun pass" but nothing was open so we couldn't do anything. Kind of a ripoff.

The staff was okay. The beds in the room were uncomfortable. They both sunk in the middle.There was no coffee maker or microwave in the room. There was no coffee in the Inn at all. You had to walk across the road to get a cup of coffee from the cafe and it was costly. There was no restaurant on the property. There was a Pub but it was never open.There wasn't enough hot water for 2 people to take a shower. Will never stay here again.

Nice, basic hotel near Snowshoe Mountain.
Basic hotel close to Snowshoe. The cheapest option. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tubs were nice. The shuttle only ran once every hour, so you had to plan or WAIT which is what we had to do! My son forgot his toothbrush and they did not have any to offer guests...at the rate we were paying, I would think they could offer guests this basic service! There is no cell phone reception anywhere at snowshoe. They do offer Wifi, but you will not be able to use your phone service. This is not the hotel's fault, this is a blackout area!

Cheap Hotel Close to Snowshoe
If your on a budget this is a good choice. Not the cleanest or most well kept hotel, ton's of people in the lounge/breakfast area all hours of the night. The biggest issues are no wifi in the rooms, and no microwaves in the rooms. If you want to use the microwave you have to use the community one downstairs where theres tons of what appears to be staff hanging out with their shoes off, etc. Other than those issues, it's a good, cheap place to stay and only a 10 minute drive to the top of the resort. There's a ski/rental shop and a nice little cafe that has great breakfast, but terrible service. You get what you pay for.

Good experience for a motorcyclist. Allowed to park bike under front porte cochere which is well lit and has surveillance. Staff reasonably personable.

This place was better than expected, except for a few minor things. Let me talk about the Con's: The bathroom could use a remodel, the shower was kind of small, and the paint on the bathroom walls needs some TLC. Not crazy about the resort fee. Also wish there was wi-fi in the rooms as I have an internet radio show I like to listen to at night. Pro's: continental breakfast, great fill up to get going in the morning! Quite room, couldn't hear traffic at night while sleeping. Nice pool and hot tub, perfect temps! Staff was knowledgeable about surrounding area. Hotel is close to Cass Scenic Railroad, and the Green bank observatory.

happy but disappointed....
the hotel staff was great...the room was clean and comfy...the view was gorgeous...Wifi sucked "literally only in lobby"...BEWARE THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE ANYWHERE IN THE 40 MILE RADIUS EXCEPT FOR ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN (6 min away)...The entire inside of the hotel smelled like marijuana the whole 3 days...and there was a homeless man sleeping at the back entrance under the tree. I would definitely stay here again if in the area because I would know ahead of time... NOT A BAD HOTEL AT ALL.... I just like to note all of the ups and downs!!!! We even recommended our family leave their hotel to stay here with us....

mid week stay
Very few guests at this time of year. Hotel was almost deserted which actually was nice. Food choices very limited during our mid week stay. Overall had an enjoyable time.

Good rate but needs to be renovated
Beds are hard, no WiFi in rooms, no OJ for bfast, wallpaper in bathroom peeling, room was musty. Staff was friendly but hotel seriously needs to be updated.

Location misleading
Though the hotel is great if you're looking for a cheap place to stay; however, the address of the Inn takes you all the way up to the Mountain Resorts at the top. We had to travel back down the Mountain once we realized that the address is misleading, since it is the very last hotel you see before you travel up the Mountain. The condition of the Inn is also very old and outdated. The beds and pillows were a little uncomfortable, and the pool and hot tub were littered with dirt on the bottom. If I return to SnowShoe, I'm just going to shell out the extra money and stay at the Resorts where all of the action is.

