Stayed for two nights. Lovely sized room with comfortable bed. Used the spa on day two which was an extra £10 each. Very busy so best to visit at lunchtime. Didn’t eat at the hotel. Would stay again.

Good value and comfortable. Staff were quick to improve state of heating. A step in the bedroom worried us a bit but we all remembered it was there.

Had a lovely stay, quick check in, classic room had lots of space in a very quiet location. Food was good and excellent service.

Piping hot powerful jet was shower was amazing. Evening meal of steak was superb. Staffing levels are poor and not trained properly no one knows what they are doing.on every level though our waitress was fantastic. Reception staff are appalling inefficient and shoddy. Rooms were fine tho not enough tea and coffee or milk. No replacement bathroom essentials. Got food poising from an avocado salad sent by room service to 104 Saturday night, was absolutely ill with diarrhea and vomiting I shouldn't have eaten the salad as it looked tired. Do not book throu an ap then you have to pay £10 per person to use swimming facilities. Very expensive for food and drink, terrible smell of raw sewage near lift shaft. This hotel with more staff and the right staff could be amazing. You are paying premium prices for a poor service. Sunday breakfast was a nightmare 3 staff and every man and his dog waiting for food and tables. Total shambles. There are better hotels for less. The shame was I had rung the hotel twice in advance as I had booked 2 rooms as a surprise for hubby's birthday. As grandson and his parents were arriving with a cake for receptionist to shout it out and when asked to shush and put a finger to my lips she carried on regardless. Spoiling the surprise. Would not stay here again. Bath in sons room couldn't be emptied as there was no chain to the plug. 18 hours later I had to find a pin to pull plug out incase our 2½yr old grandson should fall in a full bath. Terrible service.

Very friendly staff at reception, and the hotel is very clean but it needs maintenance - broken toilet seats and toilet paper holder, moldy shower, missing light bulbs in the room, entire hallway without light.

Stay away from room 167
Very poor experiece. Room 167 backs onto the left. This should not be a bedroom. Two very poor nights sleep as a result. Receptions attitude was no one else has complained! & we are full. Thank you fir the lack of empathy.

Comfortable hotel ideal for business trips
Great hotel for a one day business meeting. Nice rooms with good facilities. Only issue is that wifi is not great in some rooms.

Will not return.
The whole hotel didn’t smell good. I think there is a plumbing issue. Lift needs some attention. Receptionist was nowhere to be found when we left so could not voice these concerns. Breakfast was good and reception the day before was friendly. All in all will not return beds where uncomfortable!

Check in was chaotic with too few staff on counter and customers waiting out the door. Fire alarm went off twice during night forcing evacuation and no information provided by management. My wife had to find someone at 2am to if it was safe to stay in hotel.

Good but could of be better
Reception staff really friendly, other staff not quite so.. arrived to check in at 6pm, room was surprisingly spacious and on the whole clean. Slight mould around the windows and the rim of the toilet was noticed, otherwise very clean. We went to the restaurant for 7 and was told no tables until 8:15pm and should have booked, so ended up eating in the bar. Breakfast was until 9am we was told, so got up and straight down for that, people was still filtering in from 9, so felt we didn’t have to rush, however, the plan was to go and use the pool and had paid for late check out for this reason. Arrived at the pool at 9:15 and was told in quite a stern way swimming (on a Saturday) was until 10am with a child so had to be out in 45 minutes, Was asked if we had booked the spa, I said no, I didn’t know (again) we had to and we just wanted to use the pool, and was then told with a bit of attitude that the pool was part of the spa and from 10 it’s people who have booked spa sessions. So we left.. overall the hotel was okay. It was just odd, The restaurant had many tables free when we got there at 7pm, but was told we had to book and nothing available until gone 8. Had we of known we could only use the pool until 10am, to then get up have breakfast, digest breakfast all before at least 9am to have an hour in the pool seems odd to me, I get people pay separately to use the pool and spa, but as a guest at the hotel a bit more give on time would appreciated

