We were glad that you reached out to us right away to solve the lock problem when check-in. We have detailed instructions on how to open/lock the front door in check-in email to get guests familiar with the procedures before their arrival. We understand that it may be overlooked, sometimes. We do not have individual AC controls in every room of the big house, but we do have a central heating/cooling thermostat on the wall on main floor, which can be accessed to all guests in the house. Dear guest, we are sorry that our accommodation didn't meet your expectation. Just curious that you could not stay at the place, so how did you know that our place is dirty? You made a last-minute reservation and then called to cancel. We followed our standard cancellation practice, then it's defined as unfriendly service. September was a crazy and busy month with needing accommodations everywhere in town, on the day of your check-in, you called again that you couldn't come because of a flight delay. We replied that the room would be ready for you and that you could check in anytime when you arrived. Overall, we apologize for the whole issue and highly suggest travelers plan trips thoughtfully next time.

Hi Sarabjeet, We had in fact offered you an upgrade to a private unit instead of a room with ensuite, shared kitchen and living area in our Guest House. The unit is in a raised basement with full size window in the bedroom and it comes with a kitchenette (with microwave, toaster oven, 2 burner stove, pots and pans, cutlery etc.), living area and bathroom. Most of our guests enjoy this unit as it offers great privacy. We even had a guest who had enjoyed this upgrade booked with us again and asked if we can offer him the upgrade again. Since you were not happy with the room, we offered you moving to a room with ensuite as booked on the upper floor for the second night but unfortunately, you would rather stay in the unit.

Hi, As listed on Expedia, Boardwalk Homes is located near University Ave. and Fisher-Hallman, close to University of Waterloo. It's around 10 minutes' drive to downtown Kitchener and there is also direct bus service to uptown Waterloo and downtown Kitchener. We are within walking distance to Boardwalk which is a popular shopping and dining area with a mini transit hub as well. We offer guestrooms in our Guest House. Guests have private rooms and they have the added advantage of a fully equipped kitchen. Guests may also choose to stay at our private suites with full kitchen as well. You may consider staying at one of our private suites if you prefer private setup. Hope to host you next time.

Hi, Our Guest House has a fully equipped kitchen for all guests to use and a lot of guests find it more convenient than staying in a hotel room. There is daily housekeeping service in the common areas of the Guest House. You may enjoy a better rate if your stay is for 3 nights or more. We have other types of Guest rooms on the upper floor of the Guest House as well.

Hi Elizabeth, Your original reservation was for a room for 4 guests and then you requested to bring a dog with you. In the circumstances, we offered you a private pet friendly unit with kitchenette without any upgrade fees. However, at time of check-in, you told us that there was only you with your dog and requested us to reduce the rate. At the rate of $99 + tax, you enjoyed a private 2-bedroom unit with kitchenette and living area. The unit was only renovated 2 years ago with new flooring and no peeling at all. We did not receive any report from you during your stay that there were problems. Otherwise we would definitely send our housekeepers to look into any issues raised.

Hi, Thank you for staying at Boardwalk Homes. We have 3 parking spots in front of the Guest House and 3 across the street so parking should be enough even though there were 6 tenants. You might have stayed during the busy St. Patrick's Day weekend and therefore the Guest House was busier than usual. We strictly enforce the no smoking policy and we could not identify any smoking smell in the Guest House when our housekeepers are doing daily clean. Hope you will stay with us again on the less busy days!