Never again! So disappointed!
I have been staying at the Inn at Snowshoe during the last weekend of September since 2008. There has been a steady decline in the hotel. Obviously the decision has been made to not put any money into the facility and it is quite sad. The pub/restaurant has been closed, the ski/apparel/gift shop has been removed, the wonderful breakfast buffet is no longer offered, the continental breakfast is a joke, the pool area is looking quite shabby as are the rooms. I booked 3 rooms this year as I had extended family come along for the weekend festivities and was quite embarrassed at the overall condition of the Inn. And resort fees! Are you kidding me? For what? What amenities were offered? Nothing comes to mind! Needless to say I will not be staying there again (if it is still open for business) NOR will I drive all the way on top of the mountain to stay in one of the "resorts" other facilities. I don't expect anything fancy but come on. When your facility is falling apart at the seams (literally) how in good conscious can you charge a resort fee? NEVER AGAIN!

No Accident!!
We made a deposit when booking with a cc. We printed our confirmation. When we arrived we had to make our way to the lobby through plastic lawn chairs and men smoking and drinking beer. We requested a handicapped room. The bathroom had a bar to assist with the toilet. It blocked the toilet paper and facial tissue box. The tub had an adjustable shower head and a grab bar on the side inside the tub; and NO grab bar to get into the tub. There was a adjustable chair TOO WIDE for the tub so that 2 legs would have to be on the floor beside the tub; or placed length wise leaving no room to get into the tub to sit on the chair. There was no shelf to place soap etc on and the surfaces of the tub were not flat but curved and the complimentary shampoos etc rolled off. In addition we were over charged after a 77$ deposit at booking and a debit of $154 to pay up before check out for convenience. The first staff member was pleasant and promulgated the RIP OFF with a smile. The evening replacement was intent on avoiding eye contact and very surley. The 3 day road trip was planned after a serious accident in March which caused the loss sight to my husbands right eye which is permanent. My intent was to help with the depression and relieve stress on both of us. If you ski and can't afford the a place at the mountain top Snow Shoe Resort; like to smoke and drink beer outside book this place; there is no other close by. Very long hallways for challenged seniors.

This was the quietest motel I've stayed in, and that was nice. The walls had holes in them, and the headboard on one bed was skewed. That was a bit disconcerting. Also, the ice machine was in need of cleaning. The staff was courteous, and helpful. I would certainly stay there again.

hotel is in the mountains & attached to a group of hotels in showshoe which is a big ski & sports area; with the other hotels charging close to $200.00 a night it is a real bargain--especially since you can buy the same day passes to use all the sports facilities at snowshoe, the same as the other hotels; the rooms were nice, there is an indoor pool/hot tubs, the people were cordial; however, they list a restaurant as part of their facilities that no longer exists & restaurants are few in the area & either expensive or pizza/burger places; the hot breakfast advertised is a continental breakfast with meager offerings--nothing hot; there are no microwaves/ refrigerators in rooms or lobby so you can't even bring your own food; soda & snack machines are just candy/soda/snacks; i would definitely stay again but would be aware of the lack of facilities; you cannot beat the price; NO CELLPHONE SERVICE which i didn't mind in the least

Poor continental breakfast
The continental breakfast was poor - stale pastries, out-of-date yogurt, few items for children, limited choices of food, staff slow to refill items that had run out - coffee, bagels. On final day, went across the street to a small restaurant for breakfast as did many other hotel guests. Lighting in the hotel rooms was poor - difficult to read at night.

Greatly enjoyed my stay for 2 nights...close to everything without having to pay high dollar for the stay!! Friendly staff...clean room...awesome pool and hot tub...get some cell service and it would have been perfect...will come again!!

No internet in rooms, nothing in hotel open,
If you needed the Internet, you had to leave your room and set in the lobby to use, no cell service at all. Lounge was closed, we had originally planned to spend 2 nights, I cancelled my second night and paid a sizable penalty. Also was charged an additional tax upon arrival. Television in room was so snowy it was difficult to watch.

Special Event stay
The hotel was not actually open for the season but had opened to accommodate a special event in the area. It was nice but things were a little disorganized. It was appreciated that they did open but they could have prepared better.