Rather tired hotel. It and the staff need some tlc
We were staying only one night, and had booked on the basis of there being a spa at the hotel, thinking we'd enjoy a nice meal and spa that evening. However, when we checked in at 6.30pm we were told the spa was closed for the night. When we remarked that it seemed rather early to have closed, we were told rather passive-aggressively that they "have to close some time hahaha". I don't think it unreasonable to expect a spa area to be open until 9-10pm. I then went to book a table in the restaurant for later, but was told that, as we hadn't booked the dinner package, we couldn't book, and they were likely to be very busy so it was unlikely we'd get in, but could eat from a limited menu at the bar. I was rather pointedly told that it "didn't work like that" when I said it was rather odd. However, we were able to get a table when we went down - the man was helpful and said there'd be one in half an hour, so we had a drink in the bar. The woman who'd declined to book us didn't seem pleased but seated us. I don't know how limited the bar menu was, as the restaurant one was very basic and bore no resemblance to the sample menu on the website, which looked very appealing. What we got was very basic pub grub, cooked rather poorly, in an over-lit restaurant that had a rather depressing aura. The room was comfortable enough, but basic. Someone was smoking weed in a room and it permeated the corridor. Breakfast was ok. The company (each other) was the best bit.

Room was at the end of a corridor which led directly into a function area where there was a wedding on. Cannot believe it wasn’t separated by some doors. Eventually got to sleep at 2am 😴

Staff are wonderful and extremely friendly. Hotel is nice, the room is stayed in could do with a little revamp but generally clean and tidy. No complaints and perfect for a last minute night needed for a business trip.

Enjoyable stay
Lovely greeting by Chloe and good advice on ongoing journey. Good bar food and excellent breakfast. Very comfortable stay although broken nights sleep due to toilet continuously running! Despite this would return and definitely recommend.

This was the second time visiting. The place is good, offer good servive very comfortable beds, very clean. The family enjoyed the stay and staffs are friendly.

Nice value for money hotel
This hotel is not in a place you would expect it to be. Its more like going into a housing estate. Sat nav also se t me into an industrial estate on getting there. Check your map vefore going. Family of 4 in family room with 2 double beds. Very clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast whilst not a huge selection as in other hotels we have stayed in was nice. No ridiculous parking charges. However, if you fancy a swim then unlike a lot of other hotels £10 per person charges although I did get a reduction for the kids All in all value for money was excellent and yes we would go back agai

Shower was unsafe as the water pressure is very strong like a jet to wash lawn which results toilet door being soaked with the splash water from shower, carpet in the room needs upgrade as this is very old and dusty, floor area around the pool must be scrub regularly as this become slippery and not safe for adults especially children to walk, restaurant-must have additional menu for kids meal. Customer Service is 5 stars. I think that's a big plus to the service. We hope these comments will be taken seriously by the management

Weekend away.
Welcomed by receptionist Chloe who couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Bar snack was good. All staff very helpful and friendly. Outside area of bar was rather messy with overflowing ashtrays and empty glasses and cups not cleared away the morning I went there to have a coffee. Room only cleaned once - only a few things not quite right. We had to ask 3 times for more toilet rolls. And not enough tea bags and cups not washed up. Very nice swimming pool and spa with helpful staff.

Hotel and facilities awesome!!
Car parking superb Location excellent Hotel building superb Hotel rooms massive and well fitted out! One of the biggest rooms ever. Bed comfort great! Spa facilities and breakfast awesome! Top marks for all above. Problems: safe didn’t work in room, shower handle broken, bath tap didn’t work, air con wouldn’t go above 17deg, - seems loads of money spent on building and fitting it out. General staff are great and helpful, breakfast lovely. Seems maintenance and upkeep is the problem at this place in the rooms. 4.5/5 in my view - we would use again and would reccomend.
