It’s a quiet place in the middle of the city. It’s very friendly to tourists and has all kind of services. Money exchange, laundry, restaurant, convenient stores etc.

Need the better management
When i visited 4 years ago, everything was higher than my standard in terms of hotel cleaness, management, facility. When i visited 3 days ago with my wife, couldnt help hiding my dissapointment. Shower booth was very dirty and fixing shower equipment was bas, breakfast was worst part. Took 45min since we ordered Nasi Goreng, and tried all including juices, coffee, bread, all plates we ordered were worse than we expected. I guess this has been caused the decrease of guests and managements seem to get worse. Hope they can get back to where they were.

Positives Beautiful breathtaking views from the rooms They do buffet breakfast Valet parking is free They have a spa which is very good Local shops are very close by walking distance Independent shopping area no franchises Near monkey forrest Friendly and helpful staff Negatives Long walks to the hotel if buggy isnt available Looks like a restaurant at the front not a hotel Hard to find A/c in some rooms doesn't work properly Buffet breakfast doesn't have a wide variety of foods Food is cold and they're aren't many people eating so makes it awkward to dine They charge for airport shuttle The hotel laundry and food service is very expensive

Lush and Inviting. In the city!!
The Plantaran is a great spot for a couple of days in Ubud. A nice enough room, great AC, comfy bed and clean and quiet. The morning breakfast was good (check to see if it’s included.... we had some confusion). The staff was always helpful but not always well informed. For instance, Twist, an amazing little restaurant for curry is steps away but the staff tried to put us in a taxi telling us it was 15 minutes away. But the lush green space beyond the front desk area makes up for it. The pools are gorgeous but close at 8pm. Staff let us stay until 9pm so we could see sun down. And the dusk that follows.

The hotel is beautiful, the decoration is in good taste and the rooms are very comfortable. The best part was the service, every single person working here is extremely friendly and focused on you having a great experience.Nice place to relax and unplug from the noise of the streets of Ubud.

Wonderful staff and hotel. Central location, nearby shops and tourist spots such as Ubud Market, Royal Palace, Saraswati Temple etc. Stunning resort that offers lots of free onsite activities such as fruit carving and Balinese dancing. Daily free afternoon tea is lovely way to relax before venturing out in the evening. Breakfast buffet has extensive range of food; chef made us fresh pancakes in accordance with our dietary needs every morning. Staff are very polite, friendly and helpful – exceptional customer service.

All-rounder in central Ubud
This was our 4th time in Ubud. We had considered the Plataran on previous stays, but had always opted for the nearby Alaya. This time we decided to give the Plataran a go with our friends. We made a couple changes to our reservation before our stay, and the hotel was always easy to deal with. The location is centrally located in Ubud centre within walking distance to most places. The hotel is beautiful and has a Balinese charm to it. We made use of both pools and gym, which are surrounding by rice fields. Complimentary yoga is available to guests. The buffet breakfast is fantastic, with a surprising range of choices. The staff here were especially amazing. One of the girls even showed me how to make congee :) They also offer complimentary afternoon tea at the hotel. Poolside cocktails and happy hour was excellent. All the staff were very friendly, and impossible to walk past without them greeting you. Very similar to the Alaya. The only negative I can give is sprint the bathrooms. They have been designed very poorly. Cramped and small.

I can't say enough good things About Plataran. My wife and I fell in love with the incredibly kind and respectful staff. Every breakfast we felt so cared for. It was our most pleasant experience on our honeymoon and the location was perfect. Room service was always great. We are grateful to have stayed there and whenever we are able to come visit again we look forward to staying again. Maybe next time you will have a Canadian Flag hanging!

Shame on you!
I booked the wrong hotel by mistake (had a couple of browser windows open) and called the hotel immediately after I hit the purchase button. They were not helpful. I also called hotels.com to see if they could help and they weren’t able to get in touch with a manager. They along with myself followed up the following morning in hopes of working something out and they wouldn’t honor the mistake. Poor business practice in my opinion. I didn’t no show and called literally seconds after I booked it. Shame on you! I am disputing payment on my cc.

The grounds of the hotel are deceivingly beautiful. From the street it doesn’t look like much. So gorgeous! Both pools beautiful and amazing view for breakfast. The staff are very attentive! Great service. Food in both restaurants was a bit disappointing though. Pretty basic, not the best quality and not that many choices. Also was very disappointed with the cheap polyester sheets on the beds. The best part of a hotel stay is always a comfy bed with super crisp sheets. The beds creaked, the sheets were worn and cheap material.

Tranquil calm in the midst of bustling Ubud
My partner and I love the Plataran Ubud Hotel & Spa! What a wonderful place. Exceptional service, with beautiful hotel and grounds, that you would never imagine was there from the street. It’s like magic when you walk through the restaurant/lobby and out to the back of the property, where the hotel is – it feels a little bit like you're Harry Potter whizzing through time and space. We were impressed by the outstanding service, great hotel and grounds, and wonderful rooms. On our arrival we were very kindly upgraded to a suite. We absolutely loved it – gorgeous, with a living room, bedroom, two bathrooms (one of which bigger than our bedroom at home!!), and a lovely balcony overlooking the jungle and the hotel pool. Very picturesque. In terms of our suite, the bathroom was particularly exceptional, with a massive deep soaking tub that my 6’3” partner could happily lay down in! The only thing we found slightly disappointing was the food (we had afternoon tea, and breakfast, both included in room cost). The breakfast, while there was a lot of choice, wasn’t up to the standard that we were used to on our trip to Bali. Both the Western and Balinesian/Indonesian food was just OK. We would absolutely stay again – the service was friendly and wonderful, the standard of cleanliness was very high, the grounds are fantastic, and we absolutely adore the location. Thank you again to Plataran and all the staff there for a great stay.

Best hotel I have stayed at
Wow, what an amazing place! We upgraded our room to one of the suites with views of the jungle for only pennies, and it was sooo worth it. Waking up to the sunrise over the palm trees and jungle noises was just spectacular. The staff was the friendliest and so accomodating, and they helped us do some day trips with their in-house driver Oka, who was a star. We barely left the resort to explore the main street because the hotel area was just unreal. It is the best hotel experience I've had to date!

Amazing!
My stay at the Plataran was truly amazing. From the moment I arrived... staff were attentive, accessible, and courteous. My room was quiet and clean. I enjoyed the turn down service and sweet treat left on my nightstand every night. The resort has daily activities and I particularly enjoyed morning yoga. The facilities were extremely clean and well maintained. The spa service was hands down the best I’ve ever experienced. The location was perfect. Very close to many shops and restaurants. A complimentary shuttle is available to take hotel guests to the market which I enjoyed. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I hope to return in the near future.
