Great stay at Maison de la Commanderie!
The hotel is really nice, we were there in low season and were basically the only guests, got upgraded to a suite which was nice.

Séjour St Emilion
L'hôtel est bien situé dans St Emilion. En revanche nous avons eu une chambre au second étage sans ascenseur. C'est un peu compliqué lorsqu'on a des bagages volumineux et lourds. La chambre se trouvait sous les toits et était très sombre de part la taille des fenêtres. Elle était également peu insonorisée, nous entendions les discussions de nos voisins. Il y avait à disposition une machine à café mais pas de bouilloire à eau, ce qui manque lorsqu'on ne boit que du thé.

Liked In the center of Saint-Emilion. 1 minute away from shops, wine-bars and restaurants. Did not like In busy season, parking could be a problem.

It was really lovely. The view from our room was stunning, the location was perfect, the room and bathroom were huge - esp by French standards.

Excellent service - very small hotel - treated like royalty. Given early check in and received text messages through out our stay to confirm all was ok. We specifically requested a room with very cold air conditioning (which doesn’t exist at a lot of hotels in France) and were not only accommodated but the owner/manager went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable. Five stars!

Saint emilion est une ville charmante surtout le soir lorsque le flot de touriste est parti. Donc rien de tel que dormir sur place. La maison de la commanderie est idéalement placée, à proximité des restaurants et commerces et au calme dans une petite rue. Chambre propre, spacieuse, climatisée. De l accueil jusqu au petit déjeuner, beaucoup de disponibilité de la part du gérant. Et puis le petit déjeuner est convivial avec des produits frais et faits maison. Rien à reprocher !

Charmant hôtel, chambre des écuyers assez spacieuse pour 2. Literie confortable. N’avons pas pris le petit déjeuner donc propriétaire peu vu, juste en partant, mais très agréable. Hôtel très bien situé pour visiter à pieds, restos et petites boutiques tout près. Charmant séjour !

One night in St Emilion
Lovely welcome from Laurent. Room looked out across the beautiful town of St Emilion. Breakfast was a treat with home made jan and yoghurt. Will definitely stay again. Bought some wine too which was delicious.

Parfait pour une nuit !
Dans un cadre magnifique, cette maison a beaucoup de cachet et l'accueil est vraiment au niveau ! Très accueillant, l'hôte est vraiment au petits soins ! Le petit déjeuner est simple mais top, les chambres sont belles, bref on y serait vraiment très très bien si les chambres étaient un tout petit peu mieux insonorisées. Pas de problème quand on ne reste qu'une nuit, mais peut-être à prendre en compte si l'on souhaite séjourner plusieurs nuits. Nous concernant : ravis de notre expérience !

Stunning setting and gorgeous suite!
This place exceeded our expectations--the ambience at the hotel was a nice mix of contemporary and ancient. Our room was quite spacious and light. The decor was amazing, just beautiful, with little pops of bright colors offsetting the limestone walls and upholstery of the bed, chairs and couch. It was very clean and we found the town to be relaxing. We slept with the windows ajar to get some nice countryside fresh air. The owner obviously enjoys his profession, the food was just superb and the hospitality genuine.

fantastic
this hotel is located right in the heart of St. Emilion. the owner was very nice and was all ways there to help and talk if needed. In St.Emilion it feels like every 2nd store was a wine store you could step in and they would give you tastes of any time of wine that you wanted and you were not pushed in to purchasing. The town is so beautiful we recommend going there.

Great B&B with beautiful view of Saint Emilion
Beautifully decorated room with fantastic, updated bathroom. Great location with scenic views of Saint Emilion, convenient parking next to hotel. Owner is helpful and puts out a lovely breakfast and well stocked mini bar. Very enjoyable stay, hope I can return soon.

Great stay.
Great, charming hotel. I arrived late, but the manager left his hard and instructions for how to access my room. The room was wonderful and had a great balcony. However the loft was too uncomfortably warm for me to sleep on the bed, so I had to sleep on the couch. I suspect non-American travelers would not have a problem with the loft.

Small boutique type hotel in a fabulous setting.
This hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway or for a stopover north or south to explore beautiful St Emilion, we loved it here and would definitely stay again. We were in the chambre de Chevallier, with fabulous views over the town. Due to the cobbled streets, flat shoes are a must!

