Located opposite the floating Chinese restaurant near Central Station in a quieter area of the city. We have stayed in Amsterdam 20 times so we were fully aware of the City Tax and this was calculated in advance by the booking site we used so there were no surprises when we arrived.
There is building work going on in the hotel that we weren’t aware of until we had checked in and reached the lift, nothing was mentioned at reception during check in, or on their website. We were woken early by builders which us left feeling tired during our short trip as we were unable to sleep in. Would have been nice to have been made aware of this before booking so we still had the option to change hotels.
Overall the hotel is ok. The rooms are very small, but not a problem if you just want somewhere to lay your head after a day of sightseeing. We would say the reception area and front of the building is that of a 4* but the rest of the hotel is a 3.
Front door is locked from midnight so you’ll need to knock the front door to be let in.
Glad we found a deal online as in our honest opinion, this hotel isn’t worth full price.
Beds were comfy, hangers in the single wardrobe, but no fridge in the room which is expected in a 4*.
Would we stay here again the next time we are back, most probably not. There are a lot more hotels in the area for the price.
