Donna is just a lovely person. We came for the Luray Triathlon and she had us sorted out! She had a triathlete friendly breakfast to go prepared for us allowed late checkout so we could clean up afterwards. The property is lovely. We will definitely be back for a weekend getaway and take more time to enjoy the town and Woodruff House.

Warm and gracious hosts (who are terrific cooks)!
Donna and Anne were the most gracious and warm hosts. Donna escorted us inside when we arrived, gave us the tour, and explained everything. We immediately felt at home. Donna and Anne are excellent cooks, and their breakfasts started each day off perfectly. I hope I can stay with them again!

Donna and John were lovely hosts. Our room was quaint and charming and even had a jacuzzi tub in addition to a private bath. Very nice experience. We will book a room at the Woodruff House again if we ever return to Luray!

Did a spur of the moment trip to Luray Caverns and picked the Woodruff House by chance. Lucky choice! Place could not have been nicer. Met Donna who gave us a tour of the property and suggestions for our evening. Weren’t there long enough to take advantage of all the amenities but we’re going back when the leaves change. Highly recommend!

Our only suggestion would be to empty ashtrays daily so nonsmokers are not deterred from using the gazebo or deck. Otherwise, comfortable, clean, relaxing atmosphere close to attractions.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that a lot of our guest are nonsmokers. As I am a non smoker. We try to keep everything cleared and empty but when we have a heavy smoker it can be overwhelming. We will try to stay on top of the smoking areas more often. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Everything you need in walking distance! Donna is a great host! Clean and neat place. Breakfast she cooks for guests is perfect! Only need a small cooler in the rooms for cold drinks.

Anniversary visit
Great experience! Donna was amazing... great to meet her. She was so friendly. Amazing breakfast. It was our anniversary and the chocolate cake they made was incredible! Back yard area beautiful. Deck with lots of seating, hot tub, fire pit which they lit for us. Great location. So happy we got to spend our anniversary eve there.

We loved the house as well as our room. Located very close to Luray Caverns that we toured. Breakfast was good as well as conversations with .the owner and other quests.Would recommend this B&B to others and hope to come back to visit again soon!

Enjoying the comforts of home
We stayed at the Woodruff for one not, passing through from NC. We arrived after ‘check in’ to find a personal letter for us telling us we were welcomed and how to enter the property and directions to the room. The Woodruff certainly is not a Hotel or Motel. It is a quaint historical building with many original features still intact and an ambiance of charm . Our room was equipped with a Spa tub and a much needed window size air conditioner. The bed was comfortable. The shower was adequate, serving our purpose with soft fresh smelling towels provided. The kitchen/ dining room is fully accessible to the residents. Tea/ coffee, home made cookies , fruit are available when needed. On our morning visit for breakfast the food was freshly prepared, not sitting under heat lamps. The guests at the B& B sat together around one table, which was very personal with conversations taking place throughout the meal. Our host was available to meet our needs. There are two very pretty and comfortable sitting rooms to enjoy the feeling of being welcomed in a home. The outside area, has a hot tub, a fire pit, decking area etc . I would really recommend giving this place a visit when you are planning a visit to Luray, VA.

This home was very clean and all amenities were updated. But it was like taking a step back in history with the unique design and antique furniture. Home owner, Donna was amazing. She was a wealth of information for restaurants and places to see. And her breakfast was fabulous!!!!

First time staying in a bed and breakfast like this. We were kinda unsure about it, but it turned out to be a great experience! The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. They even had a fire pit and provided marshmallows! All in all a great place. We'd definitely stay here again.

Donna welcomed us warmly and after a brief tour of the house, she showed us to our lovely comfortable room. We woke the next morning and enjoyed a large, delicious breakfast. Staying at the Woodruff House contributed to a nice visit to Luray.

this was a very nice B and B Donna, our host, was very helpful and helped us find a great restaurant for dinner as well as pointing our other attractions that we might enjoy. We would stay at Woodruff house again.

Great amenities and wonderful hospitality
My boyfriend and I stayed at several BnBs recently and this was by far our favorite. The bed was super-spacious and SO COMFORTABLE. The place was clean and homey and the gracious and friendly host went out of her way to prepare food that accommodated my meatless, gluten-free diet. This place has all the amenities I would hope for, plus there is a wonderful outdoor Jacuzzi that was perfect for my aching muscles after a day of hiking. Highly recommended!

Welcoming and very relaxing
We have just left the Woodruff B&B with full very tummies and agreed if we are ever travelling this way again we would definitely stay. There was great communication between Donna and ourselves even before we arrived in the States. As we arrived in the afternoon, Donna was there to greet us with a welcoming smile and showed us around the B&B. Donna was very informative about places to eat, visit and things to do and throughout was very friendly. Over the few days we stayed, we were greeted every morning with a very cheerful welcome and an amazing breakfast. Donna was fab catering for my veggie needs. We had a yummy fruit bowl every morning, a cooked breaky and then another tasty treat. The apple muffins and pancakes were amazing. Donna was extremely easy to talk to and made us both feel very welcome and relaxed. During the day and evening there was always tea and coffee available and some yummy cookies as well. The hot tub on the patio was a fab way to chill out in the evening. Our room was in the attic, clean, loads of space, two air conditioning systems as well as a fan and a great jacuzzi. There was plenty of parking right outside as well, which made unloading the car easy. We would definitely recommend a stay here, Donna is a fantastic host and extremely welcoming.

Beautiful, well equipped B&B in Luray, VA
Classic, well-appointed Victorian house with many "extras" (in-room jacuzzi, spacious back porch with hot tub, furniture, grill, etc.) and a friendly, attentive owner who is an excellent chef. I recommend the Woodruff House most highly.

Ideal location for Shanandoah Park.Very homely.
Donna is a geat hostess and gave us so much info of places to visit and trails to do.Had the full use of lounge and kitchen with tea coffee and home made cake any time..Really quiet location, comfortable room and delicious breakfast. Luray is a pretty town with some good eating places.So handy for the National Park which is beautiful with fantastic variety of trails to suit all abilities.

Even after 20 years, it still impresses
Stayed here 20 years ago and was thrilled to see it was still open. New owners have made the place more homey and modern (the 14,000 doilies are gone, thank god!) and it felt like I was staying with family. Absolutely would recommend.

AMAZING STAY
It was an AMAZING experience! The food was yummy, the room was beautiful. Donna was extremely helpful with recomendations and our overall stay. She knew what time to go to places for them to not be busy. We will have to come back! She was such a great help!