Historic building in central St. Emilion
We were warmly greeted by the staff and given information on where to park our car (about a ten minute walk away). After finding the parking location (basically, at the side of the road next to a vineyard) we lugged our baggage back to the Maison (not to be confused with the Auberge de la Commanderie across the street) and up two flights of stairs to our room. We had breakfast the following morning (extra charge) and it was enjoyable.

Great location with some challenges
The hotel is a beautiful old building in the medieval town of St Emilion. As stated there is no elevator so three flights can be challenging. The description stated "soundproof" roooms. Not quite. The screaming baby next to our room made the walls tremble. Did not partake in breakfast because it was one table in very small kitchen.

Great location but beware...
First impressions are very important! Stated check-in is 4-7p. We arrived at 4p but the front door was locked. We called the phone numbers on the door repeatedly to no avail. At 4:30p another couple arrived to check-in. We all waited and waited and waited. Finally at 5:30p another couple showed up. They had received a phone call from the proprietor with a code to the lockbox. Guess what? All three keys were in the lockbox. This is not acceptable. We stayed 5 days and didn't see the proprietor until we checked out. Yes, he was there to collect our money. The B&B is perfectly located. The building is 900 years old but our room, the Templier Suite was very nice. Breakfast is Not included on all reservations. You can't add breakfast if you can't find the proprietor.

Terrible service in off season
This was our worst experience during our 2 week stay in France in March 2017. Despite check in being at 4pm, when we arrived at 4:30pm the hotel was dark, locked, and no one answered when we rang bell or called their telephone. There was no note or any way to know what was going on. We thought maybe the hotel had closed and we'd need to make other arrangements. Finally, after an hour of waiting with no idea if anyone would ever show up, someone finally arrived. He seemed surprised to see guests at all and said he said he was only filling in for the evening and was not a regular employee. We never met anyone who actually worked at this hotel. We even had to leave our key with the cleaning lady and hope for the best. The entire experience was bad, but the worst was our check in experience which essentially robbed us of a half day of touring and ruined the day overall in terms of the level of stress if added. We had no idea if we had accommodation at all that night or if the hotel had unexpectedly closed, not to mention that we had to wait during the final precious hour of sunlight with our mountains of luggage unable to do anything until the luggage was stowed away. Oh, and when we decided the next morning that we would like breakfast... suprise, surprise... no one was there. While the hotel is beautiful, the lack of service was so terrible it ruined our time in Saint-Emilion.

Lovely mansion in historic city center
Maison de la Commanderie is a fantastic place to enjoy the beauty and charm of Saint-Émilion. The properly is lovely, the location incomparable, and Laurent is a superb host. We will definitively stay there our next time in Saint-Émilion.

Close to the town center!
If it's your first time to St. Emilion, it will be a challenge to find. One handicap is the stairs and heavy luggage - the saving grace is the host, Laurent. He could not have been more accommodating. The hotel is clean and well cared-for, VERY nice sleeping ... the bed is quite comfortable and the room darkens nicely. We'll recommend it to our friends.

Beautiful and historic property with amazing views
Amazing location within the town of St. Emilion...Walking distance to all the wine shops, restaurants and local attractions..The owner Laurent made us feel right at home and served a delicious breakfast every mornings. Highly recommend for anyone coming into town for a few days to explore th St. Emilion appellation

Amazing balcony overlooking St Emilion!
Ideally located, this was a perfect place to base ourselves in St Emilion. The staff were lovely and the 'Suite du Commandeur' had the most incredible balcony overlooking the town! Honestly one of the best views you get there. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend to anyone going to St Emilion.

Great bed & breakfast in the heart of St Emilion
We stayed in the Chevalier room and absolutely loved it! We are used to our fair share of fancy hotels, but this charming hotel really touched my heart! The Chevalier room has a breathtaking view of the entire town and I loved every second of drinking champagne and looking across the town from the windows. The bathroom and shower were quite large for a bed and breakfast and were clean. We were able to check in a bit early and drop our belongings while the maid cleaned the room. Super easy and great!

歴史的な建物ときれいにリノベーションされた内装、そして立地的にも最高です。　本来は19時までに到着しないといけないのですが、渋滞で遅れた際も鍵をセーフティボックスに入れてくれてたので無事にチェックインもできました。 時期がピークシーズンだったので、割高でしたが、内装もよく満足です。
